    Now, imagine a world where it's possible to genetically engineer catgirls for domestic ownership. How will society change to deal with the sudden appearance of homo felicis?

    Specifically
    1) How will humanity perceive catgirls? Neo-human? Another species? Subspecies? Slave species?
    2) What are the ethical considerations of genetically engineering humans into catgirls?
    3) What do you think will happen to society if genetically engineered catgirls becomes a reality?

    Please note that we are assuming genetically engineering catgirls is possible. Let's not talk about how it's impossible to change human into genetic catgirls.

    Personally, I believe that humanity will sexualize catgirls in a way similar to subservient species. Similar to how colonial powers often consider the locals inferior to them and try their best to put them down and keep them subservient.

    While genetically engineering human embryos into catgirl embryos may be easier and have higher chance of success, it's not a very ethical move. After all, embryos can't give consent, and therefore they can't choose whether they want to grow up as a human being or a catgirl. Especially if catgirls are considered second-class citizens or worse, slave race.

    So what are your thoughts on the issue?

    1. I dont think they would treat them as an evolved species. Maybe sub species or pet species. The worst would be the slave one.
    2. Its already unethical but maybe letting the person decide if she wants to be a catgirl and letting her decide the genetics thing involved that will be her life. Im against getting a catboy.

    Dafuq, you're talking about creating sentient beings for the sake of companionship.
    By splicing human DNA and cat DNA?
    This would be weird and completely unethical. You can't just create a being on the same level of intelligence as us and force it to be a pet.
    While i believe genetic engineering will be a big part of humanity in the future "recreational" engineering would probably be frowned upon and be more on the level if getting a full body tattoo in the 80's compared to "hurr durr you gut dem animul ears yur be slav" level
