*Get's up from his puddle of tears* So I should probably give some background before I start I'm reading this manga Oyasumi Punpun (Goodnight Punpun) by Asano Inio It's a bit of a... surreal manga and to those of you who haven't read it, I highly recommend you give it a try. it's done with 147~ chapters. Anyway, I'm reading it right now and (I'm being intentionally vague here) something happened to someone who hasn't appeared in the manga for a while, and I was like 'who's that again?' and decided to google them along with name of the manga... And was summarily spoiled by one of google's autofills I was devastated, knowing what was going to happen and I'm not ashamed to say I shed a few (manly) tears. I made this thread (in part) as an outlet for the pain and also to make myself feel better by reading other people's similar experiences I want to make a safe haven for those of us... who've had to experience the pain of massive and uncalled for spoilers Post your pain, I'm listneeing ... Creepiness aside, I won't go into detail, for those of you who want to read the manga, but I highly recommend you google this manga very carefully, and if possible, just jump straight into reading it, there's no nsfw stuff to be aware of (AFAIK) so that shouldn't stop you. Slightly NSFW, not anything serious, but your probably don't want to read some chapters in the office or something ********************************************************* And since I'm all about going green, I decided to use this thread for something else too, rather than just making another one So I while back, I made a thread asking for recommendation for manga here, and one of the manga I was recommended was Claymore (I think its pretty good too, but due to the action and themes, I don't recommended it nearly as much as Oyasumi Punpun.) So I decide by (somewhat) random chance to read it first and as I read it, I couldn't shake the feeling of Deja vu. Then it hit me... I've read this manga before I vaguely remembered binging it when I still used to go to school, and I kind of remembered the ending, but for some reason I couldn't remember anything about it. There was just this huge gap of characters, plot events and such. So I'm wondering, has anything like this ever happened to you guys?
In my defense, this not a problem often enough to be really worth turning off autofil and besides, I'm not blaming it on google, I just wanted to vent and as such made this thread
I'm a god at avoiding spoilers. I have suffered no major spoilers of any kind for the last couple years. In fact, I can hardly remember a time when I did. It's even easier now that addons allow you to block any content related to a subject matter, so I doubt I'll get hit in a while either. I can't remember why I became so paranoid about spoilers, but I know it was a huge one. it was just so long ago now I don't really remember it anymore.
When I first started reading Game of thrones a few years ago I kept Googling the names of the characters to see what their TV counterparts looked liked. It was then that I realised I was a phenomenally stupid person.
We think same brother. Though I had a few encounters with spoilers, nothing too major... Well, unless @Lithit wants to hear about that time where I started reading a manga from the second book, and didn't realize it till I was over 200 chapters in... Pretty heavy spoilers there, xD... no, it's not fun... Sigh, it happens to the best of us.
Ha, reminds me of the time I watched the second season of an anime without eve realising I was so shocked. ... Never did watch the first season though.
At chapter 7 of oyasumi punpun, and I'm left wondering when we will see the MC's face... Also, hope for not too much tragedy, or misunderstandings... A bit hard to read though...
I'm about halfway through, still no face and I'm just going to say there will likely never be one (though there will be scenes where we get a general feel of what he looks like) It's kind of a theme of the manga
