Just a question, what happens to her sister?

The one who was like, "yeah, i will support you sleeping with my sister's future husband and won't even talk to my sister and try to mediate or stop the bullying or anything, hell, i won't seemingly even care that my friend is seducing a lot of man, i will still put her above my sister!"?

I guess...did she know her friend was going for a harem at all, in the manga she does seem horrified at getting the prince to be her husband but it could also be because it's her friend's love as far as she knows.

Man her reaction to the event must be something...much like the reactions of everyone that manage to not be there and are told what happened afterwards.

Oooh, this was one of the parts I really liked, actually!

Summary: After the dinner where Alexandra suggests substituting Viviana in as Alfonso’s fiancé, Viviana confronts her in a heated discussion where Alexandra forces her to basically see the position Alexandra has been put in this whole time, and the reality of impact to the kingdom of Alfonso (& Lucia's) actions. By the time the event rolls around, Viviana has had time to think about it, and backs off from outright hatred to a more neutral position. She acknowledges Alexandra is correct about the disastrous potential future, Viviana’s responsibilities as a noble daughter of a duke, how the whole harem situation is a little odd, and that her duties should come before her friendship-- but she also still condemns Alexandra’s actions in response as crossing a line, and believes that Alexandra still owes Lucia an apology for her behavior.

I think it’s a fair and realistic place to arrive at! It was one of the parts I quite liked. We don't see her specific reaction to the events at the party, but in the original she joined in the condemnation and in this version, she doesn't, even though she's at the party, so she's tacitly taking Alexandra's side.

    • Alexandra punts responsibility of marrying Alfonso to Viviana at family dinner. Viviana is too shocked to do much during the meal, but confronts Alexandra afterwards.
    • Viviana seems pretty bright - she is clearly suspicious that Alexandra's up to something and is like, why now?
    • Alexandra points out that this is her (Alexandra) only chance to get out of the engagement - as soon as they graduate (tomorrow) it moves from 'engagement' to 'wedding'.
    • They have a heated discussion about the kingdom’s succession laws. Alexandra refutes Viviana’s idealistic points (such as 'why not have 1 of the 3 dukes adopt Lucia') by basically pointing out the reality of how it isn’t just Lucia and Alfonso’s decision who the Crown Prince marries. Just because Viviana (/Alfonso/Lucia) might want the nobility to accept ‘true love’ the reality is they won’t come around so easily.
    • If Alfonso loses the support of the nobility, which he will if he flouts the succession laws like a tyrant, the kingdom will end up divided, especially since he has two younger brothers. If one of them marries a daughter of the 3 dukes in accordance to the law, nobility will rally around them.
    • Basically, she lays out without explicitly saying so that Alfonso becoming King while keeping Lucia at his side and refusing to touch anyone else will probably lead to civil war - where Viviana will have little to no protection as the childless, unloved queen.
    • Alexandra then points out that there is a really straightforward way to avoid that fate - have Alfonso relinquish his title as Crown Prince. If he and Lucia truly have found true love ‘without status’ - it shouldn’t be a problem for either of them, right? Or for Viviana, who supports that love and is their ally, to convince him to do this.
    • Viviana is pretty much shocked to silence by this, but clearly starts thinking seriously about what Alexandra’s laid out, and then we don’t see her again until right before the graduation party/condemnation event (Alexandra has been TOO BUSY during that time lol)

      Event day
    • By the time the event rolls around, she still thinks Alexandra owes Lucia an apology, but has recognized how abnormal it is for Lucia to have multiple guys worshiping her. She's not quite ready to abandon Lucia, but she realizes that even if the reverse harem situation (not that she calls it that) is working now, if it falls apart, it would be terrible for the kingdom, and that as a duke’s daughter, she has responsibilities to her family and the kingdom that take precedence over friendship.
    • ...of course, Alexandra is still in villainess mode and is like, I don’t owe Lucia jack and I’m not going to apologize, so she and Viviana are still not on like….good terms, but they’re aligned in a sense of respect for responsibility at least.

Also her brothers getting like no screen time kind of makes me laugh. Viviana’s twin is her escort for the party and is there for the entirety of the second exchange right before the party, doing nothing but looking pretty LOL (literally, Alexandra’s sole comment on him is basically like, ah, they’re twins so they make for a striking entrance together).

Her older brother also seem to be pretty chill (he agrees to escort her to the party when Alfonso doesn’t show, though he ends up ceding position of escort to Gerard). And per the side stories going up on Alphapolis, looks like he eventually marries Zenaida (Alexandra’s maid). It was kind of nice to see a 'horrible villainous family' where the brothers weren't total jerks.

This is just only about half of their post-dinner convo, and it's MTL'd but--

“You are the daughter of one of the three great dukes, and Alfonso-sama is the crown prince! Unless that premise is overturned, you will not be able to escape from this fate!”

Yes, this is reality. No matter what idealism you may advocate, aristocrats will protect tradition.

“Then… how about adopting Lucia to one of the three great dukes?”

Even though Viviana is my little sister, her arguments are nothing but superficial wisdom.

