If your budget is around 2.5k There are a couple of great gaming laptops. i wouldn't recommend Alienware coz you could pretty much buy a great laptop without paying the obscene price. Here are a couple of gaming laptops which i think are great:
    Asus ROG G750JZ-XS72
MSI GT60 (MSI GT 70 and 72 are even better)
    HP OMEN
    Razer Blade pro 17

It depends on your purpose. If you need something easy to transport than choose a laptop. Otherwise pc all the way.
I would suggest Asus or Msi laptops though.

If you are getting a laptop becouse of space/size reasons DONT try looking into micro ATX form factor cases and motherboards. fractal design just realised a new mATX case recently that i heard some good reviews of called the Node 202

I'll go ahead and recommend the gaming mouse I use since they've pretty much covered the choices for expensive laptops.

Alienware is very, very overpriced. There are many other computers that give the same functionality for half the price.
If you are looking for a truly portable, lightweight laptop I suggest this.

The reason for getting them is for people on the move/..

Honestly speaking, if you want to game you should really invest in a desktop. As nice as having a laptop can be, between part replacement, and cooling they just are subpar for gaming. They tend to be overpriced, and you do not have that much of a variance in selection. Desktops however you can find parts that are cheaper, just by changing from a name brand, also alot of gaming laptops run extremely hot. Nothing like your system overheating or shutting down in the middle of your game. Laptops rarely have parts sold individually from sellers, which means you have to purchase it as a full machine. Although for someone who has never built a computer this can make it easier, it ends up adding a good couple hundred on for labor and completion. If you truly want to game. I would suggest checking out some desktops, look into the parts yourself instead of trying to take other peoples word for it. AMD is the most cost effective route, and all told for the price of a mediocre gaming laptop, you can build a mid tier, high end gaming desktop.
