I am slowly in the process of rereading this. The first 10-12 chapters are about their childhood but they extremely boring and slow. Someone has posted mtls for it so, I'll start the spoilers from the their adulthood.

It start with FL's family getting collapsed overnight. Her father is presumed dead but she thinks he is missing. He has left a huge debt behind. One of her father's friend, Vlad, visit her and sympathize with her for her loss. He offers her a business card saying that it is the least he can do for her. He leaves and soon after some people visit her home and start taking away all the possessions. She visits the location on mentioned on business card, it is an inn or a bar, and get a job as a maid/housekeeper. The place isn't much popular and the living conditions are bad. She doesn't even have bed in her room. But she still accept the offer as she has no where else to.

The very next day she is visited by Lancelot's attendant, Jill, who offers her sympathy on her condition. He asks her that she should come to Edenbahir household (That is the name of Lancelot's residence). At this point FL reveals that she had last seen Lancelot 2 years ago. She used to visit his residence every year but it stopped two years. She confessed her feelings to him 2 years ago and he rejected pretty coldly. He told her he doesn't love her not now and never in future, he says that he is making it clear so it doesn't affect their friendship with a feeling he can never return. She is embarrassed but acts like she isn't hurt. I think Lancelot also got engaged to someone else during this time. So it just got hard for her to continue visiting. She politely declines Jill's offer and thinks that she should not burden Lancelot. However, the attendant didn't come alone, she later notice that Lancelot is also there sitting in a corner.

He doesn't show his emotions but from his attitude it appears he is not happy to see her condition. He asked when was the last time she ate. He also looks around her room and asks her where did she sleep last night. He then tells FL to come with her and she again tries to reject but on much persistence she come along. That same day when she arrive at his home, they go to his office for a chat where ML suddenly propose her. This catches her off guard. But ML tells her that if she is his wife he can protect her better. FL is not ready to accept this proposal. His proposal also carried no emotions which irritated her. At that time she simply rejects by saying that she cannot accept a proposal without a ring. She also have no idea about Lancelot's intentions. She then leaves his office for the night.

After she leaves, ML's attendant asks ML if he is really want to marry FL just for his purpose. Lancelot did offer Anita all his protection but he also wants something from her which he hadn't mentioned yet. ML wants something from Anita that he can use to take down his grandmother and gain control of Edinburgh state. At time, ML does come off as bit jerk for having ulterior motives but we also never fully get to see inside his mind so it was unclear if he only want to use her.

The next day while taking a stroll around the mansion, the Duke, Lancelot's father's doctor visit her and hand her a note saying that it is from the Duke and she should not tell Lancelot about it. The note mentions that there is something important that his father has left behind for her. To find it she has to go to an amusement park and visit a vault with green lockers. She makes a plan to go their but doesn't inform Lancelot, she just tells that she is going out cause she is bored. At the park, she runs into Klaudia's younger sister, Sasha. Like her sister, Sasha is also on good terms with FL. Sasha is visiting the park with another noble lady named, Rose Eburg. Seeing Rose, FL is reminded of Rose's older sister. A painful memory comes to her, Rose's older sister was engaged to Lancelot. But this engagement didn't last long. This engagement was a much liked match by ML's grandmother. FL remembered how the grandma taunted FL that she is not worth of being around Lancelot and she should not be around him considering his status now. Rose is a bitchy character, she mocks FL's background and her condition after her father went missing. Rose soon leaves with a guy wearing mask and Sasha apologize on Rose's behalf.

After Sasha leaves FL makes her way to green locker. The park is known to have blue and red lockers. The green lockers were secret and only few knew about it. But before she can find them, the man who left with Rose earlier appraoch her. He has silver hair and wearing a mask. He tries to be friendly with FL and asks for her name. She doesn't tell him her real name and man figures out that she is wary of him. This man is completely acting sus, he even ask location for green vault but FL denies knowing it. After that she leaves and finally arrive at green lockers. Inside one of the lockers she find documents that state that her father has purchased a villa last year in another city. There were lots of investments made on this villa like new furniture was bought and some people were hired. She figures her father must be there. She then leaves taking the documents, outside the man from earlier is waiting for her. He says that she lied to him. I don't remember the conversation but soon after a little boy interrupts them and gives something to FL. It is a note from Lancelot telling her that he is waiting in carriage. FL is surprised and hurries to park enterance where Lancelot is waiting.

ML is concerned for her but he doesn't show it. Just says that she should not be going out alone. It is dangerous. He also ask her about the man she was talking to and she says she doesn't know him. A realization hit Anita that Lancelot sent a boy instead of coming to pick her himself. She figures that Lancelot knew the man in the park.

Soon after again Anita makes plan to leave without informing Lancelot. She gives a note to the same doctor and ask him to give it to Lancelot after she leaves. Anita only takes a gun and one servent with her and leaves with earliest train. It is 2 hours later that Lancelot finds out that Anita has left through his attendant. He is bit surprised but quickly hide his emotions. He inquires about it and the attendant tells that Anita might have found something about her father and left. The attendant assumes that Lancelot might want to follow her, a new train leaves every 6 hours so attendant ask if he should book a ticket for 3 pm train. But ML rejects it saying that he has a much important meeting at 6 which he cannot miss so he will leave at 9 pm train. The attendant is a bit shocked at his decision but complies. The meeting is with a middle aged duchess named Milenia and if he reschedule it then it will take months. It is mentioned that ML will always put work as his priority over anything else. At this point he again comes as cold but wait for it.

Anita arrives in the town mentioned in documents (I cannot remember the name of this town). The servent she brought along makes an excuse that he has a family in town and for some time leaves Anita on her own. She goes to villa alone but it is empty. She start looking for clues and find an envelope in a room and puts it in her bag. At this point, the servant comes back and approach her inquiring if she has found what she is looking. Anita says no. The servant is acting weird. He then ask if she needs carrying her bags but she declines and ask him to leave. Moments after the servant left, she notices that smoke is rising outside. Someone has started a fire which is slowly engulfing the villa. FL tries to leave but all the doors are locked by servant. She is on second floor and only window is her escape. She quickly picks up every fabric she find and make rope from it and jumps out the window.

Outside she finds the servant and points the gun at him. The servant mocks her saying that she can't shoot. She will become a killer and will be a bigger burden to Lancelot. FL hesitates and is ready to pull away but at that moment someone takes gun from her and shoots the servant. Turns out it is Lancelot. He gives a mini lecture to FL that if someone tried to killed her, she shouldn't hesitate to shoot. Then they go back home.

Anita figured that her assassination attempt wasn't random and there was a reason behind it. The document Anita found were her father's will and a key to take over something his father left behind called Callasgo Trust. She need the signature of three witnesses to get the control of this trust. If even one of the witness is missing or dies she can't get the control and if Anita dies then there is no problem left. This is why she was targeted. After reaching the home, the first thing ML does is beat up the doctor. He was involved in it and was tasked to get the will, the dr ask for forgiveness saying that he had no choice. ML knows that someone ordered him to do it, probably grandma. So he let go of the doctor telling him to inform his master that FL knows about the will and has it in her possession. I don't remember what was the purpose of it but it was better for them this way.

ML then explain the whole situation to her. ML's father, Ludwig and FL's father, Vincent were business partners. Sometime ago they started a huge trust organization called Callasgo trust. This is a very trusted place by many nobles. The grandmother wants the control of this org. But half the ownership went to Anita after her father went missing. ML explains that his father couldn't escape grandma's clutches but ML doesn't want the same fate. He wants to overthrow her grandma and take full control of Edinburgh household. Anita then understand that for that he needs control of investment management rights. FL herself has no idea about handing this organization and noble would not find her much trusty. Compare to her ML can handle it better. She then figures that this is why he wants the marriage.

ML doesn't deny it and tells her that this marriage will be mutually beneficial. He would help her with her revenge, find her father and give his full protection to her. When the time comes they can safely divorce and they would not have kids so that FL isn't bound to him by anything after divorce. The word divorce leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. Her heart feels heavy with his offer but she knows that it is for the best for both of them. So she agrees but says that his father won't agree. Then ML informs her that his father died on the day she left and he will have funeral soon. Anita is shocked to hear the news but doesn't have time to wrap her head around it cuz the next thing she knows she is preparing for funeral. My memory but Lancelot and Anita try to gain media attention after the funeral. Soon afterwards, ML publically proposes FL. With a ring. He acts out his line saying he loves her. Anita is truly shocked at this and for a moment wants to think it is real when it is not. She gladly accept the ring and then ML kiss her in front of everyone. Not exactly on the lips but just below the lip.

We go back to day Anita left to find her father. The duchess milenia arrive on time. She is very well known in the society and her household is known for sponsoring many gifted artists of their century. But as soon as she arrives, one of the servant comes running to ML and informs that the Duke has passed away. Duchess goes to deceased's room with ML and pays her condolences. The scene was much detailed but what happens is that ML make a connection with his father's death, FL going to amusement park and FL suddenly leaving. The one who passed FL's note is the doctor and someone also says that it was the dr who met up with FL few days ago. So questions the dr in not a very nice way. The dr panics and tries to lie that he knows nothing but ML doesn't believe him. The dr says that he is doing what is best for Edenbahir family. The ML then immediately ask his attendant to find the quickest ride that would take him to FL. The attendant say the next train is still in 3 hours but ML orders to find an earlier one otherwise he would come back with Anita's dead body. Anyway, the duchess is present during all this commotion. She had a good observation and figured out many things and situation between ML and FL. ML doesn't want to be bother with another reschedule with duchess so before he leaves he quickly makes his request to Duchess. He asks her to his wife. Probably because she has a lot of influence.

Then the next few chapters are wedding preparations. The dress Anita need to wear is same as the previous duchess but needs fitting. During the preparation, one day Fl is out and find out that the inn where she went to work closed down and is being investigated cuz the owner was involved in fraud and trafficking. They mainly target heavily debted ladies. So FL begins to doubt Vlad as well cuz he probably intentionally sent her here.

Before the wedding we also get to see the side of grandma and other relatives of ML. The grandma is obsessed with Edenbahir legacy. Their family and the royal family (Montevio) are decendent of dragons called Nuavjo. The Edenbahir are stronger than Montevio yet Edenbahir is serving the royals. She finds Lancelot and his father weak to rule their family. She thinks no one else can understand the true meaning of their family. Lancelot's aunt Matilda and his father's cousin, Norman are involved with grandma's plan (I am not sure the exact relation of Norman. It only mentioned that he is the cousin of Matilda and Matilda is sister of ML's father). Among these two Matilda seems sane, but Norman clearly hate Lancelot and his father cuz he always felt inferior to them. Grandma probably wants Matilda to take over the household so she can keep the control of their house.