"It’s a matter of bloodline, not of social status. Viviana, I didn't think you wouldn't even understand that much?"

"Are you asking me to disrespect the feelings of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, who wishes to marry Lucia for love?"

"It doesn't matter. Alfonso-sama declared that he would be with that potato girl for the rest of his life, and that he would never embrace another woman. But do you really think that His Majesty the King, the heads of the three great duke families, and the numerous nobles will recognize that potato girl being next to the future sovereign?"

    "......!"

How hard is it to get her head around this. In this country, kingship is not absolute. If she thinks that if Alfonso-sama, the crown prince, says that black is white, that black will actually become white, she is mistaken.

Even if the potato girl becomes queen, any boy she gives birth to will not have the right to inherit the throne. It would be a different story if Alfonso-sama became a despot and ignored the three great dukes and the previous king to change custom, but if he were to go that far, he would be bitterly opposed by the nobles, led by the three great dukes.

"Alfonso-sama has two younger brothers. If one of them takes a daughter of one of the three great dukes as his wife and she gives birth to a child, the right of succession will be transferred to them. No matter what Alfonso-sama and the potato girl think, that is the rightful law of succession to the throne of this kingdom."

"You're trying to threaten me... If I don't get in the way of the love between His Highness the Crown Prince and Lucia, a miserable future awaits!"

"Oh, I told you. I said that is what would happen if the premise is not overturned. Viviana could persuade the two of them to overturn that premise."

    "...premise?"

    That's right. You've guessed, haven't you?

The reason why this is so important is because we're the daughters of the duke, Alfonso is the crown prince, and the potato girl is the likes of a lowly baron's daughter. If social status or lineage is the problem, just fling all that away. Yes, that settles everything.

"Let Alfonso-sama relenquish his position as crown prince and become a mere member of the royal family. With this, even those who are so picky about him making the potato girl his wife will shut up."

    "Wh...what...?"

"Oh, why are you surprised? Alfonso-sama has awakened to the idea of true love that doesn't care about status, right? If the position of Crown Prince is a hindrance to love no matter how much they struggle, he must be willing to throw it away, right?"

    "That's..."

Oh, that's unexpected. Viviana had a vague sense of it. She just didn't want to admit it.

Potato girl is a woman trying to achieve a reverse harem. Do you think she’ll want to be with an Alfonso who is no longer the crown prince? What she sees is ‘the Crown Prince of [Doki Ede]’, not 'Alfonso' or his status. If there is a gap between the two, her feelings of longing for him will cool down. That kind of thing.

"My lady, we are ready to leave."

    "Thank you, Zenaida."

Viviana is at a loss for words, and a brief silence reigns in the room until Zenaida returns, having finished her errands. She entered the room without making a sound, bowed, and gave her report.

I put the jacket I didn't sell to Isidro over my shoulders and proceed to the exit of the room.

Viviana kept her head down in silence until I left the room.

This MTL on this one is a little rough in places, but hey. Before this, Zenaida reworked Alexandra's look so she looks kind of innocent and fresh, very different from her usual look, and Viviana is kinda gobsmacked by the difference.

"Hello Viviana. Is there something on my face?"

    "Eh? No, there’s nothing..."

When I called out to her, she finally returned to her senses and averted her gaze in a flustered manner. I wonder how long it's been since I've seen such a cute reaction from Viviana. We haven’t been close for so long that I can't remember anymore.

"Today we are going to say farewell to the graduates who are leaving the academy. Viviana can miss them as much as she wants."

"Yeah, yeah, of course not. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Baltasar-sama, Roberto-sama, the list goes on and on. It would be a great loss to have people far more splendid than onee-sama leave the academy.”

It was her usual condescending way of speaking, but it was lacking sharpness. It's obvious that she's rambling to cover losing her composure. When I looked at Viviana with a smile, my sister twitched. She seemed to be aware that it was a return of suffering.

"So, what are you going to do now, have you sorted things out?"

I stop enjoying her reaction and get to the point. Once the event started, there would be no time for Viviana and I to talk. I had to put the newly proposed marriage between Gérard and me on the back burner and make sure Viviana was aware of her status as a daughter of a duke.

Seeing the intention of my question, Viviana narrowed her eyes and tightened her lips.

"Do you want to choose your friendship with Lucia, or will you take responsibility as the daughter of a duke?"

"I'm a woman born into a noble family. Of course I know which is more important, don't I?"

I tried to stir things up, but Viviana found me out. With that look on your face, you're ruining your well-proportioned facial features.

"For the record, I don't think you're entirely right, elder sister."

"Very well. I'm not going to justify my actions either."

"You know how much Lucia was hurt and cried, right?"

"That’s probably because that potato woman wouldn't stay away from Alfonso-sama."

    "Apologize to Lucia."

"I don't care if you want me to apologize. I have no intention of begging for forgiveness."

The villainess should play the role who gets on the player's nerves until the very end. Even while being dragged out by the Kingsguard, she will beg for help from Alfonso-sama and cast a curse on the heroine.

