I assume that she would have offered if that was an option. Personally, I think he should be asking for the tools he's using. I think its too early to join one or the other. We don't know enough about Erta's personality yet. Honestly, I'm not even sure that we know enough about Rita's. The only things I can think of off the top of my head are big boobs (not really part of her personality, but if Erta is flat (can't remember if she is), then it could play a role in his decision), self-delusional and lots of loyalty and love towards the MC.
