As we were tired of the constant problems we exprienced with AWS we moved from AWS to Azure, which means we need to change our DNS which takes time to propagate, during that change though we accidentally used HSTS which is an unsafe protocol so for those of you seeing the "this connection is unsafe" you are on the old rendition before we made the proper changes to secure the site, unfortunately there isnt anything you can do or i can do to speed it up, you could try to manually update your dns by going to cmd and typing ipconfig /flushdns

now I'm getting this "The specified CGI application encountered an error and the server terminated the process."

 

The CGI problem has been fixed and hopefully will be the last of the site crashing problems

Site don't even open in my iPad (where I normally read my novels, docs etc, bad eyes here), and in my phone it works, a little slow and only sometimes but it's better than nothing. If I became blind its your fault =P

We got hammered with traffic about an hour ago, like double what our normal peak views are, most likely since its been down a couple days, so we couldn't handle it and had to add more instances to our web servers for better load control, should hopefully be back up now and faster.

 

I don't really understand coding but couldn't these problems have been prevented before hand? I don't know like a beta test of sorts? I'm very ignorant of pretty much everything programming related so please excuse any involuntary impoliteness on my part.

 

Um, we did lots of testing, but its impossible to really be like "we will get X traffic here and Y traffic here and we need to be able to handle Z traffic" Because traffic coming in from everywhere is different, when i go to the page i load it in one second, i have 100 mb/s someone might have 10 mb/s so they take 4 seconds, but then they take as much as 4x of our processing speed, and then someone else gets a hang up and takes 10x as long and then at the same time we run piwik which keeps track of views so suddenly we have extra traffic stacked, so while we ran extensive tests its almost impossible to plan perfectly to match all the traffic, unless we MASSIVELY overscale and then start to slowly downscale which costs more then we can afford.

 

it worked nearly the whole day for me (was sleeping half the day so have no idea how the others had it.....) but now i have a CGI error.....
PS: OK works again i am thinking of making as many tabs with chapters as possible so i dont need to load anything when it does not work.....

 

Why is iy everytime i visit gravitytales webpage to read the new updates. its always redirecting me in the homepage .. Is it the webpage ory browser??
