I started watching anime six years ago. The trend at that time was like High School DxD and Trinity Seven, Kono Suba which were good and funny ero anime. But now after six years of watching the trend of anime seems to be going to a very dangerous path. A few weeks ago I saw Maquia: When the Promised Flower Bloom (MAL Rating 8.5) which doesn't have a single good Male Lead and it ends with Female Lead having a child due to rape. To get over the depression of this movie I didn't watch an anime for over a month. Next anime after this break was YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world (MAL rating 6.7) which seemed to be a good harem from preview. But after watching it my heart broke again. In this anime MC's stepmother is raped (and it doesn't happen only a single time. MC goes back in time and she is raped every time). MC's daughter which goes in past has to rely for prostitution to earn money. After watching these two anime I don't know whether I will be able to continue watching anime ever again. My heart is too much broken from these shocks. But still for the NTR Sect this seems to be a good year. So maybe anime industry is shifting from good comedy ero to dark NTR ero. PS: If someone knows why Maquia is good then please do tell. I can't seem to understand what was the the meaning of such dark ending.
... wow, NTR is sinking into the main stream, or is the big power behind all these is telling the common folks that it is cool to get cucked?
Yeah NTR is on the rise lately. It was rapey and lolicon a couple years back. Things tend to go from the hentai crowd and filter down to the public anime.
Oh sorry.. But still the friend has a very good boyfriend but she has to go through rape and everyone else leaves her after it. It was a very traumatic experience for me to watch such a good character get broken.
No, it was always a staple choice, but on the off brand side of anime. I just hope they don't mistake an anime based on a retro visual novel to be the standard of today's anime, which is not by all means. If you check the upcoming anime for next season or the following year, not much or any netorare at all.
SPOILER ALERT: Maquia's friend is the one who got raped. The movie doesn't have a dark ending. Everything may have went downhill near the end but, everything went back to normal except the country that was destroyed. Maquia and the boy she raised reconciled. She and her friend managed to get back to their homeland and they can freely roam the world thanks to the human countries' agreement about the treatment for Maquia's kind. She even got to see the boy she raised grow senile. It's not a happy ending but, it's a good ending.
YU-NO = Roller Coaster of Emotions. Ultra Simplified version < MC Parents Dead < MC step-mother gets taken advantage/rape then commits suicide. < MC Travels back in time to save his step mother failed multiples times but in the end he succeeded in saving her but a cost of having PTSD. < MC found out his school mate is doing prostitution (MC daughter (from the future) < MC found out his school mate got some strange disease which can only be found in another world. < MC goes to another world. (We Isekai Now!) < MC got saved by a female knight she trained her then later on she died after fighting a monster. < MC found a woman (his waifu and a priestess) they smashed = a daughter is born. < MC's daughter grew fast really fast it's the norm in the world his in. < MC returns home after patrolling his place. < MC finds his wife being pinned down by Knights their checking if the woman (priestess) is still a virgin. < Quick fight happened and MC's wife refuses to obey the knights so she committed suicide. I'm ending it here.... I don't wnna remember it anymore.
Imagine eating only french toast for 6 years. Your bound to get bored. That's why anime keeps changing. and there's nothing wrong in portraying a tragedy. It's anime!! Not your rehab centre or spiritual temple to seek optimisim of life
Anime is falling in quality (plot wise) and rising in quality (graphics wise), from a source of entertainment to a source of money bringing, then again good plot is hard to find lately, that or some sort of scheme is going on behind the scenes especially considering the attacks on anime studios that happened As for your question, those animes you mentioned are rated like that probably because they got plot, not good ones but compared to most other animes (generic and with no real plot in them) released in the same season they got stories to tell (well, they got their fans)
Im one of the people here who never heard those anime you listed. Tbh Anime is leaning more to adaptations of light novels and isekai-ish ones. Just look at how many isekai within this year. Not to mention those are light novel adaptations. Soon the reincarnated into villainess with come into trend with the common ones like MHA or that Souma anime.
Must be you that unlucky when you chose, you can watch that more lighthearted that will warm you.(idk that anime)
Are you talking about an anime where the mc uses ancient stone to travel back in time/travel between world? If yes, are you watching the 2018/2019 version? If yes, it's a reboot of an old anime. The old one is more darker and i think it leans toward h-anime rather than normal anime.
actually no I will use the last 3 anime season as a reference fall(current) - https://anichart.net/Fall-2019 Summer - https://anichart.net/summer-2019 Spring - https://anichart.net/spring-2019 Fall has 44 anime with 6 isekai Summer had 33 anime with 6 isekai Spring had 47 anime with 4 isekai
I have same thought with you about YuNo. It have left a bad taste. I keep having thought about the victim rape & prostitution. Since this anime ended , even I watch light , comedy anime , I keep thinking about YuNo . For me YuNo is one of the most dark anime .
