I read it on the website where it is being translated... I let out a little tear.

 

From what it's written it seems is the translator dropping it not the author himself. Also seems the reason is racism.

Yeah. I would be interested in seeing the contents of the chapter. I guess the author's choice of words or tone must have been fairly bad. I will be dissapointed if it's simply because the characters in the story are racist. Surely he doesn't agree with rape etc. but there's no problems translating that.

 

I honestly don't know how to feel about this in one side I'm completely raging because the translator screwed us like this instead of researching this kind of stuff before hand and translating so much, but on the other side I also think is up to the translator to do as he chooses and that his firm stance towards his beliefs is commendable. I can only hope someone else picks it up since it was fast becoming a favorite of mine and I can ignore such writing since the author himself probably is not doing this out of hatred just to move the story along or so I hope it is.

 

I am just like dafuk where is the racism. (What does he mean by racism lol) Well it is his choice and i respect that. I thank him for all the chapter he has translated so far.

 

Welp, in the end it is the translator's decision. If you want to read it, you may as well learn Chinese.
Btw, God and Devil World has already been finished. It has about 1400 chapters. If you google it, you can find many spoilers.

 

I was beyond shocked. I hope it will be picked up.

We cant force the translator to translate if he is uncomfortable. Whether his reason agreeable for us or not.

For the case of racism on the novel in my own opinion. I really dont care, Its a novel for pete's sake. If your not comfortable reading it don't read, same goes with translating if your not comfortable then don't no one can force you.

 

Well, hopefully a new translator will pick it up.

 

The racism against JP in china is pretty strong in lit. but the same can be said vice versa, The racism against CN in JP is strong as hell too in lit. It might not be as strong sometimes, but it's still there. No idea what the translator thought when it came to the topic of this.. but it's pretty common between these two countries.. (No way am I supporting racism, but just figured he would of known already..)

 

I think someone will pick it up. It already has an established reader base, is ranked fairly highly, and has many chapters remaining.
We can hope

 

I never thought about that but not that you mention it I realize it's true both countries share that so I can see why many westerners like myself would not care and maybe not notice it since we are usually un involved in that particular racial war.

 

You can see the racism pretty easy in most translated JP novels when they mention china,as they are usually portrayed as evil and wanting their land and all that.
But like I said I don't support the racism, but at this point its just a thing that's there and I don't really seeing it going away anytime soon.~ (Even though we are suppose to live in a world without it.. but I think that's just a western view atm.)

 

Mostly western remember we (americans) still have out own skeletons in that particular closet and some not even fully discomposed. (I feel so smart about that reference of a certain american candidate for presidency who has a lot of money)
