    It's called sponsorships and advertising. and gaming and food had always been together (for the lifeless ones). Nothing wrong putting together your desires in a single medium.
    since playing with food is bad manners, they put food in games instead~

    advertising has always been a big factor in funing game dev and production. some are just more obvious than others.

    also popular characters ALWAYS end up in those fighting type game as playable bonus content, because thats just how shit goes :p

    Hasn't FF15 always been advertising for Nissin? If I recalled correctly, I've seen Nissin being advertised by FF15 characters even before the game itself was out. (The Japanese version might've already been published.)

    Advertising in gaming has been happening for a while. remember the Bawls energy drink billboards in Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel or the shameless apparel advertising in every sports game ever. Hell, Burger King had it's own games on xbox.
