No Minchie yet...but nice cooking competition chapter. So the spaghetti is a desert? ;)

I hope that the next chapter comes out soon...I anticipate Kaya's stronger feelings to get back to cooking. :)

C0: Did he not save any money when he was a teacher? It doesn't sound like he had kids or an unemployed wife, so it shouldn't have been difficult for him to put aside at least half of his earnings, even if he wasn't particularly frugal. Also, why wouldn't he go to a culinary school of some sort? A high class restaurant isn't going to let him cook if he can't prove himself to them in some way, and he's not going to be able to prove himself if he's never really studied or practiced.

Why would he need to return to when he was young? There's nothing about cooking that requires you to be a twenty-something to pursue it. Sure, it makes things easier, but it's far from necessary, and with whatever other cheat he's about to get, it becomes totally pointless.

C1: If he's trying to impress her, then why did he intentionally make it wrong?

Also, what makes him think that his parents that get upset at him reading a fiction book every now and then would be okay with him becoming a chef, regardless of how good he was. It'd be completely out of character for them.

C2: Why would a 23 yr old need his parent's permission to do anything? Unless he wants to attend a culinary school and needs them to help him pay for it, what they think doesn't matter in the slightest.

If he just wants to maintain the peace, then he can attend college (which should be super easy for him since he was a teacher for seven years), get a job as a chef after school and tell his parents that he wants to earn his own spending money. They might object, but it should be a fairly easy argument to win. Thanks to his cheat, within a year he should be the head chef of the restaurant. Within two, he'd be able to quit college (with or without telling his parents) and leverage his reputation to open his own restaurant. Within three, he'd be making so much money that his parents wouldn't even think of trying to force him to go back to college.

If he wants to be even more pacifistic about it, he could use his future knowledge to make a few key investments that would pay off in the near future and use the money to fund cooking experiments. Then, he could start a cooking blog where he'd write articles about cooking techniques, how to cook on a budget, upcoming foodie trends, various unusual ways to prepare popular ingredients, etc. and posted some of his recipes. Once he had a large enough following, he could contact sponsors who would start sending him ingredients for free and paying him to promote their goods on his site (I've known people that did this. The bar for entry isn't actually that high if you're good with people and write interesting articles). So long as he got popular enough that this paid more per year than teachers make, his parents would probably let him quit college and focus on it full time. At that point, he could write cookbooks, start a cooking show, open a restaurant, or do whatever it is that he really wants to do as a chef.

I wonder why Korean MC's always have beautiful, school aged younger sisters that are generally extremely smart, super popular and total bro-cons.

Didn't he always want to be a chef? Why is everyone so surprised about him knowing how to cook?

“Won’t it be tastier than mom’s cooking?” Wow. That'd get me slapped upside the head if I said that in front of my mom.

C3: So, is it pork or is it beef?

C4: If he really wants to win, he should be working on his sob story rather than his cooking. Reality TV cares far more about the former than the latter.

C5: "he could only guess the dishes which tasting level was inferior to his cooking level" Shouldn't this be "he could only guess the dishes which had a score that was inferior to his tasting level"? It doesn't really make sense otherwise.

"New York is a city so it won’t be as dangerous." Um, he doesn't know much about NY does he?

Airplane food gets a four? Has the author never been on a plane before? That garbage is lucky to get a two.

He should call his card companies immediately and get all of them canceled. After that, he should check with the Korean embassy to see if they can help him with a place to stay for the night. If any of the card companies he uses is good, then that should be enough time for them to rush him a new card(s) so that he can be self-sufficient again. As for any of the companies that can't get him a new card by the next day, he should stop doing business with them immediately.

C8: I wonder if he'll wind up partnering up with the guy and re-starting his jelly factory or a similar business.

C9: "Japanese people aren’t as calm minded as mister.” That's a weird prejudice, and not one I've ever heard from an American.

C10: Why did he show up two weeks before the competition? Did he not know how expensive hotels are in NY?

C13: I'd say that there's a fifth point that is Lucas' family.

C14: He should have talked to the Deans before refusing. That story wouldn't just help him. It could also have helped them.

C16: I love that this series acknowledges that not all people love all dishes. So few food-centric series do.

Actually, of the ingredients listed, tofu is the least likely to appear in an American home.

Since when is salami a top end food?

It'll be strange if the Deans don't question how he knew to practice catfish meatballs specifically.

C18: I wonder if the cameras caught their little bartering session.

C19: “I believe that he will at least make a dish better than chewing running shoes.” lol. Such faith. ;)

C20: I really hope they don't go with the racism angel with Anderson. It'd be so very cliche.