The wedding day finally arrives but the dress FL is wearing is extremely tight on the chest area even after the fitting. She has problem breathing but she tries to make it through the ceremony. The wedding ceremony involves handing a sword and a sheath to the groom by the brides mother and father. But considering the circumstances, it is the bride that is handed the sword and sheath. The one who would be doing this are Matilda and Norman. Norman is the first to hand her the sword, during this he introduce himself to Anita but she knows he doesn't approve of her. Lancelot try to warn him off in his own way by swing the sword toward him. This scares him and he quickly leaves the stage. Then Matilda climb the stage to hand the sheath while taking it, FL feels extreme dizziness taking over her. She slightly moves from her spot and the exact moment a loud gunshot is heard. The target was again Anita but the assassin missed her and it grazed Matilda's neck. The whole ceremony becomes chaos and Lancelot takes Anita to cover. He looks extremely worried about her and Anita mentions that he never showed this kind of worry before.

Matilda is scared as hell, the wound on her neck isn't fatal. FL goes to Matilda and tells ML that they are going back inside the Duchy while ML investigates the scene. When they arrive inside, one of the servant runs toward FL and tries to give her a key. Saying that Lancelot gave it to him and it is the key to all rooms on 2nd floor. But FL feels something odd about the servant, she has heard his voice somewhere before. So instead of taking the key, she asks him his name. The servant is confused but tells his name. She asks it two more times. Then she remembers the voice, it is the same guy who she met in the park. FL pushes Matilda behind her and quickly lifts her gown and grabs the revolver holstered to her thigh. She points the gun at the man. The man find this situation interesting and says that she would probably not shoot him. Soon after few policemen also arrive in the duchy and seeing the situation try to apprehend the man but he is way too quick. He quickly disarm the cops and knock them out. He then holds Matilda hostage. Again believing that FL can't shoot him, he casually asks FL for her name in return he would let go of Matilda. FL again lies about her name and soon after shoots him. The shot hits his ear and he let go of Matilda. The weird guy find it amusing and runs to FL and overpowers her. He tells her that she is the first woman to hit her so he would let her live. Before he leaves he tells her his name is Sigmund.

Anita lose conciousness after this and she has a dream about their childhood days. She and Klaudia were once talking about Nuavjo legend. In this legend, the twins were seen as a sin. So when a twin is born in Nuavjo clan they would kill one of them. This tradition was later followed by decendents of this clan including royal family and ML's family. ML looks annoyed during this conversation according to Anita. It is hinted that ML might have twin brother as well.

He then holds Matilda hostage. Again believing that FL can't shoot him, he casually asks FL for her name in return he would let go of Matilda. FL again lies about her name and soon after shoots him. The shot hits his ear and he let go of Matilda. The weird guy find it amusing and runs to FL and overpowers her. He tells her that she is the first woman to hit her so he would let her live. Before he leaves he tells her his name is Sigmund.

Anita lose conciousness after this and she has a dream about their childhood days. She and Klaudia were once talking about Nuavjo legend. In this legend, the twins were seen as a sin. So when a twin is born in Nuavjo clan they would kill one of them. This tradition was later followed by decendents of this clan including royal family and ML's family. ML looks annoyed during this conversation according to Anita. It is hinted that ML might have twin brother as well.

No he is the twin brother of current crown prince of Hespain. The neighboring kingdom to Montevio.

FL only thought that ML might have a twin cuz he is touchy about the subject.

I am slowly in the process of rereading this. The first 10-12 chapters are about their childhood but they extremely boring and slow. Someone has posted mtls for it so, I'll start the spoilers from the their adulthood.

It start with FL's family getting collapsed overnight. Her father is presumed dead but she thinks he is missing. He has left a huge debt behind. One of her father's friend, Vlad, visit her and sympathize with her for her loss. He offers her a business card saying that it is the least he can do for her. He leaves and soon after some people visit her home and start taking away all the possessions. She visits the location on mentioned on business card, it is an inn or a bar, and get a job as a maid/housekeeper. The place isn't much popular and the living conditions are bad. She doesn't even have bed in her room. But she still accept the offer as she has no where else to.

The very next day she is visited by Lancelot's attendant, Jill, who offers her sympathy on her condition. He asks her that she should come to Edenbahir household (That is the name of Lancelot's residence). At this point FL reveals that she had last seen Lancelot 2 years ago. She used to visit his residence every year but it stopped two years. She confessed her feelings to him 2 years ago and he rejected pretty coldly. He told her he doesn't love her not now and never in future, he says that he is making it clear so it doesn't affect their friendship with a feeling he can never return. She is embarrassed but acts like she isn't hurt. I think Lancelot also got engaged to someone else during this time. So it just got hard for her to continue visiting. She politely declines Jill's offer and thinks that she should not burden Lancelot. However, the attendant didn't come alone, she later notice that Lancelot is also there sitting in a corner.

He doesn't show his emotions but from his attitude it appears he is not happy to see her condition. He asked when was the last time she ate. He also looks around her room and asks her where did she sleep last night. He then tells FL to come with her and she again tries to reject but on much persistence she come along. That same day when she arrive at his home, they go to his office for a chat where ML suddenly propose her. This catches her off guard. But ML tells her that if she is his wife he can protect her better. FL is not ready to accept this proposal. His proposal also carried no emotions which irritated her. At that time she simply rejects by saying that she cannot accept a proposal without a ring. She also have no idea about Lancelot's intentions. She then leaves his office for the night.

After she leaves, ML's attendant asks ML if he is really want to marry FL just for his purpose. Lancelot did offer Anita all his protection but he also wants something from her which he hadn't mentioned yet. ML wants something from Anita that he can use to take down his grandmother and gain control of Edinburgh state. At time, ML does come off as bit jerk for having ulterior motives but we also never fully get to see inside his mind so it was unclear if he only want to use her.

The next day while taking a stroll around the mansion, the Duke, Lancelot's father's doctor visit her and hand her a note saying that it is from the Duke and she should not tell Lancelot about it. The note mentions that there is something important that his father has left behind for her. To find it she has to go to an amusement park and visit a vault with green lockers. She makes a plan to go their but doesn't inform Lancelot, she just tells that she is going out cause she is bored. At the park, she runs into Klaudia's younger sister, Sasha. Like her sister, Sasha is also on good terms with FL. Sasha is visiting the park with another noble lady named, Rose Eburg. Seeing Rose, FL is reminded of Rose's older sister. A painful memory comes to her, Rose's older sister was engaged to Lancelot. But this engagement didn't last long. This engagement was a much liked match by ML's grandmother. FL remembered how the grandma taunted FL that she is not worth of being around Lancelot and she should not be around him considering his status now. Rose is a bitchy character, she mocks FL's background and her condition after her father went missing. Rose soon leaves with a guy wearing mask and Sasha apologize on Rose's behalf.

After Sasha leaves FL makes her way to green locker. The park is known to have blue and red lockers. The green lockers were secret and only few knew about it. But before she can find them, the man who left with Rose earlier appraoch her. He has silver hair and wearing a mask. He tries to be friendly with FL and asks for her name. She doesn't tell him her real name and man figures out that she is wary of him. This man is completely acting sus, he even ask location for green vault but FL denies knowing it. After that she leaves and finally arrive at green lockers. Inside one of the lockers she find documents that state that her father has purchased a villa last year in another city. There were lots of investments made on this villa like new furniture was bought and some people were hired. She figures her father must be there. She then leaves taking the documents, outside the man from earlier is waiting for her. He says that she lied to him. I don't remember the conversation but soon after a little boy interrupts them and gives something to FL. It is a note from Lancelot telling her that he is waiting in carriage. FL is surprised and hurries to park enterance where Lancelot is waiting.

ML is concerned for her but he doesn't show it. Just says that she should not be going out alone. It is dangerous. He also ask her about the man she was talking to and she says she doesn't know him. A realization hit Anita that Lancelot sent a boy instead of coming to pick her himself. She figures that Lancelot knew the man in the park.

Soon after again Anita makes plan to leave without informing Lancelot. She gives a note to the same doctor and ask him to give it to Lancelot after she leaves. Anita only takes a gun and one servent with her and leaves with earliest train. It is 2 hours later that Lancelot finds out that Anita has left through his attendant. He is bit surprised but quickly hide his emotions. He inquires about it and the attendant tells that Anita might have found something about her father and left. The attendant assumes that Lancelot might want to follow her, a new train leaves every 6 hours so attendant ask if he should book a ticket for 3 pm train. But ML rejects it saying that he has a much important meeting at 6 which he cannot miss so he will leave at 9 pm train. The attendant is a bit shocked at his decision but complies. The meeting is with a middle aged duchess named Milenia and if he reschedule it then it will take months. It is mentioned that ML will always put work as his priority over anything else. At this point he again comes as cold but wait for it.

Anita arrives in the town mentioned in documents (I cannot remember the name of this town). The servent she brought along makes an excuse that he has a family in town and for some time leaves Anita on her own. She goes to villa alone but it is empty. She start looking for clues and find an envelope in a room and puts it in her bag. At this point, the servant comes back and approach her inquiring if she has found what she is looking. Anita says no. The servant is acting weird. He then ask if she needs carrying her bags but she declines and ask him to leave. Moments after the servant left, she notices that smoke is rising outside. Someone has started a fire which is slowly engulfing the villa. FL tries to leave but all the doors are locked by servant. She is on second floor and only window is her escape. She quickly picks up every fabric she find and make rope from it and jumps out the window.

Outside she finds the servant and points the gun at him. The servant mocks her saying that she can't shoot. She will become a killer and will be a bigger burden to Lancelot. FL hesitates and is ready to pull away but at that moment someone takes gun from her and shoots the servant. Turns out it is Lancelot. He gives a mini lecture to FL that if someone tried to killed her, she shouldn't hesitate to shoot. Then they go back home.

