Hello! In which chapter were all the misunderstandings cleared up? I'm reading the manga and I'm kind of rolling my eyes on this. Thank you!
i've read regis spoiler but im still confused with some things. seeing how juvel khs in 1st life easily it seems like regis never show her affection because he is controlled by the emperor. in 3rd life i know hes still controlled by the emperor too but somehow he is able to show her at least a bit of affection, it was showed in the manhwa where he go home from the palace faster because of juvel, he even escort her to a party publicly. why can't he do that for her in 1st life? sometimes i feel like its forced for the sake of the story. . i might be missing something tho since im not a very good observer. maybe anyone have explanation for this?
The truth was... Regis didn't show her affection for Juvel because of two things... Spoiler 1. Because he was afraid that the Emperor will blatantly use Juvel as a bait/shackle for him. 2. Because he was afraid that Juvel will remember the past Spoiler If you have forgotten, when Juvel was a kid, she saw Regis with bloody sword, two knights that were dead, and her Mom (Amelia) who's definitely bleeding and dying. Since she was a kid, she thought her Dad killed her Mom and since that day, whenever she sees her Dad, she'll faint (which is the product of Juvel having too much mana on her body so she is having mana-related issues because her emotions were being stirred up when she sees Regis) so Regis (Dad) made a contract with Paphnil using the pendant that is especially for those with Floyen blood (which is he'll release his shackles in exchange of him erasing Juvelian's memories) and so Paphnil really erased it. and once again, become afraid of her Dad. So he distanced himself with her although he really wanted to hangout with her like before. In 3rd life, he can do that because.. Spoiler He had a quite a vivid dream whereas Juvel was accused of poisoning the Princess (Beatrice) and Regis knew that it was all false as he believe and trust Juvel and so... He had a contract with Max (Crown Prince). He'll rebel with Max to overthrow the Emperor in exchange of Max helping Regis to save her daughter. That's why Regis said that he'll escort Juvel to the Shadow Room himself and gave Juvel the sword. Spoiler which is to be used to protect oneself especially if you have the Floyen blood running on you, although I really don't remember if that's the description of the sword but... It's a guardian something sword. It is used and treasured by Floyen's since the Founding Emperor's reigns) Juvel misunderstood it as Regis telling her that she should kill herself but Regis didn't know that it was what she was thinking and so... Regis proceeded with the plan. Since the Shadow Room was a place that only someone with Imperial Blood could open, Max could open it. Though when Max went there, Juvel misunderstood that Max will torture her and so she killed herself. Max was so shocked. Then he went to Regis and told Regis that Juvel killed herself and so... Regis was like, non-verbatim: "If that child is dead, then I can't do it anymore!" Then Regis proceeded to annihilate everyone there, then the Emperor was using Kirke's ring to control him but since Regis had already gone crazy, he can't control him (since Kirke's Ring only works when someone was in their right side of mind). Well, Regis killed the Emperor. Then the emperor's crown fell like how his head fell, then Regis picked up the Crown and said, again, non-verbatim: "This crown is perfect for a Princess." When Juvel was a kid, he calls her a Princess for an endearment. And that concludes it... I hope it wasn't messy... I'm not a native English speaker... I also forgot to add that what happened in Regis's dream was what happened after Juvel killed herself. That was the conclusion of Juvel's whole 1st life. Regis went mad (like bat shit crazy) and killed everyone. Maybe including Max (it wasn't really stated there) and perhaps he even destroyed everything? I have no idea.
If I may also add... His dream was like the instigator why he didn't avoid Juvel's affection for him because he thought that if him in the dream couldn't protect Juvel when he was far from her (because that was the method he thought was right), then he'll somehow try to do the opposite so that he can protect her.
