Question Favorite male lead personality?

If there are other personalities you like, what are they, and why?

Obsessive yandere personality is a gosh darn guilt of mine, "cold but softens up" characters that are also somehow "puppy like" in a clueless kinda way is wHAT WILL END ME.

An ML who actually talks.... like, i’ve seen so many cn novels where the ml is cold and stuff that he barely even talks to the girl...

i voted for calm and gentle but i have a soft spot for the puppy mls too

 

As a veteran romance manga reader, I've come across myriad ML personalities and the realisation that I prefer those who are or, at least, appear, rounded (round characters). Apart from being believable, they must also have certain self-respect and respect for boundaries. I like when they try to work out relationship issues by reaching out to the FL instead of being super passive. Decency is appreciated as well. I also like MLs I can commiserate with.

ML is nice and gentle in front of MC but when he saw other men fancied MC, he goes behind her back and eliminate them lol

 

Yup. Most of the male love interests don't really have a personality; they are just bare minimum archetypes with very little in the way of traits to make them stand out. Well, it is common for them to hate women but I'm not sure how this is a good thing for characters who are supposed to be attractive. Are good looks and being rich supposed to an adequate substitute for personality?

 

I really like MLs that looks and sounds like a cheerful and happy bottom, but is actually a complete and smooth top XDD

I voted puppy dog-like personality. But I also really like cheeky bastards like Ishakan from Predatory Marriage.

Also I like those who act like a silly goofball, yet in rare times seems the most mature.

Gentle, calm seems like it’d make the story boring.

Innocent and puppy-dog feels too sub for me.

What is the normal personality tho.

we behave differently in from of different people, for example when in front of ur bestie u might twerk to each other and ur bestie would see u as a crazy hoe, but in front of the police you’d be uptight and be super polite so they’d probably see you as just another respectful n shy citizen.

it all depends on the point of view hunny. The ml is normal, we’re just seeing another part of him from the fl’s POV. When we say he has xx personality it’s actually just a reference to the side shown to us + how they usually behave to the outside world

Hmm what I mean as normal here is what's in contrast to extreme personalities of the typical ML

• Cold type (more or less with phobia of germs)
• War god type that loves to kill
• Overconfident playboy type
• Gentle with poetic flairs or other artistic flair
• List goes on, or hybrid of these personalities

I rarely see MLs that don't fit into these criterias without him being bland. I remember only one tbh, and I forgot the title but it was a good story proving that an ML without the eccentricities is good too.
