I'm not sure if its just me, but gravity tales's ads have gotten quite out of hand. When I want to read a chapter on my mobile, everythings fine for the first few seconds. Then I get redirected to an ad directly after and I can't see the screen. Currently, I turn of my wifi the minute the page loads so I dont get redirected. Is this happening to any of you guys?
That's happened to me the other week. Never had a problem before then. I used to do that too. I've resorted to Adblock now.
Same here. The admins are saying that they have actually made the ads less annoying. So far it's opposite for me.
Hey @akki , @strixflash , @tinnydevil , could you guys email [email protected] to help us solve the problem? If nothing else, clearing your cache should fix the issue.
I never said it was their fault. I just said that the redirects are annoying. I cleared cache & cookies but still same. Now I started using UC Browser as it supports ad-block on Android. Don't want to use ad-block but...
There are people that don't use ad-block, even on mobile? Gee, you guys must want to support the translators or something. If the ads are getting to be too much for you, though, just use ad-block like everyone else.
I prefer not to use adblock on sites that I like and frequent. That said, this has happened to me many times on mobile. I just press stop before the ad pops up and I'm good. Also, never bothered looking for adblock on my mobile.
An easy fix disable javascript if you're on your mobile. All the ads goes away only down side is you can't post comment until you reenable it.
I use adblock but whitelist certain sites. Honestly, there are a few things I find annoying about ads. Popup/Redirect Ads; These are by far the worse and most intrusive, especially on a phone. Clutter Ads; This is plain stupid and makes viewing the site difficult and impractical on a phone. Video ads; I hate these on websites, especially when I'm visiting systems from my phone using mobile data. Most annoying is how distracting the audio are, causing me to play where's waldo to turn off audio. Animation Ads; Similar reasons as video. They are distracting, and they waste my mobile data. Not a huge deal when I'm at home on my PC. Non-related Ads; Seriously, when I viewing a website, I rather see ads that redirect to similar content. For example, on a game websites, I want to see ads relating to other games as well. If I am on a manga website, I want to see ads relating to anime/manga/etc. merchandise. Trivial in the end, but if I see certain ads that I really do not like, I'm putting on my adblock list to never be whitelist ever again.
Redirect ones are the most annoying for me. With running video adds in close 2nd. The ones that forced a riderect on a chapter link and the auto downloading an .apk though... are on a whole different level.. might even drop whatever Im reading..
I go on sufficient "shifty" websites in my search for free stuff, that redirect ads don't bother me, even with the apk download. I'm skilled enough that I can cancel the downloads now and exiting the webpage is somewhat second nature too. Video ads you can't x though without disabling JS, which I find more annoying
