Also I there are somethings that are easy to focus on and than there are somethings that are harder to focus on.

I find the best means in which to focus is about tuning out the distractions around you. This is very hard to do these days, we live in normally rather densely packed clusters, so we have neighbors, pets and many other things that just make it hard to do what you need to. The simplest manner I have found is simply headphones and some music. Not to loud mind you, as it will start to muddle up your thinking as the lyrics come to the forefront. For gaming purposes I ended up awhile back purchasing a good quality sound dampening headphones, by wearing that with a playlist that beat and sound scheme focus on what I am writing allows me to focus alot more. It could be as simple as playing 'weathered' by creed while writing a fighting scene in which people are fighting to the death.

Keep in mind repeating the same song although from an entertainment view is rather boring, from a white noise point of view however it can be ideal. You can keep it in the back of your head without paying much attention to it, but since you know what it is your mind wont be distracted by it. Whether you play multiple songs, or a single its up to you. I have seen people play different things, even just listening to novels or jungle sounds.

Once the sound is tuned out the only other thing I have to worry about is movement, the instincts of our ancestors make it so movement just like sound draws our attention very very easily. That way we can see the lion thats coming to eat our face lol. Although very good for survival, driving, and just everyday life, when you need to focus on something it can make it very difficult. To appease this, i always make sure to find a place that is seated away from windows, or common areas where people might be walking. This keeps my eyes from darting around to everything every minute or two. If you do not have the luxury of such a place, you can make do using something like a brimmed hat, blinds can work, though they must be solid and not cloth, curtains after all move and blow with breezes, its a distraction by itself.