C22: Personally, I would have advocated for choosing the desert first and basing everything else on that. Marco is the best baker in the competition, and therefore, their greatest advantage over everyone else.

That aside, the fact that both of his teammates were eliminated early on in the old timeline makes me wonder if this was the point at which they were disqualified.

C23: If he's thinking of changing it at the last moment, I hope he'll remember to run the simulation first. Just doing it on the fly isn't just risking his own future after all.

C24: I wonder if he'll try to help her.

C25: I wonder who she was teamed up with originally.

C26: If she was disqualified in the previous timeline, then why was he surprised about it this time around?

C27: Looking forward to fan reaction to their little conversation ;)

Also wondering why no one has told his parents that he's on TV in America yet. If you consider the six degrees of separation, there's really no reason for word to not have gotten back to them by now.

C30: I wonder if Chloe's skills are deteriorating for some reason.

C31: "Grand Party City" Shouldn't this be "Grand Pastry Chef" or something like that? Party City doesn't really make any sense.

C32: Legally speaking, you can't actually drop out of school in middle school. High school is the earliest you can do it and not have the cops knocking on your door.

C34: If he means a rice cooker, then they're super common in the US. I can't remember ever not having one in my home.

C35: Well, I'm sure he'll bounce back in the next round. I'd be shocked if there wasn't another one since they didn't act like it was anything special the last time they did one.

C38: It's a really bad idea to have a private conversation with a judge, especially one of the opposite gender.

    C39: lol.

I wonder if they'll get to pick their teams, and if the people they pick will be allowed to refuse.

C40: I assume Kaya will pick Chloe next, but I wonder if Jacob will be smart enough to poach Marco. Though, there's a small part of me that thinks Kaya might go for Marco first since his desert specialty might be worth more to the team depending on the mission.

C41: I wonder if he realized Marco's value on his own, guessed it based on Marco's friendship with the MC, or if Anderson told him.

“I want to go to the bathroom. Minjoon, let’s go together.” rofl. So subtle XD

Wow, that was totally a proposal O.O

C42: Why would there be cameras in the rooms but not in the halls? They're not making pornography. It makes no sense at all.

C45:"Sansa Stark : Am I the only one who thinks that Marco is cute?" Jeoffry would be so jelly.

C53: They really should have evaluated his dish first so that he could be sent off for proper treatment sooner.

C55: He really shouldn't have discarded Marco so easily. You don't have to cook the food in the truck to sell it from there, and breads will always be necessary and popular items, not to mention having ridiculous markups.

Anderson was the worst choice of the three. He has the worst attitude and his specialty has the worst synergy with the mission. It also damages his relationship with Kaya who was clearly the better choice even if we disregard their friendship.

I wonder how they plan to get around the issue of business licenses. I sincerely doubt that any local government wouldn't have them. If for no other reason than that the established businesses would insist on them to make it harder for new businesses to crop up.

C56: Why not pick the location first and then pick the menu to match it? The number of foods they can make is near infinite, but the number of good locations to sell their products definitely isn't.

C57: Why would they be allowed to advertise to the fans? This is a week long challenge, and episodes almost certainly air weekly, so it's impossible for all the episodes to have aired unless they're planning to skip a week. That being the case, the team's advertising themselves is basically telling the world exactly who will get kicked off in upcoming episodes. That's a disastrous thing from the PD's perspective. There's no way they'd allow it.

I wonder if they brought enough raw ingredients? ;)

Also wondering how they're planning to package the food. If they're selling lots of bite size items, they'd need to be selling multiples at a time, which would require special packaging so that people could eat straight from said packaging.

C58: Rice is stupidly cheap. Why is he worrying about wasting it? It's the greatest possible bottleneck, and even if they have to throw an entire pot away, it wouldn't impact their profit margin as much as a single missed sale.

You know, since they're inexplicably being allowed to advertise themselves, they should really just find a business that's willing to pay them to setup their truck outside of it. They could probably make more in those two days from that partnership than they'd make from an entire week of selling food. Considering the crowds they can draw, not many businesses would refuse such a deal. It even has the added bonus of helping them to come up with appropriate themes since they're supposed to change what they're selling based on the area.

C62: If that was her plan, then why did she even bother to contact Martin? She could have just gone and let them deal with the aftermath.

A million is a large town, or a small city. It's definitely not a large city though. At least, not by US standards.

lol. This is definitely going to make Martin ecstatic ;)

C63: I wonder why he didn't check her skills. One glance would likely have been enough to impress him more than anything the others could tell him about her.

C66: Why wouldn't they get equal numbers of both courses and share? Or better yet, each order something different and share? Or failing that, order the plant course? This is a learning experience as much as it is anything. Learning how to make a world class dish with food you normally look down on is much more valuable than the alternative.

