I forgot about the name of this show I used to watch around 10-11 years back, I originally saw it on a Hong Kong broadcast channel, it was somewhat of an animation style TV show regarding a wuxia-type protagonist. At most I could remember was that one point during the series, the protagonist had one of his arm chopped off, found a secret cave with 3 unique sword, and he use a heavy stone(?) sword to exact vengeance or something while searching for his master who he's in love with. Anyone know what I'm talking about here, it's mainly just nostalgia but would be good to know if someone know about what it's called.
Yeah, that's Jin Yong's "Return of The Condor Heroes". MC's name is Yang Guo. Try reading it if you have the time. Those half-assed wuxia MCs you see on Chinese WNs these days would do well to learn from Yang Guo.
at least 9 times drama adaptation (latest being 2017) 3 times movie adaptation 1 anime adaptation unknown number of manhua adaptation very impressive list, this novel had. i only watch 3 or 4 version of it, one being a hongkong comic.
IT HAS AN ANIMATED SERIES!?!?!?!? All the while I have been reading the novel and its live action dramas (FYI, iirc latest one is shit, Dragon Girl is twice as naive in the drama as compared to the original and they cut off Yang Guo's wrong arm, Xuan Tie Heavy Sword looks like a cheap knockoff of Cloud's Sword from FF)
deer and cauldron, right? ? that one had several too, iinm, i think i watch two version of it, one starred by dicky cheung, couldn't remember the other. stephen chow had movie of it too, iirc. but i did read the hongkong comics version of it, yes. edit: i checked the wikipedia. it seems the other one i watch was the recent 2014 version. but wiki is not really reliable. it didn't even list the 2017's return condor hero, eventhough it did has a page for it.
Yeah the best one is the heroine is Crystal Liu.. My first broken heart when 'that' happen. D*mn for this for making me remember my old scar.
Liu Yifei is just so damn pretty. Plus, for reasons I can't explain, she just fits the role of Xiao Longnu so well in the 2006 adaptation: Naive and pure, but still mature enough, as to not appear too childish. She is IMHO the best Xiao Longnu to date. The moment I saw her performance, I was an instant fan. Of course, she's also taken.
Shit. It's too easy. I mentioned it recently to someone here You can easily find it on YouTube with English subs. I use to sub that series...good times
Return of the condor heroes, thanks, theres just so much in the condor heroes list, and only ever heard of the name in chinese. Edit: I better look through each of the condors just to make sure.
Jinology is studied in American schools or at least a western school. It would have been easier than you think