I will never let the nightmare of repenting and getting along like in the true ending of the reverse harem route come true. If you still want to jump in the trash with the potato woman after all that has been said, then there is no way for me to save you. After all, as planned, even if the people who are complicit in joining that potato woman include Viviana, they will suffer a corresponding punishment.

"But I'll separate onee-sama’s malice from Lucia's actions."

    "...Eh, what?"

At first, I couldn't understand what Viviana had just said.

"I have to admit that Lucia was…unusual when I reconsidered the situation calmly. Why did the crown prince, Baltasar-sama, Roberto-sama, and other important people of the country gather around Lucia alone? There was no competition or quarreling. It's as if everyone worships Lucia."

From the meta-viewpoint of ‘Doki-Ede’, it was because she made the best choices and raised the capture target's favorability without any difficulty. However, from the same perspective, the potato woman, who is looking at the situation with an omniscient point of view, is skillfully taking advantage of people's hearts.

Abnormality... I didn't know there was such a way of looking at it. I had never thought of it that way because I was so preoccupied with my feelings as to why Alfonso-sama chose that sweet potato girl and not me. Certainly, it can be said that it’s frightening to have someone know your hobbies, tastes, and even past debts.

However, this omniscience and omnipotence is only for the time being, for what is portrayed in ‘Doki-ede’. After it ends, an unknown timeline awaits us. What will happen to the reverse harem that has been constructed when that happens?

    Viviana continues.

"Everything is going well for now, but one day it may fall apart. We can't cross that dangerous bridge together."

"Well, if you’ve woken up to that point alone, it was worth arguing with you yesterday."

Lucia knows everything about each of her capture targets, but the environment around them is not described in detail in "Doki-Ede. If an anomaly beyond the heroine's imagination occurs, the reverse harem could be distorted. It's still a relief that you're aware of this anomaly.

"I've rambled on a bit too long. I'm keeping Placido waiting, I'll go first."

"Yes. I'll see you at the academy."

    Viviana solemnly nods and departs.

Playing the role of her escort is my youngest brother, Placido. They're fraternal twins, so they'll look good together. I only caught a glimpse of Placido, but isn't he getting quite big?

Then, Zenaida and I were left alone in the entrance hall.

Jesus. I'm shocked after reading the spoilers. Thank you @yodireads

The "original" game's timeline is hardcore as fuck. The 16 year old seduced the King's brother? Isn't he like... 50? The way he's dealt with in "our" timeline is kind of fucked up as well but his very essence as a human being is garbage so I guess it balances out.

It's a shame that this is an Alphalopolis novel so chances that we'll ever see an official translation are pretty much 0.

YEAH there are a number of times my eyebrows rose - there are definitely some kinda fucked up moments in the previous and current timelines. Not just Felipe - the homeroom teacher is flat out mentioned to be 2x Lucia's age. Then there's
    1) Everything going on with Lucia's 'childhood friend', and 2) the Queen encouraging Alexandra and Gerard - her sixteen year old son - to have children as soon as possible, which they do, as evidenced by the flash forward to their wedding two years later, where they already have a kid and 3) the endings for the other love interests are GRIM - like, despite how Felipe's happened, he's really the only one who ends up happy. Everyone else, not so much. I know it's a parody and the dark humor's probably some of the point but yeah there's a good amount of yikes that goes on.
    SO:
    • Alexandra is fully prepared to show up in FULL, COMMITTED VILLAINOUS mode - red and black dress, dark lipstick, the whole deal. Zenaida, her lady's maid, takes one look at her, goes hell no, and reworks her image completely so that Alexandra is in a gentle light blue, hair loose, basically looking like an innocent fairy. Since she has always tried to look mature / older than her age, this is a drastic departure.
    • It's extremely rude / unheard of for an engaged man to escort someone other than his fiancé, but surprising exactly zero people, Alfonso is a no-show to escort Alexandra. Anticipating this, Alexandra asked her older bro to escort her, and he agreed - but before they leave, third prince Gerard shows up to escort her, and he's reworked his whole image in accordance with an idle comment of Alexandra's earlier in the 24 hr period.
    • Gerard promises he will be by her side, basically sweeps her off her feet and she ends up all fluttery and flustered because he was just a kid in her eyes that morning, and now seems all dependable and what-not. Pretty sure he steals a kiss if I remember correctly. Mostly I remember that up until this point, Alexandra has been cool, calm, and collected - even when facing Lucia's assassin love interest - and Gerard manages to make her totally lose her cool.
    • Alfonso is not happy to see Alexandra there with Gerard - he's not jealous, but he's just angered by basically everything Alexandra ever does, which saddens Alexandra, but she's bolstered by Gerard's presence, and he lets her handle it.

    • Knowing Lucia's a transmigrated game player, Alexandra makes sure to say the cut scene dialogue as expected (something like 'glad you're here to celebrate me and the other graduates'.)

    • Cue condemnation event! Alfonso begins a dramatic monologue basically saying he plans to condemn a sinner - and supporters gather on stage. However, they're all mob characters - Alexandra was successful in sabotaging Lucia's SIX (!) other love interests, and none of them are at the event, and that he plans to end his engagement with Alexandra.

