Pretty much this. Now Qidian decides that MTL is good enough as an "official translation". On top of that skipping over MTL'd content because of "censorship". Fuck Qidian, they don't even give a shit about the quality, they clearly just want money.
Not only are they mtl, but they have used threats against translators to get control of a translation. I guess they'll fit right in with qidian, actually
I really don't get how they thought getting a machine translation group to translate for the official publisher of the novel was a good idea.
Qidian tells their authors to censor shit after a while. It's not actually intended by the authors, they simply have no choice. It's either censor or their novels get taken down from Qidian entirely due to someone in China saying so. A bunch of authors have had their novels pulled, that is, completely deleted from Qidian because something they wrote did not conform with the laws, such as having lesbians, religion, and certain cases of violence. It may be illegal in China, but these laws don't affect anyone else worldwide.
If they truly want to hit the international market, maybe they should conform to that market in those aspects at least. It's not like the erotic scenes that were pulled were all that hardcore for our market.
Pretty much shows that they didn't think about it before setting up on international waters, just blinded by greed.
Someone should get Cocooned Cow to put some erotic scenes in his novels so qidian will drop them, and we can get them back on Wuxia World

I thought there was a tiny possibility that it might happen because qidian has been pretty lazy and sloppy in their work so far, but wuxia dream is the absolute most degenerate scum in the translation community. I mean, I knew there was possibly some mtl'ers from xxw and novel saga that they used for their "official" translator, so there bar is obviously not high. Wuxiadream is also an aggregator site, right? And they used death threats against people. What is qidian thinking?

Quick question. I remember reading the novel before it went to QI and the translation quality was pree good, but then it turned really garbage. Does the translation ever get better on QI and were the old chapters ever edited?
