Biting lips? No. But I hv bitten my tongue and inside of the cheeks/mouth plenty of times. Hurts like hell, esp. when eating. Also, scraped gums while brushing.

May I ask what happened exactly to your lips and mouth? Your description does not make it seem like a minor wound.
I remember a lot of times when I ate something spicy or sour after biting my lips but food has no sin.... except pineapple pizza. Because it is wrong to put sweet things on a savory pizza. (Also, pineapple makes my tongue itch like no tomorrow) OP, maybe you need to have your mouth checked?

I have the habit of contracting muscles like a snake, so my inner cheeks always tend to be chewed alongside the food, if I'm not careful. Been there, done that. Resulted in noodles from mouth flew out from nostrils. Choked hard, gasped, and gagged until soup windpipe was cleared.
I bit my lip at the same spot until it has a permanent bulge, which I will bite if I am not careful. It is a vicious cycle.

I've bitten inside of my right cheek repeatedly in one sitting (eating popcorn while watching a movie in a cinema ) . That happened because i tried to avoid one big ass ulcer in left lips ( 2 1/2 ulcers combined no joke ) , and tongue .