    • Caroline (queen's niece, Alexandra's sometimes-friend-sometimes-rival, daughter of one of the other 3 dukes, who interfered with homeroom teacher love interest) is notably standing back, watching what will happen, as is Viviana (A's sister, who joined in condemnation in game). Neither help Alfonso or Lucia, nor do they intervene for Alexandra.

    • Alexandra begins to refute his claims one by one. He says she led the noblewomen of the school to torment Lucia, Alexandra points out that they did that of their own accord, not under her orders. He says she isolated Lucia, Alexandra says it's natural to only invite one's friends to tea (and in fact, tried to get noblewomen to befriend Lucia because she didn't want Lucia to get friendly with the male love interests, but she keeps that to herself) and if Alexandra is guilty of that, she's guilty of isolating every woman she didn't invite. He claims she lectured Lucia and called her names, Alexandra points out proper etiquette was breeched by Lucia and it's her duty to educate her to avoid a repeat mistake., etc.

    • Things start to get interesting when he accuses her of bullying Lucia and destroying her things and Alexandra flat out admits it and immediately tosses gold coins at Lucia to pay for the damages.

    • Alfonso then accuses her of attacking Lucia with magic and sending assassins after her (Alexandra notes they didn't do a very good job, and if she got another chance she'd hire better ones - damn!)

    • Lucia cries out the game dialogue - "If you just say you're sorry, I'm sure Alfonso-sama will smile and forgive you."

    • And this is where Alexandra deviates from the game - she apologizes. (Despite saying she has no intention of doing so the entire 24 hour period) though it is admittedly very obviously for show and not sincere. She then mentally mocks Lucia and Alfonso basically being like - why are you so mad at me for saying I'm sorry, didn't you just say he'd laugh and forgive me?'

    • Before they can recover, she points out that was jealous and heartbroken, and basically rips Alfonso's honor to shreds - never once did he come to her and say he didn't love her anymore, that he wanted to end the engagement, he just ignored and scorned and openly cheated on her, and she had no way out. What was she supposed to do? She was still going to get married to Alfonso, was she just supposed to watch him sleep with another woman? This is, then, partly his fault. Because he didn’t talk to her, she couldn’t be sure Lucia wasn’t a threat, and he’s the one who kept her by his side (implied, endangered her) anyway.
    • She then drops the bomb that it isn't entirely relevant anymore, because Alfonso is a little late to the news. He says he will break his engagement with her -- now, when he should have done it as soon as he realized he loved Lucia -- but she broke it first that morning with the king's approval.
    • Alexandra then drops the second bomb: she will still become Queen.

    • It takes Alfonso a minute or two to get it, but then he looks at Gerard next to Alexandra and goes ballistic, realizing that he's basically just been cut out of the line of succession.

    • The king and queen then intervene - unlike the game, they have attended the party this time because of Alexandra's interference. Alexandra notes there is a slightly familiar looking woman weeping behind them.

    • The king offers Alfonso a chance to prove himself - he can go to war with the barbarians, and if he leads the army to victory, the king will acknowledge Lucia and Alfonso.

    • Alfonso seizes the chance without hesitation, but this time, Lucia is the one who freaks out. She panics, shrieking that she won't with him.

    • Alexandra knows why: the reverse harem route was supposed to be kind of a reward for the players, so even though it's difficult to enter into the route, it's the easiest to actually 'win' because you have all of the love interests against the villainess. Subsequently, because it's so easy, the consequences for failing it are drastically worse than the other routes. Essentially, all the love interests die and Lucia ends up a slave for the barbarians. So of course she doesn't want to go with him.

    • The Queen then 'tsks', and the weeping woman begins to sob harder. Turns out, weeping woman is Lucia's mother. The Queen decided Lucia was dangerous and this was a test. If she really did love Alfonso and went with him, the queen was going to let her be. But clearly, she didn't, and she is just seducing powerful men, so she can't be left to roam free. With the Baroness's permission, Lucia is going to be confined into a strict monastery for the rest of her life so she can't seduce anymore men. This is the monastery Alexandra is often sent to in some of the bad ends.

    • Lucia is dragged off, Alfonso is dragged off - but not before he tried to punch Alexandra, and Gerard takes the hit for her, ending up getting knocked into the table of food.

    • The event is over, and Alexandra doesn't feel relieved, she's just deeply sad, and finally breaks down into tears.

And then, yeah. Fates of the love interests are generally bleak.

    • Alfonso fails miserably, ends up getting captured by the enemy and spills military secrets to save his own hide, which ends up getting a ton more people killed and making him generally hated by all. The investigative report written by the informant the night he and Lucia got together ends up published as a romance novel that everyone realizes is based on him, further adding to his mockery.

    • Balthazar (General's son) ends up permanently injured from the war, losing most of his left arm from the shoulder (he held up his shield to block something) . He remains fairly optimistic, all things considered, and spends many years recovering. While he can no longer inherit his father's position (and his father steps down from his position as general to lessen Alfonso's punishment after the crusade fails), he does regain enough mobility to rejoin the army (now under Gerard's leadership) as part of the cavalry, and 'fights like a lion'. He supports his younger brother, who becomes the family heir, as an assistant. His attitude makes this generally one of the less bleak endings. He does not regret loving Lucia, and nor does he resent Alexandra.

