OOC: Watched all the anime ones sadly, but most of the tv ones I've neglected like Magicians and Psych, aye.

 

OOC: @VannVann psst, this is valuable knowledge.

 

OoC: See the crappy thing about amazon is that their anime is a seperate deal entirely from prime. If you like Archer you may like Ugly Americans but you have to buy that individually.

 

OoC: I actually have a note book with the names of most of the animes I've seen in it if you want me to give you a list lol

 

OoC: I usually just use Hulu since they don't get rid of shows

 

OOC: Nah, I've probably watched most of them to be honest, 4 years with most days being 8+ hours of free-time gives you a lot of time to watch anime.

 

OoC: I haven't watch much since I got to high school, but I started watching anime when I was 9 and had so much free time its sad lol. I have like 160 on that list lol

 

OoC: I've watched my fair share of Anime goodness but I'm no good at suggestions. I have weird tastes, and no one seems to like my favorites. I think this is partially because I don't care about the quality of the animation when compared to if I like the story.

Hikaru No Go is an example of one of my favorites. Sure sometimes my tastes intersect with the popular. I really like the currently airing Ancient Magus Bride for instance. But my value scale as to what makes a good anime for me seems to be different than most others.

 

OOC: Interesting, I really dislike Ancient Magus Bride tbh...

 

OoC: I like it specifically because I can tell the author did his research into real life folklore and occult and wove it into his fiction. A lot of Anime, if I can tie it to something that exists in history or myth, I have a more positive view on the anime.

 

OOC: Ahh, is the folklore in Ancient Magus Bride good? I didn't watch past the 1st episode honestly, and only saw the bit's about Fae which seemed realistic enough, considering Fae in a lot of folklore around England were evil/mischevious.

 

OoC: It is woven into the fiction like I said, so some of it is off. Most of the creatures used however are derived from real mythology, a lot of the natural materials and their uses in the occult and spells are accurate as well. There is a few scenes of spells cast, or when Chise's wand is made, the materials described, and what they are used for can be found in actual pagan beliefs and druidic traditions of magic.

I just find theology, folklore, myth, anything encompassing the realm of human belief in their attempt to understand the world fascinating.

OoC: I have to agree Ancient Magus Bride is pretty good. I haven't seen the anime but I read the manga

OoC: I've read the manga up to volume 6 so far... Ughh! Trying to remember if I forget to pack something. I have this nagging feeling... Anyway, morning guys.

 

OoC: I hate that feeling lol. Its even worse when you're going back home.
