I'm looking for stories with Game Systems, be they "real world game systems" or "VRMMO Game Systems", which use Stats but doesn't have the Intelligence or Wisdom Stats, period. Yes, the story can have magic or equivalent, but Intelligence and Wisdom are highly specific mental traits that shouldn't be directly related to numerical power. The few times that Intelligence and Wisdom are used with their namesake meanings in their stories, it's usually an excuse for someone to start stupid and become more intelligent, or for someone to suddenly become "a super genius".

Due to this personal pet peeve, I would like to know of stories without Wisdom and Intelligence stats, despite a Stat System. I am perfectly fine with what the stats do being replaced with "comparable" stats, so long as it's an improvement. Intelligence, which is usually used for Magic Attack Power, could be replaced with a Density or Compression Stat or something else like that, for example.

    Any ideas?

Royal Roader on My Own has intuition but not intelligence or wisdom not very far along yet but so far so good

Everyone Else is a Returnee it not really a game but feels like a gaming story and it doesn't have intelligence or wisdom but he does get smarter due to actually studying to get smarter (amazing right) also this one is completely translated.

My idea is that you probably have only read novels with BAD game mechanics/systems. If you haven't, give The Amber Sword, Night Ranger, or Abyss Domination (my personal favorite, but unfortunately it doesn't have an active translation so you would have to read MTL) a try.

I'm not 100% sure about Amber Sword, but at least NR and AD are made by authors who are familiar with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Heck AD's author even directly copied items from Baldur's Gate (a game based on 2nd edition) and you can tell that he's played Neverwinter Nights.

On the off-chance that you do have, and still didn't like it, then never mind.

Reincarnator and Everyone Else is a Returnee for "real world game system"s.

And if it's a "VRMMO game system," then "intelligence" and "wisdom" stats by default do not actually have anything to do with the player's mental faculties, so I don't see the point avoiding the stats in those novels... so I'm going to totally ignore your pet peeve and just recommend some of my favorites, which may or may not have said stats (I don't even remember):

    Legendary Moonlight Sculptor
    1/2 Prince
    Emperor of Solo Play
    Only Sense Online

You may also like Tate no Yuusha, which is a "real world game system" that studiously avoids mentioning stats at all.

Sword Art Online fulfills your request to a T while they are in Aincrad. After the death game though, this might not apply...

Everyone Else is a Returnee is probably directly in your wheelhouse. Real life, game elements, level systems, weapon crafting. Completely translated too which makes a big bonus.

P.S. I've personally read it twice due to enjoying it so much.

If there's a substitute for Int or Wis, it's usually something like Magic , but if they change it that much, they tend to change other things as well.

I liked how he was initially kid-intelligence level stupidity and only got normal and then smarter when his int stat increased. Visible growth there...

I think the system was, that raising your INT, was like raising your potential. It isn't instant, but it is a slow and gradual change from months to years depending on how fast you have raised it. I think the only notable exception is CHARM, but you have to train to control it, and in the MC's experience, suppress it.

Yes/No. There's definitely a period of adaption in the novel, but raising his INT still definitely raises his mental ability. The MC's problem there is that he just doesn't use his new mental capacity, so he never really adapts to it. .... In other words: He's an idiot by choice.