    • Roberto (Prime Minister's son) likewise ends up badly damaged by the war, in agony with a 50/50 shot of survival (he was either hit with a poisoned blade or the cut got infected he got gangrene, not totally clear to me.) He also loses his rank due to his involvement with Lucia/Alfonso - his father is so ashamed of his involvement and the fact that they lost the crusade he resigns as Prime Minister, but is allowed to keep his rank as Duke due to his father (Roberto's grandfather's) outstanding achievements. Roberto, however, must choose to either hand over the position of the next head of the family to his brother and become a count, or take over the position of the head of the family as it is and become a viscount. He holds a LOT of resentment against Alexandra.

    • Domingo, the wealthy merchant father of Mario, ends up nearly bankrupt thanks to the copies made of his books that were stolen, so Mario ends up pretty much destitute, though Domingo manages to claw back some business eventually.

    • Herald the butler ends up on the streets.

    • Elias the assassin ends up really gruesomely executed by poison (a fate that was Alexandra's in one bad ending) all the while having realized thanks to Lucia that he doesn't want to die.

    • Teodoro the homeroom teacher lives going meaninglessly through the motions, generally dead-eyed and basically never finding any joy again.

    • Felipe the king's brother actually ends up marrying Leticia (who spiked his drink with drugs...) and Isidro mentions they continue to purchase the aphrodisiac from him frequently so...draw what conclusions from that as you will. He becomes the new Prime Minister in place of Roberto's father, who steps down after his son's failure and the crusade loss.

Lucia's ending is....complicated, and a whole thing. Her 'childhood friend' has a big role.

What an aHole! Not only did you cheat, you'd even raise your hand on a defenseless woman? It doesnt matter if he should marry a duke or commoner's daughter. He shouldnt marry at all!

Thanks for the spoilers, feel so sorry for Alexandra but she handled it well eventhough she was hurting. Best MC for condemnation events. No wait. Second one. 1st one goes to Mad Dog Princess Scarlett. :blobnosebleed:

it's the novel that has two volumes, the manga is covering the first one, Alexandra's story.

Alexandra did eventually take Lucia's daughter in and Gerard is 2 years younger than Alexandra.

    yeah

though Alexandra pretty much intends to have the daughter grow up without knowing who her original parents were until she's old enough.

Also I just saw that the side stories now contain a story about Dahlia's fate and here it is:
Dahlia grows up with none of Lucia or shitty ex prince's personality traits and while Dahlia actually has her own suspicion of who her original parents were before Alexandra decided to tell her the truth, Dahlia decided on her own that she prefer Alexandra as her mom over Lucia and her sperm donor.

    also, well-
Edgar from the second volume is actually Lucia and shitty ex prince's second kid. (This is from the newly released side story of Alexandra's epilogue)

The Dahlia side story mentioned an Edgar and I went "Wait a minute-"
Then I looked at Edgar's visual from the second Volume and see some of the similarity Edgar got physically with the shitty ex prince Alfonso.

Potato girl apparently wanted to give birth to a son so Lucia could still have some involvement in the sequel game (The second volume)

The only saving grace is that Edgar, like Dahlia, has none of their shitty parents' personality.

    Ah thank God.
Alexendra has a big heart to shower motherly love on a child whose parents nearly destroyed her life. From a humanitarian point of view it was already enough of her to give a status to the innocent child but she went quite a few steps ahead and raised that kid as her own.

If those trash couple had another kid, it means they're living together right? I know some people would be satisfied that they atleast got humiliation but I wanted to see more of vengeance. I hoped that woman to throw Alfonso away or the kids to be revealed to not been his in the story. :blobowoevil: I mean my personal opinion not that I've anything against the ending though, but I don't like it either.

Thanks for the spoilers so far.

The manga updated, with just a few words and being put in her sister's position, Viviana seems to think less of her friend at the moment already.

Just more Alexandra growing the seeds to survive her condemnation event.

As for the fate spoilers, i have to ask if anyone other than Alfonso manages to get back for the sequel, also, yeah, some bleak fates but as Alexandra, aside from adopting her foe's kids, is an actual villainess, i doubt she cares.

If you want the very short and simple spoiler, I put it at the end under ‘short version of spoiler’. Excerpts are very quick and scrappy MTL, definitely missing some nuance, but the gist should come across.

    Slower drip version:

Okay, so we get a few ‘side stories’ throughout the 24 hour period, focused on the POV of other characters:
    • Gerard, confronting Alfonso before Alfonso heads to Lucia’s for R-18 activities
    • One each for Pacho, Reuben, Noelia, and Urbano - basically hired henchpeeps running around doing Alexandra’s bidding after being hired by Isidro (wealthy merchant)
    • Carolina (another duke's daughter) confronting Teodoro (homeroom teacher)
    • Queen Marianne getting her lady-in-waiting’s opinion on Lucia after getting a letter from Alexandra
    • Zenaida towards the end of the night after running around at Alexandra’s behest
I can’t remember if we get an Alfonso one. But we don’t get Lucia’s, which is understandable given that the main POV is Alexandra and we’re supposed to sympathize with her, which might be hard if we suddenly switched to Lucia! So instead, we get a few from her unnamed childhood friend.

