I'm looking for novels in which the gender roles of society are reversed, where women and men change roles, where men become the "chased one". Some stories do it by skewing the rates of men and women in the world, for instance 1/20 people are girls. Other's do it just by women becoming the sexual instigators, with men being more meek and more deliberate and conservative in picking sexual partners. I like this trope because it's kind of funny at times, it's a man's dream and for the smut, though I dislike stories that are "just" smut, though I'll check them out. It's one of my favorite tropes so I'll start by recommending lots of stories to you. (This is also a place for me to keep track of which one's I've read both on this site and other spaces) Masho no Otoko wo Mezashimasu -JP- -313 chapters- A world in which there are very few men, so they are given preferential treatment. The male to female rate is about 1/20. The women in this world are also way prettier, which is explained by natural selection or something. This is probably the most famous story of this trope. The protagonist is very nice and gives affection to lots of girls and women starved with affection. It's very slice of life-ish and slow moving but quite wholesome. The world building is quite fun, though after a while of reading it, it stagnates and there is almost no relationship development. You never get to see him date someone or see any real romance at all. Still, I recommend checking it out. 3/5 In a World Where Beauty is Reversed, a Harem Only for Me -JP- -Adult- -28 chapters- MC is transfered to another world, where beauty is completely reversed, and hot women are looked upon as disgusting. He is saved by a woman considered very ugly, and proceeds to make a harem of beauties. The translator is very talented, and the story is very hot and focused on Adult situations. Story focuses on characters with not a lot of world building but it was quite entertaining. 4/5 Sonohi Sekai ga Kawatta -JP- -Adult- -48 chapters- A story in which the worls aesthetic sense of beauty changes overnight, and the overweight, incredibly ugly MC suddenly becomes a super hot / idol like celebrity at his school. It starts out fine, though the entire story is perpetrated by an "incel" mindset. The MC is perverted in a highly unpleasant way and uses his new social identity to deprave and "use" one of the most beautiful girls at his school as his sex slave. What proceeds is just smut upon smut, with focus on degrading and training this girl more and more. Probably good if you're into this kind of stuff. 2/5 Danjohi ga Bukkowareta Sekai no Hito to Jinsei wo Koukanshimashita -JP- -52 chapters- A goddess approaches MC and asks him if he wants to change to a world where he is popular, from this one where he is disliked. He says yes, and is transfered to a world in which the gender ratio is incredibly skewed, and where men are treated like kings. He proceed's to give attention and affection to girls, being a saint compared to other men of this new world. This is a story of a man in a harem-like environment, trying his best to make the girls in his surroundings happy. Focused on world building and humor, with some serious moments. Surprisingly entertaining, but get's a bit boring. 3/5 Aiming To Be the World’s Best Distributor in the World of Chastity Reversal -JP- -42 chapters- Aoi is reincarnated in another world where the ratio of men to women is too unbalanced. Short chapters, MC is friendly to the girls where men are supposed to be rude and xenophobic. Pretty good read for stress relief. Very unrealistic, just full of fluff and family fluff, and he becomes a streamer and world-level celebrity like in 15 chapters. Funny with no real substance. 3/5 Reversed Parallel World‘s Messiah -JP- -Adult- -100 chapters- A college student get's transfered to a world where aesthetics of women’s’ beauty, chastity, and libido are completely reversed. Beautiful girls are treated with disgust for being ugly, prim and proper girl's are treated as being lewd, virgins are sluts. MC get's sent to a city where all these ostracized girls had made their own city. He proceeds to tell them they are pretty etc, and proceeds to just do lot's of r18 stuff with them. Some character building, though I dropped it quite early. For being what it is, it's not terrible. 3/5 Now to web-novels and western novels. They are not that full of tropes and immature writing, though some of them are super heavy on the smut. Though some of them are quite well written but get boring quick, or just turn straight out weird. The Man of the House -EN- -Adult- -142 chapters- MC is hated by his mother and siblings, and treated like trash, but after getting his by a truck everything changes. Women had become the leaders in charge, full of sex, violence, and shamelessness. Men were valued for their looks and pursued and taken advantage of by horny women. MC proceed's to become a slut and fuck every women who breathes, basically just horing himself out. The writing is high quality, but the plot basically turn into porn where the MC eventually has sex with all the members of his family. (Six sisters and his mother) It's super hot, but doesn't really work as the MC don't think about consequences at all and hores himself out every second. Kind of "incel-y". 2/5 World of Women -EN- -Adult- -111 chapters- Our MC is transmigrated into a world where there are just 1/1000 men. Men are treated as celebrities and most women won't get the chance to be with a man ever. Men can get by with just donating their seed if they so want to, and most of them are just lazy, and not very interested in sex or women whatsoever which is understandable. Incest plot in focus, with a lot of rape and very lecherous women. Very strange story, full of drama. Not really for me, though some of the first few chapters were interesting. 2/5 Reverse World -EN- -Adult- -97 chapters- MC is an ordinary high school student, but one day he wakes up and societal values have completely changed. He has four sister, a mother and grandmother living with him, and we all know what that means. This mc isn't crazy and hores himself out to everyone, though he has sex with a lot of women, and goes a bit crazy. The character building for his family members however is actually very good, and the writing is truly high quality. The story is very hot, and it's basically just full of people doting for and lusting for mc. Mc just roles with it, loves it, and teases literally everyone. Very strange, but if you're up for something like this I think you'll enjoy it. Explores lot's of fetishes. 4/5 Flip The Script-EN -EN- -Adult- -127 chapters- World in which the morality of men and women are flipped. Not strictly gender roles, but sexuality instead. Men are reluctant to have sex and women are horny all the time. He reincarnated, to a new family and such so it's like he's lost all his memories of them. I kind of dislike stories where the mc feels like they have to tell the truth to everyone. This isn't just smut but has world-building and a real plot, though I didn't really like the mc which turned me off the story. 3/5 Rent a Boyfriend [Hiatus] -EN- -Adult- -18 chapters- Mc isn't transmigrated or anything, but has always lived in this world. This novel is set in modern Japan, where gender roles are reversed, and women are expected to be the breadwinner of their household while men are viewed as the fairer sex. Written from the male point of view, the protagonist, born in a Matriarchial society, will adhere strictly to the world's gender stereotypes and the societal norms surrounding it. Didn't finish it myself, though it seems like the mc is genuinely nice while the women are possesive. 4/5 Reverse World of Magic -EN- -Adult- -14 chapters- Mc is a teenager who is killed in his original world by a possesive girl. He's then transfered to a new world with magic and reversed gender roles. This is a story about rape, sadistic characters with like physical violence it seems, which isn't really my cup of tea. The story isn't as much about the reversed gender roles as it is about Yandere tendencies and obsessive lovers. 2/5 A Brother's Price -Traditionally released book from 2005- "In a world where males are rarely born, they've become a commodity-traded and sold like property. Jerin Whistler has come of age for marriage and his handsome features have come to the attention of the royal princesses. But such attentions can be dangerous-especially as Jerin uncovers the dark mysteries the royal family is hiding." -Not read it though I've heard it's not bad, and that it isn't too hard to find the ebook somewhere online. People say it's funny and entertaining so I really should try it out. Okay, holy shit, that's that!