Anita figured that her assassination attempt wasn't random and there was a reason behind it. The document Anita found were her father's will and a key to take over something his father left behind called Callasgo Trust. She need the signature of three witnesses to get the control of this trust. If even one of the witness is missing or dies she can't get the control and if Anita dies then there is no problem left. This is why she was targeted. After reaching the home, the first thing ML does is beat up the doctor. He was involved in it and was tasked to get the will, the dr ask for forgiveness saying that he had no choice. ML knows that someone ordered him to do it, probably grandma. So he let go of the doctor telling him to inform his master that FL knows about the will and has it in her possession. I don't remember what was the purpose of it but it was better for them this way.

ML then explain the whole situation to her. ML's father, Ludwig and FL's father, Vincent were business partners. Sometime ago they started a huge trust organization called Callasgo trust. This is a very trusted place by many nobles. The grandmother wants the control of this org. But half the ownership went to Anita after her father went missing. ML explains that his father couldn't escape grandma's clutches but ML doesn't want the same fate. He wants to overthrow her grandma and take full control of Edinburgh household. Anita then understand that for that he needs control of investment management rights. FL herself has no idea about handing this organization and noble would not find her much trusty. Compare to her ML can handle it better. She then figures that this is why he wants the marriage.

ML doesn't deny it and tells her that this marriage will be mutually beneficial. He would help her with her revenge, find her father and give his full protection to her. When the time comes they can safely divorce and they would not have kids so that FL isn't bound to him by anything after divorce. The word divorce leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. Her heart feels heavy with his offer but she knows that it is for the best for both of them. So she agrees but says that his father won't agree. Then ML informs her that his father died on the day she left and he will have funeral soon. Anita is shocked to hear the news but doesn't have time to wrap her head around it cuz the next thing she knows she is preparing for funeral. My memory but Lancelot and Anita try to gain media attention after the funeral. Soon afterwards, ML publically proposes FL. With a ring. He acts out his line saying he loves her. Anita is truly shocked at this and for a moment wants to think it is real when it is not. She gladly accept the ring and then ML kiss her in front of everyone. Not exactly on the lips but just below the lip.

We go back to day Anita left to find her father. The duchess milenia arrive on time. She is very well known in the society and her household is known for sponsoring many gifted artists of their century. But as soon as she arrives, one of the servant comes running to ML and informs that the Duke has passed away. Duchess goes to deceased's room with ML and pays her condolences. The scene was much detailed but what happens is that ML make a connection with his father's death, FL going to amusement park and FL suddenly leaving. The one who passed FL's note is the doctor and someone also says that it was the dr who met up with FL few days ago. So questions the dr in not a very nice way. The dr panics and tries to lie that he knows nothing but ML doesn't believe him. The dr says that he is doing what is best for Edenbahir family. The ML then immediately ask his attendant to find the quickest ride that would take him to FL. The attendant say the next train is still in 3 hours but ML orders to find an earlier one otherwise he would come back with Anita's dead body. Anyway, the duchess is present during all this commotion. She had a good observation and figured out many things and situation between ML and FL. ML doesn't want to be bother with another reschedule with duchess so before he leaves he quickly makes his request to Duchess. He asks her to his wife. Probably because she has a lot of influence.

Then the next few chapters are wedding preparations. The dress Anita need to wear is same as the previous duchess but needs fitting. During the preparation, one day Fl is out and find out that the inn where she went to work closed down and is being investigated cuz the owner was involved in fraud and trafficking. They mainly target heavily debted ladies. So FL begins to doubt Vlad as well cuz he probably intentionally sent her here.

Before the wedding we also get to see the side of grandma and other relatives of ML. The grandma is obsessed with Edenbahir legacy. Their family and the royal family (Montevio) are decendent of dragons called Nuavjo. The Edenbahir are stronger than Montevio yet Edenbahir is serving the royals. She finds Lancelot and his father weak to rule their family. She thinks no one else can understand the true meaning of their family. Lancelot's aunt Matilda and his father's cousin, Norman are involved with grandma's plan (I am not sure the exact relation of Norman. It only mentioned that he is the cousin of Matilda and Matilda is sister of ML's father). Among these two Matilda seems sane, but Norman clearly hate Lancelot and his father cuz he always felt inferior to them. Grandma probably wants Matilda to take over the household so she can keep the control of their house.

The wedding day finally arrives but the dress FL is wearing is extremely tight on the chest area even after the fitting. She has problem breathing but she tries to make it through the ceremony. The wedding ceremony involves handing a sword and a sheath to the groom by the brides mother and father. But considering the circumstances, it is the bride that is handed the sword and sheath. The one who would be doing this are Matilda and Norman. Norman is the first to hand her the sword, during this he introduce himself to Anita but she knows he doesn't approve of her. Lancelot try to warn him off in his own way by swing the sword toward him. This scares him and he quickly leaves the stage. Then Matilda climb the stage to hand the sheath while taking it, FL feels extreme dizziness taking over her. She slightly moves from her spot and the exact moment a loud gunshot is heard. The target was again Anita but the assassin missed her and it grazed Matilda's neck. The whole ceremony becomes chaos and Lancelot takes Anita to cover. He looks extremely worried about her and Anita mentions that he never showed this kind of worry before.

At this moment servant next to her says that he knows the address. FL ask if he is familiar with the place. He says yes and his grandma lives in town. She finds the coincident odd but still they make way to villa. But it is empty. She start looking for clues upstairs while servant looks downstair. She doesn't find anything at first and giving up goes to her old room, there goes toward a creaking chair under it she made a secret hiding place long ago. She opens it and is reminiscing about her childhood but to her surprise there is also a document tucked under there. She picks it up and put it in bag. At this point, the servant upstairs and inquired if she has found what she is looking. Anita says no. The servant is acting weird. He then ask if she needs carrying her bags (the bag contains gun) but she declines and ask him to leave. Moments after the servant left, she notices that smoke is rising outside. Only then she put the hints together (wagons got burned, servants family live in town, he is trying to take away her bag and overly concerned about what she is looking for) and realize that servant is traitor. The ML then immediately ask his attendant to find the quickest ride that would take him to FL. The attendant say the next train is still in 3 hours but ML orders to find an earlier one otherwise he would come back with Anita's dead body. Anyway, the duchess is present during all this commotion. She had a good observation and figured out many things and situation between ML and FL. ML doesn't want to be bother with another reschedule with duchess so before he leaves he quickly makes his request to Duchess. He asks her to his wife. Probably because she has a lot of influence.

Then the next few chapters are wedding preparations. The dress Anita need to wear is same as the previous duchess but needs fitting. During the preparation, one day Fl is out and find out that the inn where she went to work closed down and is being investigated cuz the owner was involved in fraud and trafficking. They mainly target heavily debted ladies. So FL begins to doubt Vlad as well cuz he probably intentionally sent her here.

Before the wedding we also get to see the side of grandma and other relatives of ML. The grandma is obsessed with Edenbahir legacy. Their family and the royal family (Montevio) are decendent of dragons called Nuavjo. The Edenbahir are stronger than Montevio yet Edenbahir is serving the royals. She finds Lancelot and his father weak to rule their family. She thinks no one else can understand the true meaning of their family. Lancelot's aunt Matilda and his father's cousin, Norman are involved with grandma's plan (I am not sure the exact relation of Norman. It only mentioned that he is the cousin of Matilda and Matilda is sister of ML's father). Among these two Matilda seems sane, but Norman clearly hate Lancelot and his father cuz he always felt inferior to them. Grandma probably wants Matilda to take over the household so she can keep the control of their house.

The wedding day finally arrives but the dress FL is wearing is extremely tight on the chest area even after the fitting. She has problem breathing but she tries to make it through the ceremony. The wedding ceremony involves handing a sword and a sheath to the groom by the brides mother and father. But considering the circumstances, it is the bride that is handed the sword and sheath. The one who would be doing this are Matilda and Norman. Norman is the first to hand her the sword, during this he introduce himself to Anita but she knows he doesn't approve of her. Lancelot try to warn him off in his own way by swing the sword toward him. This scares him and he quickly leaves the stage. Then Matilda climb the stage to hand the sheath while taking it, FL feels extreme dizziness taking over her. She slightly moves from her spot and the exact moment a loud gunshot is heard. The target was again Anita but the assassin missed her and it grazed Matilda's neck. The whole ceremony becomes chaos and Lancelot takes Anita to cover. He looks extremely worried about her and Anita mentions that he never showed this kind of worry before.

Matilda is scared as hell, the wound on her neck isn't fatal. FL goes to Matilda and tells ML that they are going back inside the Duchy while ML investigates the scene. When they arrive inside, one of the servant runs toward FL and tries to give her a key. Saying that Lancelot gave it to him and it is the key to all rooms on 2nd floor. But FL feels something odd about the servant, she has heard his voice somewhere before. So instead of taking the key, she asks him his name. The servant is confused but tells his name. She asks it two more times. Then she remembers the voice, it is the same guy who she met in the park. FL pushes Matilda behind her and quickly lifts her gown and grabs the revolver holstered to her thigh. She points the gun at the man. The man find this situation interesting and says that she would probably not shoot him. Soon after few policemen also arrive in the duchy and seeing the situation try to apprehend the man but he is way too quick. He quickly disarm the cops and knock them out. He then holds Matilda hostage. Again believing that FL can't shoot him, he casually asks FL for her name in return he would let go of Matilda. FL again lies about her name and soon after shoots him. The shot hits his ear and he let go of Matilda. The weird guy find it amusing and runs to FL and overpowers her. He tells her that she is the first woman to hit her so he would let her live. Before he leaves he tells her his name is Sigmund.

Anita lose conciousness after this and she has a dream about their childhood days. She and Klaudia were once talking about Nuavjo legend. In this legend, the twins were seen as a sin. So when a twin is born in Nuavjo clan they would kill one of them. This tradition was later followed by decendents of this clan including royal family and ML's family. ML looks annoyed during this conversation according to Anita. It is hinted that ML might have twin brother as well.

No it is not even her thinking. It is more of the case that she strongly believes that ML won't ever love her and she has been a burden to him so she start planning to leave. Can't fully blame her cuz ML has hard time saying the L word till the end. But she finally left in 130th chapter. Even then it felt unnecessary cuz story revolved around many other things like assassinations, kidnappings, finding 3 witnesses and scheming while these 2 were being power couple. The probably forgot about synopsis as well and in the last minute put this in. Even some K readers said that there are inconsistencies from prologue. Like how FL mentioned in prologue that she is leaving and she and ML never slept together during their marriage but they did indeed slept together before she left.