The first POV we get from them begins with:
They then proceed to explain that when Lucia was a little girl, she suddenly regained memories of her previous life, and it was too much to handle all at once, so she came down with a terrible fever and when it was gone, Lucia was different. It was after this that she told this friend that she was a reincarnated person.
Lucia also spills the beans about [Doki Ede], how she loved the game and knew everything about it, and how thrilled she was to be born as the heroine.

Childhood friend (CF) was a bit slow to catch on because she uses terms unfamiliar to CF, but eventually figured out that Lucia went to an advanced education institute in another world (college) and that [Doke-Ede] was a story in that world, something like a novel or a play. CF had doubts about it all, especially when Lucia begins to say she’s destined to have a great love story with some really important people, but over time, watches as Lucia plays this part.
CF doesn’t really understand why on earth Lucia wants to be loved by eight men - since Lucia has described the game exhaustively to them, it seems to CF like any one of the capture interests could lead to a happy ending, and coordinating all the necessary timings and events for eight people, in reality, is a lot. CF thinks Lucia should just go for the prince or the king’s brother because then she’s guaranteed a luxurious life, but Lucia disagrees–what she wants is as much love as she can get. It isn’t about the men or their status. For Lucia, “The important thing is to receive love from wonderful people. Being surrounded by lots of love is the ultimate luxury.”

So, CF doesn’t get it, but is happy for Lucia, if slightly weirded out by how easy it is for her to gain the love she craves, and CF feels kind of sorry for Roberto (idk why he gets a special call out) and the others, but is ultimately somewhat morbidly fascinated watching Lucia pull it off. And Lucia is psyched for tonight. Like, flat out telling CF she can’t wait to have a hot and intense night with Alfonso.

    And theeen we get this:

Lucia is elated at the prospect of a happy future, and is convinced of her victory.

Seeing Lucia's joy, I, too, felt happiness.

And just now, Prince Alfonso finally confessed his feelings to Lucia.. Lucia responded to his feelings without destroying the image he wanted of her……..A man and a woman are alone and express their love to each other, nothing can happen but naturally their hands and lips come closer to each other, and they tell each other that they love each other, confirming their love.

This is not an appropriate scene for an all-ages otome game like "Doki-Ede," and it is hard to believe that this is Lucia's heroine.

This is also said to be a first-night event that occurs when the level of likability is raised to the maximum, so you could say that it is a recreation of the event.

I love Lucia who lives in such selfish love.

    Because she is so dedicated.

She tries so hard to be a heroine, and she is so adorable that I want to hug her when she sometimes shows her weakness.

    If she's happy, I'm happy.

    But I assure you.

The capture targets don't know anything about Lucia. They love her only as an idol created by Lucia. I, who have been with Lucia since she was a child, ever since she remembered her previous life, know this better than anyone.

I love Lucia who wants the love of her capture targets. I want Lucia all to myself.

I'm spending this night thinking that even this contradiction is lovely.

The reverse harem route will be fulfilled tomorrow. No matter what lies ahead, my feelings will never change.

"Lucia says it too, doesn't she? That's what love is."

Next time we hear from CF, it’s the day of the event, and at first, Lucia is positively glowing and gushing about her night with Alfonso who is ‘hotter than in the video game’ ( CF notes ‘After all, my darling Lucia and the crown prince Alfonso had fun until the sun came up.’) but CF is cautioning Lucia not to let her guard down just yet. Sure enough, things seem to be amiss - Balthazar is absent with diarrhea, Roberto is out with a cold, Mario is having a ‘housekeeping inconvenience’ and Alexandra is also out (ostensibly due to a heavy lady’s day). Lucia gradually gets more and more concerned the more the day deviates from her expectations.

CF and Lucia discuss if maybe Alexandra is reincarnated as well, regained her memories, and if she is possibly taking steps to protect herself. Lucia decides even if that’s the case, there’s not much Alexandra can do in just a day, and even if she’s somehow interfered with Mario, Roberto, and Balthazar, the prince is still on her side, she and CF just talked with the homeroom teacher, and there’s no way Alexandra can deal with ‘that one’ (Elias) in a day. So Lucia thinks it will be okay.

    CF thinks otherwise…

"Even so, what are you going to do? If she is also a reincarnated person who knows 'Dokiede', she will probably escape from the script of the reverse harem ending that Lucia created."

"Well... There's no need to panic yet."

Lucia stressed that there was still a good chance of winning.

The crown prince, who has been on the heroine's side throughout the entire route, is safe, and the homeroom teacher we had just met with did not seem to have changed in any way. Even if the worst-case scenario is that the king's younger brother has been taken out with countermeasures, she believes that two of them will be enough to hunt down the villainess.