C70: How would you use the oven? Unless it's a toaster oven, it wouldn't even be heated in ten minutes, much less cook a steak in that time without being preheated.

Honestly, I thought for sure that it'd be a baking mission. With the topic being desert though, he can avoid baking altogether.

C71: I wonder how upset the chef that thought that recipe up will be to see it being demonstrated on international TV.

C75: Why would you make omelets for a buffet? The eggs would dry out and become like rubber while sitting on the buffet line. I know. I've eaten from buffets that included scrambled eggs. You had to be really careful when scooping them up. They'd be sub-par no matter what, but at least if you were careful they wouldn't be wholly inedible.

Yeah, honestly, the people making deserts were at a disadvantage. He really should have considered making something like rolls that people would eat with their meals rather than after them.

C76: I wonder what the author's planning to do once this reality show arc is over. Basically anything s/he chooses will feel like a drastic tonal shift at this point.

I'm also curious why his family hasn't asked about Kaya yet...

C78: I wonder if they'll give them extremely strange ingredients, or ingredients that are borderline inedible. Personally, I'm expecting the former, but hoping for the latter.

C81: lol. Alan's the sort to spread misery around it would seem ;)

C83: There was nothing in that comment that was worth caring about. I can see why some fans and haters might respond to it, but the fans would most likely just call her a jealous troll and things would degrade from there. There's nothing in that for anyone important to actually care about.

C85: If all the dishes are 8s, but the composition is a six, then that's a pretty clear sign that it's a terrible composition and he should change it.

C87: And that's why you have to be a bit greedy. They've said it multiple times after all. They weren't going to eliminate her when she was begging to stay and he wasn't. Not when their skill levels were so close anyway.

C91: First degree burns won't normally scar. Also, if the oil was on his clothes, then it wouldn't be just a first degree burn. It'd be at least a second degree burn with third degree being more likely with how long it took him to remove his clothes.

C96: "But compared to the other participants, his cooking skills are more outstanding." I really wish that the proofreader actually read the chapter as they were proofing it. This sentence is clearly wrong, especially if you read the next sentence.

C99: I wonder if she decided to take a dive. I'm sure she meant everything she said, but I'm not so sure that she would have made the same dish if her opponent had been Anderson.

C101: I wonder if Martin will air the scene with the MC and Chloe.

C105: Bigly isn't a word. It's why Trump gets made fun of so much for saying it...

I really thought it'd be Anderson. I wasn't sure if the MC would win or not, but I was sure he'd make it to the final round.

C108: Something tells me that if Dongbin did interview him, it wouldn't be a friendly interview.

C115: I wonder how nervous the caterer for that party is. This is definitely a party that could destroy them if anything went wrong.

C117: Ah, so it's another reality show. I wonder if the author will start a third reality show when this one ends.

C119: I wonder if Martin's regretting bringing Rachel onto the show ;)

C122: Why would Tess know that Kaya's father was looking for her before Kaya did? It's not like Kaya's family ever moved. At least, I got the impression that they had lived at the same location all the way up until the contest, and they wouldn't have been able to move immediately after the contest.

All that aside, I'm surprised that her dad didn't locate her sooner. A scumbag like that would normally have come knocking sometime between her hitting top ten and top four. Even if she didn't win, he could just beat the crap out of her and the rest of her family to vent and then leave again.

Normally, I wouldn't post until I'd caught up, but it's been a few days now and I can't seem to motivate myself to read the next chapter. I'll continue on if/when that changes.

    There it goes~
    @jacobpaige's long review~~~
First of all,0:eek:pinion is nice,I haven't considered it at all
Second, why come back in time? As if MC ever needed this kind of reasioning. Damn, the worst kind of scums who betrayed their lovers, divorced or kicked out wifes or women who only knew how to enjoy themselves all either transmigrated or reincarnated. Compared to them minjoon's leagues ahead.
3rd: why won't he go to college? Wasting time. Why need their permission? He's their child? He isn't unfilial, even if they block him he can still do that. But it's his parents!! Who would want to get into a fight with them when he can just prove that with his abilities.
As you've said,he has no base despite his passion. Or can you make perfect soufflé for the first time knowing the recipe? I'll applaud if you can. Plus,if he won't get a cheat won't it become boring?
Why did He not invest? Who the hell would pay attention to stocks of certain years, when he is a teacher who has nothing to do with it? Rather, novels like rebirth smth, where normal hacker or office worker remember stocks of particular year. I can't remember what I wore 2 weeks ago. But they remember such insignificant things
