Getting my Wisdom Teeth extracted next week and its impacted. I regret not doing this in my early 20's. Any tips? Was it painful? My operation is scheduled next week and I'm so anxious about it. First GERD, second eye floaters now impacted wisdom teeth. Feels like this body of mine is starting to rot haha

Depends honestly. If the dentist fully drugs you up, then you won't even feel or remember a thing. If he just numbs the surrounding area, then I can only pray for your continued sanity.

edit; If the dentists opts to drugging you, remember to record it. People say some funny shit when they're drugged for wisdom teeth extraction.

Nah only thing painful about getting your teeth pulled is the anesthetic injection in your gums to numb the pain for extraction. They may include laughing gas as well. I usually have to get double injection because one just isn't enough for me.

And you may think it will be painful after they are pulled but you would be surprised by the lack of pain afterwards. Of course each person is different so you may feel a lot after, but everyone I talked to say barely any pain. Course they will give you a script for the pain. You most likely get some generic oxycodone

only local anesthesia in our country when it comes to this operation so most likely she'll only numb it. RIP me

Both mine were impacted at the bottom. Got one removed years ago. Need to see someone bout the second cos I think it might need to be taken out.

It’s not really painful when they do it. But it would be afterwards. I suggest you eat soft food afterwards. Like rice porridge? So you don’t have to chew and move your mouth a lot

They don't use laughing gas in here. Only anesthetic injection. I watched some wisdom tooth vlogs in youtube and one says the extraction part is the only painful one and it made her cry lol

    Scary af

I got mine out a few years back and one was sideways. There was a canine that was impacted as well so they just put me to sleep and it was over in 45 mins. I was sore and couldn't eat solid foods for a day. I only threw up on the way home cause of my mother's bad driving...

    EDIT:
For food, you won't want really cold or hot stuff like ice cream on the first day but pudding and jello should be fine. You will also have to be careful brushing your teeth and use salt water to rinse your mouth a few times a day instead of mouthwash.

The surgery itself is okay. It's the after that is a pain... Couldn't even move my mouth for the rest of the day and was only able too eat proper food after abt a week. During the week of pain and suffering it was mainly just porridge and non chewy food...

when it grew sideward, that's why they call it impacted. Usually it hurts as you age like mine does. Never hurt when I was in my 20's, only now that I'm 31.

I will say this much from experience: IT WILL BE FUCKING PAINFUL IF THE ANESTHESIA DOESN’T WORK AS INTENDED!!!

Other than that, you won’t be able to eat for a while due to the anesthesia and the bleeding. So good luck and have fun!

If they drug you completely, you won't remember a thing. I had all 4 of mine come out at the same time. The last thing I remember was a needle connected to an IV going into my arm, then I have some hazy images of me stumbling and nearly face planting into the back seat of the car, then I woke up at home and panicked when I saw the clock cause I thought I missed my appointment.

also had my wisdom teeth extracted a few years ago
and well it did hurt like hell since mine were a bit big ( the dentist needed to break it to remove it)

    so my tips
    1. have someone accompany you (mental support?!)(driving the car/or call a taxi )
    2. hearing music while getting the Wisdom Teeth extracted
    3. after it is extracted cool it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its important if dont want it to swell extreamly
    4. no solid food for a while and no milk
    5. rest
    6. oral hygiene