Anita wakes up two days later. When she wakes up she notice Lancelot by her bedside. From his looks it seems that he has been on the same spot for a while. The usually composed and perfectly dressed lancelot looked a little sluggish to her. Lancelot tells her that he tore and burned the dress as well that made her faint. He informs her that they are currently looking for the assassin and aunt Matilda is also doing fine. Seeing ML by her side she feels oddly contended over the fact that they are married now. She then ask ML to leave the room so she can wash up but ML informs her that it is his room and thinking that she stayed for 2 days in his room makes her blush. She apologize and try to leave but he stops her telling her that they are married now they will live here together, wash up, get sick, and sleep together. On this FL immediately reminds him of the divorce changing the mood of conversation. She couldn't make out ML's expression but she herself get hurt when he affirms it. He then told her that they would externally appear to live together but in reality his room is next door.

By this point FL has befriend countess milenia and she helped her with wedding preparations. She remember that countess told her that spouse keep separate room in nobility for privacy. From what I understand FL conclude that ML might need separate room in case he got a lover. She cannot tolerate this so she thinks they both need to respect each other's privacy more. She tells ML that she want to put more distance between the rooms. Hearing this ML looks completely pissed and he might be assuming that Anita will bring a lover in future. However he accepts her request. After this he informs her that they have to make a trip to Hicksen where imperial palace is located, pay respect to royals and pledge loyalty as duchess.

Then ML is ready to leave and covers Anita's bare shoulders (she realized late that she is only in a slip). Before leaving he informs her that he won't stop her from doing anything, she will have full freedom to use his estate and power. But as long as she is a duchess she should remember that she is his woman. After he leaves Anita calls herself pathetic for getting excited on hearing this possessive claim from ML.

So the next few days it become normal for Anita to spend the nights alone as per her request. Lancelot respected the privacy so much that he doesn't even go in her room at all. Anita feels sad that even as married person she is lonely. Is it really respect when a couple don't share the same bed. But she scolds herself whenever she gets such thoughts cuz Lancelot doesn't love her. It is hard marrying someone you don't live but it would be abuse sleeping in same bed with person you don't love (My girl is kinda masochist). On outside they are a perfect couple. But Anita realize that this external love is even more painful for her.

At breakfast, the next day she brings up the subject of sharing the room. She propose that they should at least appear to share the same room cuz maids and servants are watching and it might leave bad impression. He does remind her that it was her idea but agrees.

He also tells her that since they are going to the Hikensen he would hire a teacher for her. The teacher he hired was once the lady in waiting for Queen. Anita feels a pressure on her but ML reminds her that she is his duchess, his power is hers. She doesn't need to be scared or worried about anything. Anita also remembers that her father also used to say that if you show weakness then the people will advantage of it. So after this her training starts. It is pretty tough one since they have to leave for palace in one week and she usually end being exhausted after taking them.

One day she barely has any strength left and her shoulders feel stiff. Her teacher is strict with etiquettes. She has zero energy and just fall in her bed instantly falling asleep. She wake up late next day and hears ML's voice. He ask her that she can rest more. He is in her room reading something. Anita feels ashamed for sleeping for a long time. But ML again reminds her that not to push herself and she should take it easy. He also mentions that he enjoys seeing her sleeping face cuz it is like she is sleeping in his room (?) which again makes her blush. ML then talk about the letter he received from one of the noble named Luther. The letter mentions that ML should come to capital quickly as there are some rumors about callasgo trust among other nobles. So he plans to go to capital early.

ML and FL have to show their loyalty to royal family in the ceremony. This ceremony involves offering a golden sword to the royals. This sword should be in a maple wood box wrapped in a cloth with silver and gold embroidery. The management and crafting is upto Edenbahir family. Since Anita is new and there is no way grandma (her name is veronica btw, I'll refer her as veronica from this point on) would trust her. Veronica mocks Anita saying that she is barely learning etiquette. She can't possible maintain and craft the sword. She will do it instead. However, it will be Anita's responsibility to transfer this sword to Hicksen.

Anita talks about the sword with her teacher who tells her its history. It is always newly crafted and it shows completely loyalty to royal family. But like Anita even the teacher has doubt about Veronica's intentions.

After sometime Countess Milenia visit FL. She brought a painting with her and shows it to Anita. At first she doesn't understand it but soon started to see the meaning. The painting shows a golden skinned man holding a sword, this man has a limp. In legends a golden skin man represent Nuaze. But behind this man is another golden skin man, hiding from the other man's sight and pointing its sword to man. This represent the twin of Nuaze who was seen as as sin and a traitor.

Anita ask what the countess is trying to tell her. Then countess as Anita if she even knows why she decided to help ML? It was because the ML claimed that he will make sure that Anita will get the full support of the current queen and having ties with Anita will benefit the countess as well. The countess was doubtful at first but she herself verified the possibility and agreed to help.

Anita is hearing this the first time. But she soon make the connection. It is known that currently Grandma and Queen are at odds. The circle of nobility is also divided between them. In the current situation, Edenbahir has a really good chance to snatch the throne. The current king and his son are only child. Plus the crown prince also have a limp so it can shake his standing. Edenbahir family has same power as imperial family so it can go to their head of family, Veronica. Therefore, the queen is always anxious cause ML is the only one that can succeed the crown prince. The painting countess showed her is representing queen and ML or grandma as the spy. Anita completely makes the connection and conclude that ML plans on swearing loyalty to Queen and givr up his rights to the throne in ceremony. This will make Anita's standing stronger. Countess Milenia is impressed with her. Before the countess leaves, Anita requests that she keep the painting to which she agrees. During this convo Anita also ask about Luther and Milenia tells her that he is from Veronica''s circle. So that letter might not be a coincidence.

The following days Anita receives letter from Veronica stating that she and Lancelot would be leaving earlier. Anita should come next day with the sword. The one accompanying her is Norman. Both ML and FL are not happy about it and know that Veronica is plotting something. However ML has to comply and leave. He again tells FL to be careful and not overdo herself. After that FL asks Jill to give her the schedule for maids for today and next day. She also requests the blueprints of mansion.

Next day Norman arrives at the mansion very late. They only have few minutes before the train leaves so he know the duchess have to make haste. But when he enters the mansion he hears the staff talking that the sword went missing. Norman appears to be shocked and upset but at the same time he feels a bit superior. Cuz he is cousin to dead Duke and such matters could never be discussed in front of him. So seeing the staff telling this to him makes him feel he has influence. Norman use this opportunity to scold and ridicule Anita. He is already being disrespectful by calling the duchess directly by name but he just see Anita way below him. When he talks about missing sword to anita, she says that she knows and acts calm. He thinks that it is due to her upbringing that she is isn't understanding the situation and mocks her back ground and say Lancelot married a lowly woman.

He comes up with a plan saying that he had a hunch that this might happen cuz Anita is irresponsible so he prepared a fake in advance. He ask butler to bring in the box. This box has a sword but it is clearly visible that it is painted over and over with yellow. Presenting this would ridicule the royal family just like Veronica planned. But Anita says that sword is in the mansion and ask the staff to search. The staff come back saying they found nothing. The time is tight so Norman know that she has no choice but to leave with fake sword. But Anita remains calm and says it will take only five mins. She knows where the sword is and ask Norman to follow. Together with attendants they go to the 4th floor. On the way she mentions that the maids change curtains for duchy once a month. But for some reason the maids on this floor changed curtains yesterday. Norman says that it must be cuz month is over. But she reminds him that the last change was a week ago on their wedding and maids only changed west wing of 4th floor. The rooms far away from swords location. Also they have used autumn curtain that are thick. Norman is sweating at this point but doesn't say anything.

Norman asked a maid to hide the sword and made the whole preparation of arriving late in the duchy. This way they won't have time to search and they could leave with fake sword. But the plan failed cuz searching the rooms, the servant finds the missing sword on the wall behind the curtain. The FL had earlier warned that those responsible for missing sword would be punished, at that time Norman was haughty that it means FL would end up punishing herself. But now the sword is found so the blame can go to norman.

He quickly tries to cover up saying that the person responsible should come out now. But FL interrupts him saying that she will fire the whole staff that was responsible for 1st, 3rd and 4th floor. She also mentioned how this staff was introduced through Norman's connections. Norman thinks she is trying to threaten him so again humiliate her with her poor background but FL says that she is not blaming him instead his connection. She tells him that she would hire a new staff herself. This makes Norman panic cuz he already have weak position so maintaining this connection is important plus if she fired the staff he won't have his eyes and ears in mansion anymore. He says that he will find new person for hiring but FL rejects saying if ML heard about it then things would get worse. He thinks she is trying to threaten him will ML. But she clarify that if he suddenly kick out 20 people on same day then ML would get involved and the matter may leak to media who is already looking for dirt on nobles. Veronica would be pissed if she saw such article. So she should solve this matter internally with her staff. Norman knows he cannot do anything cuz he doesn't want to face Veronica''s wrath about it so he just simply complies.

After this they go to Hicksen. When FL get off the train, she has trouble getting through the crowd but ML has arrived to pick her up and he holds her in her arm while the crowd pass by them. FL feels comfortable surrounded by ML's warmth and scent. She ask ML why he came by himself he could send someone else. He just says that his wife arrived in an unknown place first time. He couldn't leave her alone. On the way to palace, FL tells ML everything that went down in their home. The ML is concerned for FL but she tells him that she handled the situation without raising any suspicion and she was able to fool Norman. While ML is listening to FL, he suddenly admires her lips and say that she has nice mouth (The guy really doesn't know how to express himself). This makes FL flush and excited but she just keeps reminding herself that Lancelot doesn't love her again and again.

After reaching the palace, they meet the queen. The queen and lancelot are on friendly terms and trust each other. The Queen then admire's FL's beauty and ask ML where he found such a beautiful girl. He replies that she has always been by his side Then they talk about the whole situation with Veronica. FL and ML tells her everything that happened in mansion so far and queen is completely on their side to take down Veronica. The queen then gives the honor of taking the 3rd dance in her birthday banquet. This is a big deal cause on banquets the first dance is by king and queen, followed by CP and his fiance, and the 3rd couple to do it should have really high rank and respectable member of society that have image to maintain. So in other words this should go to Veronica. The FL doesn't want to become center of attention as it will create vile gossips about her so she denies it instead she ask for fourth dance. FL also has some plan so she cannot take the 3rd dance.

