    This is in no way an attack on any group mentioned it this thread. Just a little theory crafting.

    So I've been thinking about LNB and have been wondering if the recent discussions between QI and Munpia, which was instigated by GT, has impacted the translations of KR novels(specifically popular ones).

    If so, LNB would have been somewhat legally stonewalled from posting any translated works on their main site. Has anyone noticed a slowdown of populate translated KR works that are tied to Munpia?

    If this is the case then i do hope the original translators have the opportunity to continuing translating if those works get picked by the GT website.

    Anyone have any thoughts on this or happen to be more knowledgeable on the matter of the slow down KR translations including the negotiations between QI and Munpia?

    P.S. i'd love to see Spectator come back.

    Majority shareholders on Munpia was reported having meeting with Tencent on Dec 27 last year.
    The meeting was rumored about Munpia asking for Tencent investment on their IPO.

    Why is everyone being a sensationalist? This is a legitimate topic of discussion.

    What right would LNB possibly have to attack Qidian for possibly obtaining legal rights to novels (and potentially offering a means to continue translating) when they, LNB, probably just rip the original works and translate? Even with "permission" these works are often tied to the platform they use for exposure.

    Most translations are legally flimsy unless an author who gives permission has 100% control over their works and means of distribution.

    And i say again, this is not an attack on anyone

    They're basically a front for the PRC. If anyone thinks the PRC would let a company grow so large without making it one of their tools then you're delusional.
