What do you think of Eye powers compared to other powers?

  2. Depends. It's cool looking, but I'd rather focus on the power than cosmetics.

  3. Meh, I'd rather not use my eyes as the source of power. I'd lose my eyes, if I lost the power.

  4. Sorry, but eye powers are making me cringe. 2 weeb 4 me. >.>

I've just realized that I rarely see a good fanfic, translated, or original novels that the MC use eye powers as the main power of their arsenal.
Most of the novels I read with eye powers, like 'in the different world with naruto system' have basically below average plot. Tranxending Vision and King of Gods are decent, but not good enough.

So, I'm actually curious that if any of you could recommend me of a good story which the MC uses eye powers as the main arsenal?
A good examples are Code Geass, The Garden of Sinner, Divine Throne of Primordial Blood, Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu, etc.

It's fine to give me anything in any form: Anime, novels, manga, manhwa, fanfic, you name it. But of course, I'd prefer it in novel form.
    Thx for reading (y)

I only know the same ones you said. It is quite difficult to find a good novel with eye powers.

Pursuit of the truth sort of has eye power. But for some reason I can’t read it with my normal level of concentration. Although it’s pretty good, so far (~ch.150)

Well, it also depends on what you mean by "main power". MC in My Blind Familiar gains a, as the title says, blind familiar, which, three quarters of the way through book 1, develops the ability to see mana in order to compensate for not being able to see light. While it's only remarked on when the ability is notably different to normal vision, it's significant in several plot points, is required for the character's family to rise from poverty, and is otherwise a bigger benefit than the Familiar having normal vision would have been.

What I meant by main power is the MC would be completely relying on his eye powers throughout the stories till the very end. Without the eye power, there will be no plot/story.
Just like Code Geass, the story revolved from the MC gain the Geass power and the story of him abusing that power.

Very different when compared to Naruto, where the eye powers (Sharingan, Byakugan, Rinnegan, etc) hold a significant portion of the story, but the MC (Naruto) does not rely on the eye powers, so it does not count.
If the MC is Sasuke, however, then it is count as the 'main power'.

Or if it's like Death note, where the MC hold a powerful shinigami eye powers, but the main power is not the eyes, but rather the death note itself. The eyes are there just to support, because the MC is relying more on the death note, more than the eye power itself.
If there is no death note on the story, only then it is count as the main power. Does that make sense?

Note that the eye power does not have to be powerful. But, what crucial is the MC must rely on that power completely till epilogue. That's it.

...while I don't think that it's what you're looking for, I standby My Blind Familiar technically fitting your requirements, as is any story where the protagonist's vision is outright stated to be "unnatural" (magically generated, only possible due to technological implants, that sort of thing). Unless, of course, you don't see the titular Familiar character as the Main Character, as the story focuses primarily on both it and it's master, and the master's environment changes more. As for why I don't think that it's what you're looking for, the Familiar's unnatural vision is vital to the story, and significantly important to how it progresses, even if it's irregularly mentioned, simply because it's how that primary character sees. The power does develop over the course of the story, but the fact that it is how the otherwise blind character sees is the most important part of that specific eye power.