The birthday is few days away so till then ML and FL have to stay in palace. However they are given a single room with one bed and this create another panic in FL. However, ML makes an excuse that he has to stay out almost every night giving her different reasons and only showing up the next day. This puts FL's mind at much ease and finally the day of birthday comes. On the birthday, first a ceremony is held where ML and FL pledge loyalty to king and queen and give them golden sword. During this ML also announce that he is renouncing his rights to throne. Veronica is not happy about this and everyone in the hall figures it. After that birthdag banquet begins and Veronica decides to create a scene for FL and put her in her place. When it is her turn to dance, she choose Lancelot as her partner. This is a great disrespect to Anita as he is newly married and his first dance should be his wife. This is just to show that Anita has no value in their household. FL keeps it together. However, ML doesn't show up in banquet hall at all and completely ditch the event. Much to Veronica's humiliation. Then it is revealed that a day prior, FL and ML had a conversation where they discuss the same thing that Veronica will ask for dance. ML said he would deny it but FL urged him not to cause this way people would turn against her for disrespecting his elder and choosing love over family. ML was strictly against the idea still and FL finds it funny that he just didn't show up at all.

After each dance, the person is also supposed to give gift to queen. The gift Veronica gives to queen is exactly the same painting as the one FL prepared. The countess is with FL when this happens and believes that the Veronica have created forgery of one of her artist's work. She is even ready to make a scene but FL stops her saying that it is not forgery and she'll handle it. The painting itself given by Veronica is a challenge to Queen. The queen mamages to keep her expression straight and smile as she received the gift. Then it is Anita's turn and seeing her gift cause a drama in the hall. Everyone is talking how the paintings are same. FL is accused of forgery but she denies it and this time she says that she won't tolerate the humiliation by Veronica. She cannot bear the insult against her husband and their household. So she sues Veronica of forgery just like Veronica sued her. The things are getting out of hand so Queen suggest to bring in the painter and he will tell which is real and forgery.

After this drama, it is revealed that FL did all this to summon a specific lawyer. This lawyer is named George Farge and her father mentioned in his note to find him. But this lawyer everytime she asked for him refused to meet her so orchastrated this event. This way she can have a royal permit to summon him to the palace. The painting was not forgery, few days ago, FL was going through family ledger and noticed that there are some holes and money is leaking every where. Unfortunately, ML is busy with other affairs so he couldn't see things happening in household. Most of this money is withdrawn by Veronica and she has bough some paintings from an aspiring artist that countess milenia is sponsoring. FL also heard some rumors that Veronica might be planning on starting her own sponsorship soon. Anyway, FL pays visit to this painter who at first doesn't pay attention to her and she has to show him the scandalous news articles about her and ML to get his attention. This guy is currently painting another painting for Veronica, FL manages to gain sympathy from this artist and request that he makes a similar painting for her but with minor changes. The painter agrees on the condition that FL would let him write a play about her life. He is a playwriter as well, FL agrees on condition he doesn't show her husband in bad light. Then we return to present day.

While FL is waiting for lawyer to arrive, the scene shifts to Sasha (Claudia's sister), Rose and another new character named Bimarck. Bimarck has just returned to kingdom from his training and he is engaged to Sasha. This guy knows about FL and is concerned about her when she is mentioned in a scandal. Rose as always is bad mouthing FL and reveals how this whole marriage with ML is fake, he cannot possibly love her and is only using her for investment rights. Hearing this makes Bimarck hate ML and he just want to save FL from this man who believes is evil.

George, the lawyer shows up finally and is surprised to see the Duchess he had been ignoring for long time. FL reveals that Veronica has already taken back the case and let the matter slide. Still this was the only way to summon the lawyer. Veronica let go of this matter cuz if she persued and won, she would be remembered as someone who won a petty house fight but letting it go show her as someone of big and forgiving heart. FL tells the lawyer that she is the daughter of Vincent Boloni, an old friend of George. This surprised him and he apologizes for his early behavior, he says he was receiving request from a noble named Duchess Edenbahir, if she had sent a letter with her family name, he would have immediately came over. So Anita figures that George doesn't hate her, he just hate nobility for some reason. Anyway, George has to leave soon as his wife is sick so he ask for a later date. FL feel guilty for forcing a man taking care of his wife like this so she let him leave.

Later that day, FL fall asleep on the sofa and feels a cold touch of her face. She wakes up to see ML sitting next to her reading and supporting her chin with his hand. FL then quickly straighten up. She thinks how ML has been sleeping outside for days, the nobles might begin a rumor so she hope that he can sleep in his bed tonight. But she knows that ML would never let her sleep on sofa, they will have to share the bed and this is highly uncomfortable for her as she think that they will forcibly sleep together. She try to convince to ML to read later and fall asleep. This way she can sleep on sofa. She gets so emotional during this that she starts crying, ML takes it the wrong way and thinks she hate the idea of sleeping with him in same bed. He angrily gets up and walks to window saying that he won't sleep with her tonight or any other night so she can sleep peacefully now. FL then tells him that she didn't mean it that way, she is just too nervous around him. He doesn't answer, instead soon after he changes the topic. He mentions meeting Bimarck earlier. Hearing his name FL becames extremely happy, on the other hand ML's expression gets a bit grave. She makes it very clear that she cares about this guy, he had been her father's student and they are very close. She says that she missed him very much and can't wait to see him again. ML then in a bit rough voice say that Anita is so indifferent to him, she is happily mentioning another man's name in front of him and doesn't care. She cannot belive her ears and walks to him. She holds arm and tells him that he is taking this the wrong way. They are like brother and sister. After clearing this misunderstanding, ML just stare at her and mention that it is so frustrating that he cannot look inside Anita's head at all (the author subtely hinting that ML might have mind reading powers). They talk some more before finally ML manages to convince FL to sleep in the bed. He said that she can continue talking about Bimarck if she comes to bed. While on bed, these two instead of Bimarck talk about the Lawyer. FL plans to go alone but ML isn't agreeing. He says he will go too and will be disguised as her cousin.

Once in Lawyer's house, Anita notices several nice sketches on the shelf and George mentions that they were painted by his daughter who is dead now. Then he tells his life story. His daughter had gotten admission in one of the best art institutes. George worked very hard that year so he can pay the tuition. On the day, the daughter was supposed to go to academy, she was killed in an accident. The carriage that killed her belonged to a noble and turned out after his daughter's death, this noble's son was given the admission in that academy. George tried to sue them but he lacked evidence and judge was not ready to take his case either. He was soon started getting attacks on his work and house, some would even send him death threats. He again tried to sued and this time he had 5 witnessess. However, only 1 one of them was ready to show up and this was his neighbor. But on the day of the hearing this witness committed suicide which is highly unbelievable cuz only few days ago this guy was excited about upcoming wedding of his nephew. George then moved away from nobles and started a recluse life with his wife in countryside. He barely goes out. During his hard times, FL's father showed up and helped him with his whole situation with his daughter and that noble. He also helps him find good doctor for his wife and her sickness. The FL's father didn't reveal his reason just said that he will help him in the future so that is why he is helping FL.

FL is devasted by this story, however she still wants to make an offer to George. She wishes for him and his wife to move back to city and wants George to work for her and handle the ledgers. George again gets emotional and say that it is hard for him. In short, just trying to reject the offer. FL is ready to give up but at this point ML speaks up and call George hypocrite for his behavior. He cannot even repay his savior's and is just playing victim. FL tries to stop him but he says that he isn't doing anything wrond and he made the right decision to follow her. Cuz he knew FL would come back empty handed. George by now figures that it is duke himself not FL's cousin. While they are arguing, Georges wife comes in and she is the one who manages to convince George. She tells him how she doesn't like him being locked up like this and wasting his talent. She begs FL to take him cuz he knows many things and has a very deep knowledge about different stuff. George does agree but says he would need to study a little more before he joins FL. George's wife hands FL a key left by her father before FL leave. This key has the location engraved on it and her next stop is this location once she goes back to duchy.

FL is in a tea party with noble ladies few days later. I'll be honest I skipped this tea part mostly, the notable part is that Sasha mentions her engagement which surprise FL cuz she has been on regular contact with bimarck but he never mentioned it. At the end of it, it is late and ML comes to pick her up. She follows him as he holds a lantern thinking they are going to room but soon realizes that ML is going somewhere else and it is getting darker and darker. She is a little afraid of dark path so she starts talking to ML. While they converse, they reach the destination. It is the banquet hall with no light except for lantern.The scenary outside is beautiful with lake and moonlight. The ML then puts the lantern on window and ask FL for dance. He says that he wants to dance with her since she missed her chance last time and it was her debut to society. FL feels overwhelmed with happiness and she takes his hand. They both dance in silence for sometime. Each of them just staring at each othe and FL admiring ML's facial features and how much she likes being in his presence. With time she enjoys his company more and more. She then admits that she is glad she is married to him, without him she wouldn't be able to find anything about her father and would never be able to make a debut in such place. ML remains quiet. She also wonders that how she is glad that it is just him and ML dancing alone cuz if they were in front of people this dance wouldn't be so beautiful. She then thanks him and walks away toward the window. ML doesn't follow instead he stands there and ask why she is over there. She walks back to him and tries to make some joke but ML gently touch her face and say that he just want to look at her face right now. Her face looks like in love? FL tries to stay calm and says that she is his wife so yes he is allowed to admire her face and she also likes his face. Anyway after that the dance concludes and they walk back to room. However Anita notices something about ML's expression and realize that even knowing him for 10 years, he is hiding something from her.

The next day Ml and Fl leave the palace. Once they step out FL is completely frozen cuz she came across the guy who infiltrated their household on wedding day. But he is not injured and ML walks next to her and greet this man calling jim "His majesty". This guy is the crown prince of Hespain, named Reinhardt and a cousin of ML (Hespain is a neighoring empire to Montevio and much less less peaceful). This revelation shocks FL and she realize ML also has rights to Hespain throne. After a brief introduction and uncomfortable exchange with prince, ML and FL leave. On the way home, ML reveals a bit about her mother and how she died giving birth to his twin. ML's mom and veronica were always at odds cuz of Veronica's strong beliefs to legends. During the birth, Veronica was present with ML's mom. When she give birth to first child, Veronica refused the other one to be born and ML's mother didn't even get facilities to make the birth easier. She was arguing with Veronica while giving birth and it got so difficult that soon after she died along with the baby. Their death devasted ML's father too. He was in love with his wife and his relationship with his mom got worse. The twins are completely considered a sin but somehow the prince of Hespain and his twin is alive.