"Besides. It's impossible to deal with ‘him’ in just one day."

"He's the last one you're going to capture, the one Lucia calls Dark?"

"Yes. It’s a pain in the ass even just to make him appear."

"I see. Then the game is still up in the air."

Lucia smiled happily at the thought of a bright future.

I, the one who is talking to her, smile at her.

But inwardly, I wonder if things will not go as smoothly as Lucia had hoped.

If, as I feared, Alexandra was trying to escape her doom by remembering her past life, she would try to eliminate all those who had feelings for Lucia as soon as possible.

If the absence of Balthasar and Robert is a result of this, then it is safe to assume that some steps are being taken against the other men whom Lucia refers to as her capture targets. Alexandra has the resources and connections to do so.

If the plot fails, Lucia will be the fool who fearfully defied the daughter of a duke.

    "I love you, Lucia."

That's exactly what I'd like to see happen, though.

Here we get some backstory on Lucia and CF growing up together. CF was a poor aristocrat who was looked down on by others. Lucia, who spoke bluntly and honestly without concern for herself or their status, was very new to CF, and they were able to speak frankly and honestly with each other, so a friendship quickly developed. Lucia's knowledge, coming from a world far more advanced than CF’s, more or less makes her come across as a genius - there’s a series of memories of Lucia casually talking about the concept of zero, curvature of the horizon, and even making a paper airplane, which kind of blows CF’s mind. Lucia shrugs and gives credit to smart people from her world, but CF is still sort of awestruck.

CF also finds Lucia’s way of talking about the future very attractive, and they spend hours exchanging opinions. CF at first finds the idea that Lucia will marry the Crown Prince surprising, if not absurd, but is drawn in by Lucia’s confidence, and ultimately acts as her advisor. They spend extensive amounts of time talking about [Doki Ede] and strategies and about how Lucia should act or what should she do or who should she pursue.

CF asks if they appear in [Doki Ede] and is told 'no'.
But…CF realized at some point that they love Lucia. They also realize that Lucia only acts according to [Doki Ede] and sees nothing else past that - so if they want Lucia for themself, they have to move in a way outside of [Doki Ede]. And here we get flat out evidence that CF is planning to betray Lucia. They have been planning to disrupt the event so it ends in the heroine’s defeat, which would leave only the CF by Lucia’s side. (This explains a few odd occurrences earlier, such as Gerard receiving a letter that Alfonso and Lucia plan to spend the night together which is how and why he confronts him - at first, it seems like Alexandra sent it, but then he remembers receiving a letter a year ago, well before A’s memories returned, warning Alfonso would eventually betray Alexandra).

The villainess’s memories returning was not part of CF’s plan, but they silently cheer her on.

I hid my love for her and remained her friend.

If Lucia was troubled, I would counsel her, if she was sad, I would comfort her, and if she was happy, I would be happy with her. I would smile back at her when she took it out on me when things didn't go her way.

But I am sorry. I must apologize to Lucia for one thing.

Because I am going to betray her.

I started preparing for this before Lucia attended the school where the Otome game takes place.

For some reason, I am stuck while Lucia acts as the heroine.

However, there is room for me to move in a way that is not described in "Doki Ede". I took advantage of this and planted the seeds little by little.

My goal was to create an event of absolution that would determine the heroine's fate.

Since Lucia had proceeded as the heroine and capture targets in accordance with "Doki-Ede," there was no room for me to intervene. Somehow, I need to bring about a development that is completely different from the flow of Otome games.

If I succeed, the condemnation event will be overturned in favor of the heroine's defeat. Lucia will be forced to leave her capture targets, leaving only me by her side.

I will have my beloved Lucia to myself forever. All I had to do was to watch the decimation play out.

However, my secret plan has now taken an unexpected turn.

Lucia, as a result of panicking when the condemnation event didn’t go as planned, was banished by the queen to a monastery and she is miserable there (and also pregnant, thanks to one night with Alfonso). It’s very austere living, and there’s no one to shower love on her which is all she wants in the world. She sobs and complains a lot, and insists Alfonso will come rescue her, even though everyone around her is like, he got captured by the enemy, he’s not coming any time soon.

CF meanwhile, is delighted, and more or less tells Lucia this is ideal.

Lucia seems to finally notice something is kind of fishy - what is CF even doing here? Are they a stalker?

CF sort of tsks, like, you know, I know everything about Lucia, and Lucia doesn’t really seem to know anything about me, like not even my gender….

Lucia starts to feel afraid, and finally asks who they are, and CF is basically like, what do you mean, we introduced ourselves a long, long time ago, and before I tell you who I am, why don’t you tell me who you are. Lucia says ‘Lucia, the baron’s daughter’ and CF thinks she is half right, half wrong - she is the reincarnated person who thinks of the life of ‘Lucia, the baron’s daughter’ as an extension of the one she was living previously.

The ‘childhood friend’ is the real Lucia - the fragments of memory and personality that were not (quite) overwritten completely by reincarnated Lucia, but which were overwhelmed. She could only act when ‘reincarnated’ Lucia was asleep, which is when she wrote letters to the other characters trying to interfere. But now that ‘Doke Ede’ is over, she has regained control, and reincarnated Lucia can’t escape her.

