    I remember reading one awhile back and it was rather enjoyable.
    The general story was from the POV of the evil Overlord as he rose, started to conquer the world, and then fought off the heroes on their quest to save the world from him.

    Does anyone have any recommendations for stories like this?

    It's Kuroinu: Kedakaki Seijo wa Hakudaku ni Somaru. If im not mistaken it has the same plotline.
    EDIT: was quite enjoyable indeed it goes to through 5 episodes if i remember correctly.