After ML and FL left, Reinhardt met the crown prince of Montevio. They seem to be good friends but secretly Reinhardt also has eyes for Monetevio kingdom. The prince of Monetevio is engaged to woman name Wein Eburg. She was once ML's fiance but it ended and now she is crown princess. Wein Eburg unlike her fiance isn't fool and she doesn't believe that Prince Reinhardt is their ally at all. After a brief meeting Reinhardt leaves and gets in his car. The driver is unreasonably rude to him and is revealed to be his twin brother sigmund. Sigmund is known as complete dog for Reinhardt. He is loyal and would do anything for his brother. Sigmund is not recognized as his twin, instead he is just some viscount. Reinhardt sometimes find his brother's loyalty weird and hate how Sigmund would do anything to get some momento of their mother from Reinhardt. He even mocks how Sigmund wants things of the woman who literally threw her in trash after giving birth. But it is just Sigmund's way of getting love he never got. Reinhardt is highly ambitious and have killed many of his cousins and brothers for throne. Sigmund has helped him. Even if ML is not a threat, Reinhardt still wants him out and he wants Anita dead as well. He hates that his brother failed an assassination for the first time and is doubting his reason to spare Anita. He gives him another chance to take her out and trust him that he will succeed. Taking Anita out and then Lancelot, the prince is aiming for the Callasgo trust and its rights. They finally reach their destination. It is a hotel where they have a meeting with Veronica.

After ML and FL return, FL makes plan to visit the place mentioned on the key. Lancelot initially doesn't agree but eventually give her permission to go out alone but with some rules like coming back before dark, taking escorts, not going to dark alleys etc with last condition being not to meet Bimarck at all. Anita find this last condition weird and unnecessary. She cannot understand why he put it there. She then makes a visit to the place, it is the same park where she found green vaults. She meet a person there who tells her how the green vaults were built specifically by Anita's father to keep her safe and distract the enemies. This vault was recently destroyed. She finds her way to golden lockers, the key is golden so it is for golden lockers. Once she find the locker, she find a tin box inside. It is huge and opening it, she finds a picture book along with another tin box. Opening this box has another box and this final box contains the deed paper with names of three witnesses mentioned. It is George (Lawyer), Goth Nord and Violet. The last 2 haven't made an appearance yet. She leaves with the stuff and from her carriage sees the vault being burned down soon after. This was probably an instruction left by her father.

At this point, George has also started working for Anita and he is also noticing the money being missing in their ledger and he is still trying to fix the finances of the mansion. FL meets Matilda few days later. This is first time after wedding and Matilda thanks FL for saving her life and as a thank you she reveals to FL that it wasn't Veronica who ordered attack on FL in Villa. This puzzles FL even more as all the clues point to Veronica but if that's not the case then enemy is someone else who want her dead. Anyway after this, Matilfa kinda loses her shit and starts mocking Anita and her marriage to ML. She calls ML a monster and tells Anita that she knows ML didn't marry her for love. She knows him since he was a kid and ML is not capable of human emotions. She keeps insulting ML. FL doesn't like the way Matilda is being disrespectful to ML and warns her but when she continues she calls a servant and ask him to kick Matilda out and never visit them without permission.

After getting kicked out, Matilda curse FL on how she is acting like she is actual duchess of this place. She is also a bit jittery cuz recently Veronica met with Prince of Hespein and she know how dangerous that prince is. She meets ML on her way out and immediately panics. He is just quietly staring at her (like a psychopath if you ask me). Matilda tries to act calm and says that she didn't lie about anything. Matilda reveals through her memories that how Lancelot always had sensitive ears and eyes. Almost every other sense as well. He just somehow knew the secrets of every person he met and would often snitch. When he looks at a person it feels more like he is staring into their soul and it was deeply uncomfortable. Matilda cannot see him as a child and always believed him as monster. While looking at him in present she thinks if her brother realized that his son is an unlucky and relentless person. ML answers her out loud that his father knew and till death was concerned about his lost humanity and walks past her. Matilda is even more shocked at this and for a minute thinks she said it out loud. But that was not the case.

I made a few mistake and fixed them in last spoilers. Specifically the villa part. Also clarified the twin part in these spoilers. Some part of story are complicated. No wonder i forgot this so quickly

Anita wakes up two days later. When she wakes up she notice Lancelot by her bedside. From his looks it seems that he has been on the same spot for a while. The usually composed and perfectly dressed lancelot looked a little sluggish to her. Lancelot tells her that he tore and burned the dress as well that made her faint. He informs her that they are currently looking for the assassin and aunt Matilda is also doing fine. Seeing ML by her side she feels oddly contended over the fact that they are married now. She then ask ML to leave the room so she can wash up but ML informs her that it is his room and thinking that she stayed for 2 days in his room makes her blush. She apologize and try to leave but he stops her telling her that they are married now they will live here together, wash up, get sick, and sleep together. On this FL immediately reminds him of the divorce changing the mood of conversation. She couldn't make out ML's expression but she herself get hurt when he affirms it. He then told her that they would externally appear to live together but in reality his room is next door.

By this point FL has befriend countess milenia and she helped her with wedding preparations. She remember that countess told her that spouse keep separate room in nobility for privacy. From what I understand FL conclude that ML might need separate room in case he got a lover. She cannot tolerate this so she thinks they both need to respect each other's privacy more. She tells ML that she want to put more distance between the rooms. Hearing this ML looks completely pissed and he might be assuming that Anita will bring a lover in future. However he accepts her request. After this he informs her that they have to make a trip to Hicksen where imperial palace is located, pay respect to royals and pledge loyalty as duchess.

Then ML is ready to leave and covers Anita's bare shoulders (she realized late that she is only in a slip). Before leaving he informs her that he won't stop her from doing anything, she will have full freedom to use his estate and power. But as long as she is a duchess she should remember that she is his woman. After he leaves Anita calls herself pathetic for getting excited on hearing this possessive claim from ML.

So the next few days it become normal for Anita to spend the nights alone as per her request. Lancelot respected the privacy so much that he doesn't even go in her room at all. Anita feels sad that even as married person she is lonely. Is it really respect when a couple don't share the same bed. But she scolds herself whenever she gets such thoughts cuz Lancelot doesn't love her. It is hard marrying someone you don't live but it would be abuse sleeping in same bed with person you don't love (My girl is kinda masochist). On outside they are a perfect couple. But Anita realize that this external love is even more painful for her.

At breakfast, the next day she brings up the subject of sharing the room. She propose that they should at least appear to share the same room cuz maids and servants are watching and it might leave bad impression. He does remind her that it was her idea but agrees.

He also tells her that since they are going to the Hikensen he would hire a teacher for her. The teacher he hired was once the lady in waiting for Queen. Anita feels a pressure on her but ML reminds her that she is his duchess, his power is hers. She doesn't need to be scared or worried about anything. Anita also remembers that her father also used to say that if you show weakness then the people will advantage of it. So after this her training starts. It is pretty tough one since they have to leave for palace in one week and she usually end being exhausted after taking them.

One day she barely has any strength left and her shoulders feel stiff. Her teacher is strict with etiquettes. She has zero energy and just fall in her bed instantly falling asleep. She wake up late next day and hears ML's voice. He ask her that she can rest more. He is in her room reading something. Anita feels ashamed for sleeping for a long time. But ML again reminds her that not to push herself and she should take it easy. He also mentions that he enjoys seeing her sleeping face cuz it is like she is sleeping in his room (?) which again makes her blush. ML then talk about the letter he received from one of the noble named Luther. The letter mentions that ML should come to capital quickly as there are some rumors about callasgo trust among other nobles. So he plans to go to capital early.

ML and FL have to show their loyalty to royal family in the ceremony. This ceremony involves offering a golden sword to the royals. This sword should be in a maple wood box wrapped in a cloth with silver and gold embroidery. The management and crafting is upto Edenbahir family. Since Anita is new and there is no way grandma (her name is veronica btw, I'll refer her as veronica from this point on) would trust her. Veronica mocks Anita saying that she is barely learning etiquette. She can't possible maintain and craft the sword. She will do it instead. However, it will be Anita's responsibility to transfer this sword to Hicksen.

Anita talks about the sword with her teacher who tells her its history. It is always newly crafted and it shows completely loyalty to royal family. But like Anita even the teacher has doubt about Veronica's intentions.

After sometime Countess Milenia visit FL. She brought a painting with her and shows it to Anita. At first she doesn't understand it but soon started to see the meaning. The painting shows a golden skinned man holding a sword, this man has a limp. In legends a golden skin man represent Nuaze. But behind this man is another golden skin man, hiding from the other man's sight and pointing its sword to man. This represent the twin of Nuaze who was seen as as sin and a traitor.

Anita ask what the countess is trying to tell her. Then countess as Anita if she even knows why she decided to help ML? It was because the ML claimed that he will make sure that Anita will get the full support of the current queen and having ties with Anita will benefit the countess as well. The countess was doubtful at first but she herself verified the possibility and agreed to help.

Anita is hearing this the first time. But she soon make the connection. It is known that currently Grandma and Queen are at odds. The circle of nobility is also divided between them. In the current situation, Edenbahir has a really good chance to snatch the throne. The current king and his son are only child. Plus the crown prince also have a limp so it can shake his standing. Edenbahir family has same power as imperial family so it can go to their head of family, Veronica. Therefore, the queen is always anxious cause ML is the only one that can succeed the crown prince. The painting countess showed her is representing queen and ML or grandma as the spy. Anita completely makes the connection and conclude that ML plans on swearing loyalty to Queen and givr up his rights to the throne in ceremony. This will make Anita's standing stronger. Countess Milenia is impressed with her. Before the countess leaves, Anita requests that she keep the painting to which she agrees. During this convo Anita also ask about Luther and Milenia tells her that he is from Veronica''s circle. So that letter might not be a coincidence.

The following days Anita receives letter from Veronica stating that she and Lancelot would be leaving earlier. Anita should come next day with the sword. The one accompanying her is Norman. Both ML and FL are not happy about it and know that Veronica is plotting something. However ML has to comply and leave. He again tells FL to be careful and not overdo herself. After that FL asks Jill to give her the schedule for maids for today and next day. She also requests the blueprints of mansion.

