There were a lot of cute moments... but the most memorable one is when the ML know he was walking into a trap set up by his father the emperor to kill him. He fooled the MC to go somewhere else so she would live while he was so tired of all the intrigue and just want to die. But the MC came and rushed into the ambush giving him a reason to live. He was poisoned in the process so the MC went with him all over the world to find a cure. I cried when the ML was about to give up on living...and cried again when the MC give him a reason to live. Not a cute moment but definitely the defining moment in the novel...
What is the reason MC give him to live? Her? Cuz she loves him? Or other thing? And in the end ML gave up of giving up on living?

Why is Chu Qing-Yan's mother not doing anything.. isn't she from a noble family??? Is like Chu Qing-Yan is protecting and defending both her parents... and is make it feel like the mother is useless...
I'm assuming it's because that's how women of those times are built. Their mindset is not the same as ours of modern times, where we would emphasize more with MC since she has a more liberal way of thinking.
I only read up to chapter 160 in the raw, and nothing happen to her as of yet BUT Spoiler Apparently, she was originally one of the concubine’s poeple She went (was sent?) to the ML place to spy?? Or something But later she fell in love with him and we all know, the ML is cold to everyone. I think she belived that this would change later and he would like her. AND, after the MC entered the residence, she thought the little girl would make a joke of herself. But later, the ML was taking care of her, and the MC was the only one who could touch him. (The ML doesn’t like to be touch by anyone) - and it seems because of that, she started to report to the concubine again So, we will found out about this after she reported one incident to the concubine (it only happened once as of now)
It didn’t take long, I think she is dead (they didn’t say it exactly, but she did something and was definitely punished) Spoiler The ML get a little stressed and drank too much He passed out and the MC carried him to his room The maid latter sneeked so she can get to the ML bed (it seems she thought that was her only choice and chance) But, the ML woke up when she was touching (removing?) his belt and kicked her. She Tried to explain it was a misunderstanding and she was only concern. But then the ML told her about one of the resident rules, which is “don’t enter his room at night” and she broke it. She wanted for him to also consider all these years which she served him Fire spirit was enrage and then exposed that they knew that she was spying on the ML and betrayed him. But the ML didn’t care and let it be. But now it doesn’t seem the case anymore Well, from the point of what I read, she doesn’t care about the ML She herself is struggling in the palace because of the concubine Spoiler She seems a bit unreasonable But she had a little story as well for her (not sure if it was already mentioned in the translation) The emperor had a great service with a general(?) in the army. So to later get more power and ascend to the throne, he married the empress (the general daughter) However, the concubine was the emperor childhood sweetheart (I think it was the idea of her father, because he was the emperor teacher or something) And that concubine has the emperor favour and she knows how to act (two faced) She act concern and loving woman in front of the emperor. But she is rethluss when he is not watching So, yeah The empress has her own issue Her husband just used her to get power and then turn to his sweetheart