She seems to have an understandably fucked up/twisted love/hate for reincarnated!Lucia - on the one hand, admiring her confidence, on the other, uh, she stole her life, literally – I get the impression she doesn’t want to be OG!Lucia, she wants to be reincarnated!Lucia, who takes what she wants and loves selfishly. It’s several layers of creepy, even through MTL.

"That's terrible. We introduced ourselves to each other when we first met."

"...! Then why don't you say it again?"

"Well, before you do that, tell me again who Lucia is."

"Ah, I'm Lucia, the baron’s daughter."

    "No, you're not."

    "What?"

Lucia is the baron’s daughter? Half right, half wrong. Because Lucia also said that she is a reincarnated person.

The knowledge and personality of her previous life smeared over the consciousness of the girl who had been Baron's daughter Lucia until then, and hijacked it. The baron's daughter Lucia and the reincarnated person fused and were selected as the heroine.

    That is Lucia.

“Because, does Lucia recognize that she was originally ‘a baron’s daughter Lucia’?”

    "Well, that's..."

    No, she does not.

For Lucia, her current life is nothing more than an extension of her previous life. And it is only after she wakes up with a high fever that she is connected to her previous life. It's nothing more than a record, nothing more than the footsteps of a complete stranger…the memory before then is that to Lucia.

"The heroine can be anything the player chooses. She can be a mother, a sister, a queen, a saint, a witch. Whatever the capture target wants her to be. Isn't that what Lucia said?"

    "So what?"

"That's why I became Lucia's childhood friend, the one who would never leave her side, the one who would help her as she wished."

    "....... What?"

Now, remember. When was the last time I appeared? It was after you had recovered from your fever, wasn't it? And I only appeared to Lucia, right? Did Alfonso and the others recognize me? I followed, cajoled, encouraged, and supported Lucia all the way. Yes, because I ......

    "That's a lie."

"I wanted it. I wanted the 'me' that wasn't me. I wanted Lucia, who knew she was dazzling, and was always trying to make a wonderful dream come true."

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no!"

"Alfonso and the others are gone. I have only Lucia. Lucia has only me. Why would you want to change such a happy moment?"

Lucia finally understood exactly who I was in front of her. I understood. She understood.

I had the same face, the same build, the same voice.

And the same belly, swollen with the crown prince's and Lucia's child.

"I am the heroine of ‘my’ story."

    I am me.

    "Nooooo!"

Lucia exclaimed. She realized that she had been denied everything, that she had lost hope, and that there was no way to recover.

Looking at Lucia like that, I smiled and stood up and headed for the door. Just then there was a knock on the door, so I answered and opened it.. In the hallway was an elderly nun. She takes one look at me and the room, checks that the bedding is folded and that I am presentable. She smiled with satisfaction and lightly nodded her head. I bow at the same time.

    "Good morning."

"Good morning, Lucia-san. Have you done your morning prayers?"

    I nod to her.

"Very well. Then let's head out to make breakfast.""

    "Yes, ma’am."

The elderly nun went to the next room and knocked on the door in the same way.

With this scene of daily life in the corner of my eye, I closed the door to my empty room.

I am Lucia, but I am not Lucia.

Because when I developed a high fever, Lucia, the reincarnated Lucia, took control of my body. The only time I could regain my freedom was when I was unconscious, such as during sleep.

In this situation, I wrote letters to those who had influenced the characters in [Doki Ede], trying to find a way to separate me from Alfonso and the others. It seems that Gerard, the third prince, was the most affected by my advice.

But I did not expect him to change so much.

I also remember that the queen was quick to give up on Alfonso and Lucia, as if my advice had had an effect on her.

Well, the process is not important.

    Lu~ci~a~.

The important thing is that now that [Doki Ede] is over, I have regained control as the baron’s daughter Lucia, and now I'm the only one left.

Even if she had tried to escape while I was sleeping, she would not be able to do so in this environment.

This is the only personal space I am allowed, the place where I can meet Lucia.

I smile and nudge the door gently, lovingly.

    "See you tonight, Lucia."

This is how my, the real Lucia's, day begins.

I am very happy with my life.

Because I conquered Lucia, the person I love the most.

The ‘Childhood friend’ is just inside of Lucia’s head–literally. It’s OG Lucia who had her body taken over by the reincarnated person, who can only take control when reincarnated!Lucia is sleeping, and while at first she acted as kind of an advisor, she eventually began to do her best to sabotage reincarnated!Lucia in order to have her all to herself (whether this means having all of Lucia to herself, as in, wrestling back control of body from reincarnated!Lucia by breaking her spirit, or reincarnated!Lucia who she admires/hates, or a weird mix of both wasn’t completely clear, though I think it’s the latter personally)

Reincarnated Lucia ‘told’ her the heroine ‘could be whatever the player wanted’ so OGLucia made herself into the heroine’s friend.

So how does the 2nd kid thing happen if OG doesn't want to share Reincarnate!FL?