Next day Norman arrives at the mansion very late. They only have few minutes before the train leaves so he know the duchess have to make haste. But when he enters the mansion he hears the staff talking that the sword went missing. Norman appears to be shocked and upset but at the same time he feels a bit superior. Cuz he is cousin to dead Duke and such matters could never be discussed in front of him. So seeing the staff telling this to him makes him feel he has influence. Norman use this opportunity to scold and ridicule Anita. He is already being disrespectful by calling the duchess directly by name but he just see Anita way below him. When he talks about missing sword to anita, she says that she knows and acts calm. He thinks that it is due to her upbringing that she is isn't understanding the situation and mocks her back ground and say Lancelot married a lowly woman.

He comes up with a plan saying that he had a hunch that this might happen cuz Anita is irresponsible so he prepared a fake in advance. He ask butler to bring in the box. This box has a sword but it is clearly visible that it is painted over and over with yellow. Presenting this would ridicule the royal family just like Veronica planned. But Anita says that sword is in the mansion and ask the staff to search. The staff come back saying they found nothing. The time is tight so Norman know that she has no choice but to leave with fake sword. But Anita remains calm and says it will take only five mins. She knows where the sword is and ask Norman to follow. Together with attendants they go to the 4th floor. On the way she mentions that the maids change curtains for duchy once a month. But for some reason the maids on this floor changed curtains yesterday. Norman says that it must be cuz month is over. But she reminds him that the last change was a week ago on their wedding and maids only changed west wing of 4th floor. The rooms far away from swords location. Also they have used autumn curtain that are thick. Norman is sweating at this point but doesn't say anything.

Norman asked a maid to hide the sword and made the whole preparation of arriving late in the duchy. This way they won't have time to search and they could leave with fake sword. But the plan failed cuz searching the rooms, the servant finds the missing sword on the wall behind the curtain. The FL had earlier warned that those responsible for missing sword would be punished, at that time Norman was haughty that it means FL would end up punishing herself. But now the sword is found so the blame can go to norman.

He quickly tries to cover up saying that the person responsible should come out now. But FL interrupts him saying that she will fire the whole staff that was responsible for 1st, 3rd and 4th floor. She also mentioned how this staff was introduced through Norman's connections. Norman thinks she is trying to threaten him so again humiliate her with her poor background but FL says that she is not blaming him instead his connection. She tells him that she would hire a new staff herself. This makes Norman panic cuz he already have weak position so maintaining this connection is important plus if she fired the staff he won't have his eyes and ears in mansion anymore. He says that he will find new person for hiring but FL rejects saying if ML heard about it then things would get worse. He thinks she is trying to threaten him will ML. But she clarify that if he suddenly kick out 20 people on same day then ML would get involved and the matter may leak to media who is already looking for dirt on nobles. Veronica would be pissed if she saw such article. So she should solve this matter internally with her staff. Norman knows he cannot do anything cuz he doesn't want to face Veronica''s wrath about it so he just simply complies.

After this they go to Hicksen. When FL get off the train, she has trouble getting through the crowd but ML has arrived to pick her up and he holds her in her arm while the crowd pass by them. FL feels comfortable surrounded by ML's warmth and scent. She ask ML why he came by himself he could send someone else. He just says that his wife arrived in an unknown place first time. He couldn't leave her alone. On the way to palace, FL tells ML everything that went down in their home. The ML is concerned for FL but she tells him that she handled the situation without raising any suspicion and she was able to fool Norman. While ML is listening to FL, he suddenly admires her lips and say that she has nice mouth (The guy really doesn't know how to express himself). This makes FL flush and excited but she just keeps reminding herself that Lancelot doesn't love her again and again.

After reaching the palace, they meet the queen. The queen and lancelot are on friendly terms and trust each other. The Queen then admire's FL's beauty and ask ML where he found such a beautiful girl. He replies that she has always been by his side Then they talk about the whole situation with Veronica. FL and ML tells her everything that happened in mansion so far and queen is completely on their side to take down Veronica. The queen then gives the honor of taking the 3rd dance in her birthday banquet. This is a big deal cause on banquets the first dance is by king and queen, followed by CP and his fiance, and the 3rd couple to do it should have really high rank and respectable member of society that have image to maintain. So in other words this should go to Veronica. The FL doesn't want to become center of attention as it will create vile gossips about her so she denies it instead she ask for fourth dance. FL also has some plan so she cannot take the 3rd dance.

The birthday is few days away so till then ML and FL have to stay in palace. However they are given a single room with one bed and this create another panic in FL. However, ML makes an excuse that he has to stay out almost every night giving her different reasons and only showing up the next day. This puts FL's mind at much ease and finally the day of birthday comes. On the birthday, first a ceremony is held where ML and FL pledge loyalty to king and queen and give them golden sword. During this ML also announce that he is renouncing his rights to throne. Veronica is not happy about this and everyone in the hall figures it. After that birthdag banquet begins and Veronica decides to create a scene for FL and put her in her place. When it is her turn to dance, she choose Lancelot as her partner. This is a great disrespect to Anita as he is newly married and his first dance should be his wife. This is just to show that Anita has no value in their household. FL keeps it together. However, ML doesn't show up in banquet hall at all and completely ditch the event. Much to Veronica's humiliation. Then it is revealed that a day prior, FL and ML had a conversation where they discuss the same thing that Veronica will ask for dance. ML said he would deny it but FL urged him not to cause this way people would turn against her for disrespecting his elder and choosing love over family. ML was strictly against the idea still and FL finds it funny that he just didn't show up at all.

After each dance, the person is also supposed to give gift to queen. The gift Veronica gives to queen is exactly the same painting as the one FL prepared. The countess is with FL when this happens and believes that the Veronica have created forgery of one of her artist's work. She is even ready to make a scene but FL stops her saying that it is not forgery and she'll handle it. The painting itself given by Veronica is a challenge to Queen. The queen mamages to keep her expression straight and smile as she received the gift. Then it is Anita's turn and seeing her gift cause a drama in the hall. Everyone is talking how the paintings are same. FL is accused of forgery but she denies it and this time she says that she won't tolerate the humiliation by Veronica. She cannot bear the insult against her husband and their household. So she sues Veronica of forgery just like Veronica sued her. The things are getting out of hand so Queen suggest to bring in the painter and he will tell which is real and forgery.

After this drama, it is revealed that FL did all this to summon a specific lawyer. This lawyer is named George Farge and her father mentioned in his note to find him. But this lawyer everytime she asked for him refused to meet her so orchastrated this event. This way she can have a royal permit to summon him to the palace. The painting was not forgery, few days ago, FL was going through family ledger and noticed that there are some holes and money is leaking every where. Unfortunately, ML is busy with other affairs so he couldn't see things happening in household. Most of this money is withdrawn by Veronica and she has bough some paintings from an aspiring artist that countess milenia is sponsoring. FL also heard some rumors that Veronica might be planning on starting her own sponsorship soon. Anyway, FL pays visit to this painter who at first doesn't pay attention to her and she has to show him the scandalous news articles about her and ML to get his attention. This guy is currently painting another painting for Veronica, FL manages to gain sympathy from this artist and request that he makes a similar painting for her but with minor changes. The painter agrees on the condition that FL would let him write a play about her life. He is a playwriter as well, FL agrees on condition he doesn't show her husband in bad light. Then we return to present day.

While FL is waiting for lawyer to arrive, the scene shifts to Sasha (Claudia's sister), Rose and another new character named Bimarck. Bimarck has just returned to kingdom from his training and he is engaged to Sasha. This guy knows about FL and is concerned about her when she is mentioned in a scandal. Rose as always is bad mouthing FL and reveals how this whole marriage with ML is fake, he cannot possibly love her and is only using her for investment rights. Hearing this makes Bimarck hate ML and he just want to save FL from this man who believes is evil.

George, the lawyer shows up finally and is surprised to see the Duchess he had been ignoring for long time. FL reveals that Veronica has already taken back the case and let the matter slide. Still this was the only way to summon the lawyer. Veronica let go of this matter cuz if she persued and won, she would be remembered as someone who won a petty house fight but letting it go show her as someone of big and forgiving heart. FL tells the lawyer that she is the daughter of Vincent Boloni, an old friend of George. This surprised him and he apologizes for his early behavior, he says he was receiving request from a noble named Duchess Edenbahir, if she had sent a letter with her family name, he would have immediately came over. So Anita figures that George doesn't hate her, he just hate nobility for some reason. Anyway, George has to leave soon as his wife is sick so he ask for a later date. FL feel guilty for forcing a man taking care of his wife like this so she let him leave.

Later that day, FL fall asleep on the sofa and feels a cold touch of her face. She wakes up to see ML sitting next to her reading and supporting her chin with his hand. FL then quickly straighten up. She thinks how ML has been sleeping outside for days, the nobles might begin a rumor so she hope that he can sleep in his bed tonight. But she knows that ML would never let her sleep on sofa, they will have to share the bed and this is highly uncomfortable for her as she think that they will forcibly sleep together. She try to convince to ML to read later and fall asleep. This way she can sleep on sofa. She gets so emotional during this that she starts crying, ML takes it the wrong way and thinks she hate the idea of sleeping with him in same bed. He angrily gets up and walks to window saying that he won't sleep with her tonight or any other night so she can sleep peacefully now. FL then tells him that she didn't mean it that way, she is just too nervous around him. He doesn't answer, instead soon after he changes the topic. He mentions meeting Bimarck earlier. Hearing his name FL becames extremely happy, on the other hand ML's expression gets a bit grave. She makes it very clear that she cares about this guy, he had been her father's student and they are very close. She says that she missed him very much and can't wait to see him again. ML then in a bit rough voice say that Anita is so indifferent to him, she is happily mentioning another man's name in front of him and doesn't care. She cannot belive her ears and walks to him. She holds arm and tells him that he is taking this the wrong way. They are like brother and sister. After clearing this misunderstanding, ML just stare at her and mention that it is so frustrating that he cannot look inside Anita's head at all (the author subtely hinting that ML might have mind reading powers). They talk some more before finally ML manages to convince FL to sleep in the bed. He said that she can continue talking about Bimarck if she comes to bed. While on bed, these two instead of Bimarck talk about the Lawyer. FL plans to go alone but ML isn't agreeing. He says he will go too and will be disguised as her cousin.

