What would you do when your friend say that female MC are not good or that novel with female MC aren't good.
"Your loss and move on", if they don't want to read them what's the point in putting the effort to convince them? Why care if they read them in the first place? Everyone has their preferences/biases.
Maybe he can't relate to the mc if he's a guy. Cause I somethings also drop a novel because I can't relate to the mc. Not trying to be sexist but its..different.
Well I did pretty much did that. It wouldn't bug me as much if he didn't keep saying that he open minded.
Meh, I'm fairly open-minded on most novels though I will have a heavy bias/reluctance to any recommendation of Yaoi/Netori/Neotare and such. Guess it then depends on where you draw the line on "open-minded" yours seem to be - All the things -
It's just that he keep asking me for recommendation and it's not just like I only recommend novel with female Mc I recommend other book also.
It depends on the stories, but most stories with female MC have a very..."I just talk shit and all the supercool guys love me" feel. There is a bias in most cultures for the male in a relationship being the strong party. That makes it a common trope that the beautiful girl(s) are basically misused as a trophy for the male protagonist. The problem is that no one wants to read about the male weak as fck but beautiful males being used as trophies for the female MCs. That creates a problem where the female protagonist is awesome, but the male love interest is really just even more awesome, and for some (unknown) reason they just love the MC because...plot armor. Of course there are ways around it, but your friend might simply have read a few of these and decided "nah fck it, I would rather read stories where the MC is also the most awesome most powerful character."
Well how about an AI of a super Dreadnaught? (who uses a female avatar later on) (+ most of the other "MC's" are female) Just tell him to read past of the prolog of this, without any other Infos The last Angle