Once in Lawyer's house, Anita notices several nice sketches on the shelf and George mentions that they were painted by his daughter who is dead now. Then he tells his life story. His daughter had gotten admission in one of the best art institutes. George worked very hard that year so he can pay the tuition. On the day, the daughter was supposed to go to academy, she was killed in an accident. The carriage that killed her belonged to a noble and turned out after his daughter's death, this noble's son was given the admission in that academy. George tried to sue them but he lacked evidence and judge was not ready to take his case either. He was soon started getting attacks on his work and house, some would even send him death threats. He again tried to sued and this time he had 5 witnessess. However, only 1 one of them was ready to show up and this was his neighbor. But on the day of the hearing this witness committed suicide which is highly unbelievable cuz only few days ago this guy was excited about upcoming wedding of his nephew. George then moved away from nobles and started a recluse life with his wife in countryside. He barely goes out. During his hard times, FL's father showed up and helped him with his whole situation with his daughter and that noble. He also helps him find good doctor for his wife and her sickness. The FL's father didn't reveal his reason just said that he will help him in the future so that is why he is helping FL.

FL is devasted by this story, however she still wants to make an offer to George. She wishes for him and his wife to move back to city and wants George to work for her and handle the ledgers. George again gets emotional and say that it is hard for him. In short, just trying to reject the offer. FL is ready to give up but at this point ML speaks up and call George hypocrite for his behavior. He cannot even repay his savior's and is just playing victim. FL tries to stop him but he says that he isn't doing anything wrond and he made the right decision to follow her. Cuz he knew FL would come back empty handed. George by now figures that it is duke himself not FL's cousin. While they are arguing, Georges wife comes in and she is the one who manages to convince George. She tells him how she doesn't like him being locked up like this and wasting his talent. She begs FL to take him cuz he knows many things and has a very deep knowledge about different stuff. George does agree but says he would need to study a little more before he joins FL. George's wife hands FL a key left by her father before FL leave. This key has the location engraved on it and her next stop is this location once she goes back to duchy.

FL is in a tea party with noble ladies few days later. I'll be honest I skipped this tea part mostly, the notable part is that Sasha mentions her engagement which surprise FL cuz she has been on regular contact with bimarck but he never mentioned it. At the end of it, it is late and ML comes to pick her up. She follows him as he holds a lantern thinking they are going to room but soon realizes that ML is going somewhere else and it is getting darker and darker. She is a little afraid of dark path so she starts talking to ML. While they converse, they reach the destination. It is the banquet hall with no light except for lantern.The scenary outside is beautiful with lake and moonlight. The ML then puts the lantern on window and ask FL for dance. He says that he wants to dance with her since she missed her chance last time and it was her debut to society. FL feels overwhelmed with happiness and she takes his hand. They both dance in silence for sometime. Each of them just staring at each othe and FL admiring ML's facial features and how much she likes being in his presence. With time she enjoys his company more and more. She then admits that she is glad she is married to him, without him she wouldn't be able to find anything about her father and would never be able to make a debut in such place. ML remains quiet. She also wonders that how she is glad that it is just him and ML dancing alone cuz if they were in front of people this dance wouldn't be so beautiful. She then thanks him and walks away toward the window. ML doesn't follow instead he stands there and ask why she is over there. She walks back to him and tries to make some joke but ML gently touch her face and say that he just want to look at her face right now. Her face looks like in love? FL tries to stay calm and says that she is his wife so yes he is allowed to admire her face and she also likes his face. Anyway after that the dance concludes and they walk back to room. However Anita notices something about ML's expression and realize that even knowing him for 10 years, he is hiding something from her.

The next day Ml and Fl leave the palace. Once they step out FL is completely frozen cuz she came across the guy who infiltrated their household on wedding day. But he is not injured and ML walks next to her and greet this man calling jim "His majesty". This guy is the crown prince of Hespain, named Reinhardt and a cousin of ML. This revelation shocks FL and she realize ML also has rights to Hespain throne. After a brief introduction and uncomfortable exchange with prince, ML and FL leave. On the way home, ML reveals a bit about her mother and how she died giving birth to his twin. ML's mom and veronica were always at odds cuz of Veronica's strong beliefs to legends. During the birth, Veronica was present with ML's mom. When she give birth to first child, Veronica refused the other one to be born and ML's mother didn't even get facilities to make the birth easier. She was arguing with Veronica while giving birth and it got so difficult that soon after she died along with the baby. Their death devasted ML's father too. He was in love with his wife and his relationship with his mom got worse. The twins are completely considered a sin but somehow the prince of Hespain and his twin is alive.

After ML and FL left, Reinhardt met the crown prince of Montevio. They seem to be good friends but secretly Reinhardt also has eyes for Monetevio kingdom. The prince of Monetevio is engaged to woman name Wein Eburg. She was once ML's fiance but it ended and now she is crown princess. Wein Eburg unlike her fiance isn't fool and she doesn't believe that Prince Reinhardt is their ally at all. After a brief meeting Reinhardt leaves and gets in his car. The driver is unreasonably rude to him and is revealed to be his twin brother sigmund. Sigmund is known as complete dog for Reinhardt. He is loyal and would do anything for his brother. Sigmund is not recognized as his twin, instead he is just some viscount. Reinhardt sometimes find his brother's loyalty weird and hate how Sigmund would do anything to get some momento of their mother from Reinhardt. He even mocks how Sigmund wants things of the woman who literally threw her in trash after giving birth. But it is just Sigmund's way of getting love he never got. Reinhardt is highly ambitious and have killed many of his cousins and brothers for throne. Sigmund has helped him. Even if ML is not a threat, Reinhardt still wants him out and he wants Anita dead as well. He hates that his brother failed an assassination for the first time and is doubting his reason to spare Anita. He gives him another chance to take her out and trust him that he will succeed. Taking Anita out and then Lancelot, the prince is aiming for the Callasgo trust and its rights. They finally reach their destination. It is a hotel where they have a meeting with Veronica.

After ML and FL return, FL makes plan to visit the place mentioned on the key. Lancelot initially doesn't agree but eventually give her permission to go out alone but with some rules like coming back before dark, taking escorts, not going to dark alleys etc with last condition being not to meet Bimarck at all. Anita find this last condition weird and unnecessary. She cannot understand why he put it there. She then makes a visit to the place, it is the same park where she found green vaults. She meet a person there who tells her how the green vaults were built specifically by Anita's father to keep her safe and distract the enemies. This vault was recently destroyed. She finds her way to golden lockers, the key is golden so it is for golden lockers. Once she find the locker, she find a tin box inside. It is huge and opening it, she finds a picture book along with another tin box. Opening this box has another box and this final box contains the deed paper with names of three witnesses mentioned. It is George (Lawyer), Goth Nord and Violet. The last 2 haven't made an appearance yet. She leaves with the stuff and from her carriage sees the vault being burned down soon after. This was probably an instruction left by her father.

At this point, George has also started working for Anita and he is also noticing the money being missing in their ledger and he is still trying to fix the finances of the mansion. FL meets Matilda few days later. This is first time after wedding and Matilda thanks FL for saving her life and as a thank you she reveals to FL that it wasn't Veronica who ordered attack on FL in Villa. This puzzles FL even more as all the clues point to Veronica but if that's not the case then enemy is someone else who want her dead. Anyway after this, Matilfa kinda loses her shit and starts mocking Anita and her marriage to ML. She calls ML a monster and tells Anita that she knows ML didn't marry her for love. She knows him since he was a kid and ML is not capable of human emotions. She keeps insulting ML. FL doesn't like the way Matilda is being disrespectful to ML and warns her but when she continues she calls a servant and ask him to kick Matilda out and never visit them without permission.

After getting kicked out, Matilda curse FL on how she is acting like she is actual duchess of this place. She is also a bit jittery cuz recently Veronica met with Prince of Hespein and she know how dangerous that prince is. She meets ML on her way out and immediately panics. He is just quietly staring at her (like a psychopath if you ask me). Matilda tries to act calm and says that she didn't lie about anything. Matilda reveals through her memories that how Lancelot always had sensitive ears and eyes. Almost every other sense as well. He just somehow knew the secrets of every person he met and would often snitch. When he looks at a person it feels more like he is staring into their soul and it was deeply uncomfortable. Matilda cannot see him as a child and always believed him as monster. While looking at him in present she thinks if her brother realized that his son is an unlucky and relentless person. ML answers her out loud that his father knew and till death was concerned about his lost humanity and walks past her. Matilda is even more shocked at this and for a minute thinks she said it out loud. But that was not the case.

I made a few mistake and fixed them in last spoilers. Specifically the villa part. Also clarified the twin part in these spoilers. Some part of story are complicated. No wonder i forgot this so quickly

He is prince from other kingdom called called Hespein. It is a neigboring empire to Montevio (The place where fl and ml reside). Montevio, Edenbahir and Hespain are all descendant from same clan, Nuavje and have same beliefs for twins. Edenbahir is more powerful than two other families but they choose to serve rather than rule.

-MC's dad is killed by her uncle Vlad because godmother threatened to him.
-ML never said I love you to MC even til the very end of the novel. Lol his best was "I'll protect you". He does love her based on his actions but is adamant that he doesn't because someone brainwashed him into thinking that whoever he loves will die.
-reinhardt was killed my Sigmund his twin and Sigmund is killed by people who hate him. Sigmund is a psychotic killer who could read minds except for those of twin and other dragons descendants fated ones.
-MC is ML's fate. With her being around him he is more stable and can control his power better. He wants her, loves her, takes care of her, protect her, take care of her relatives, and is thirsty for her However, he will never say thar he loves her.

The story ends with MC telling ML she loves him again after she left him to save Klaunia (ML's cousin and MC's bestfriend). They held hand and went back to the dukes place together.

It is pretty much like that. The first half of the story was better. The couple itself was still kinda bland and boring yet story was somewhat interesting. Author started so mamy plot points that 2nd half was kind of a mess. The ML's blood was always special but we were like 60 chapters in when author started revealing he might have mind reading powers.

Idk, sometimes it even felt like that author wants to prove the point that Ml cannot understand love even tho he is doing everything a person in love would do. Many Koreans also hated that why couldn't ML say the love word and why author was so fixed on making him not say it.

Honestly author shot herself in the foot tryna make ML uselessly stoic and cold. Romance seems just so bland in the novel, at least the politics keeps it alive somewhat.
