Wwaaahhhh... thanks to this post, i discovered this novel... haha, sorry, i jumped to the ending as i have limited connection. But Spoiler the stepmother wanted to of Qiqi for the inheritance from the grandfather. It seems that Qiqi is the favorite person of her super rich grandfather so she is the sole heiress of all the fortune. Her grandfather was still calling for Qiqi's name as he was dying, . The moment the grandfather died, the stepmom was really excited for the will reading that she annoyed the lawyer with her interruptions. Fortunately, the grandfather was clever. To insure that no harm will come to Qiqi, he stated that in the event of Qiqi's or her children's death, all property will be given to charity. (Haha!!) the stepmom was in desbelief, but since everything is airtight, she has no choice but to tell the lawyers to hold the property as she will bring Qiqi back, at this time Qiqi was already missing for a long time and presumed dead, but when she confronted the witch, the witch told her that there is no way to bring her back. The stepmom accidentally killed the witch in her anger not noticing that she was bitten by something. She came back and tried to contest the will to no avail, she also contracted a disease where when she is exposed to the sun she will have many bug bites then she started having hallucinations of bugs instead of good so she can't eat until she became insane. For now, that is all i can write, i'll read it later... hope it helps..

Spoiler: how ugly was the MC? Well, her basic features remained the same (symmetrical) as before the curse, but they were totally obfuscated by deformities in her facial skin--I think, twisted yellowish ridges and bumps, like after being stung by hundreds of insects in the face. While affected by the curse, the MC basically stunned everyone with her absolute hideousness--more so after everyone found out that she was actually a woman. Which leads to an interesting plot point.**see Emperor's decree Spoiler: crossdressing When the MC went back to the past, she was initially apprehended as an enemy spy by Han soldiers and dragged back to their camp, which was under the command of the 3rd Prince, the ML. Because she was wearing pants (jeans) and had short hair, she was mistaken as a man--which she didn't deny since it was safer to be thought a man than a woman, under the circumstances. After she convinces everyone that she isn't a spy, she has to serve the 3rd Prince as a "bodyguard" (she's very good at a type of modern martial art) and servant, because she's so young (only 17) and the ML doesn't intend to actually send her on the battlefield. But she's stubborn and doesn't want to be left behind, and also comes up with lots of clever ideas wherein she uses her modern knowledge to strike blows at the enemy. She becomes quite instrumental, actually, in the ultimate success of the Han army over the enemy. Spoiler: how the ML sees her Well, at first he's struck by how ugly she is, and thinks it's lucky that, being so ugly, at least she's not a woman, lol. But then he actually gradually starts to feel an attraction towards her--and he's horrified because (a) she's so ugly and (b) she's a man, as far as he knows. Whereas he's a handsome, talented prince who was admired by the most beautiful women in the capital, and he was pretty much unmoved--so how could he now be so shaken by the MC in her guise? Anyway, he discovers her gender pretty quickly (she doesn't know), and he's relieved, but still sorta horrified by how ugly she is, lol, but he's even more attracted to her--I think, because of her straightforward way of talking and attitude etc.--everything that is unique to her because well, she's a modern gal and there's no one quite like her in that olden era. He fights his attraction, but he becomes even more protective of her (doesn't want to let her fight anymore)--though hilariously, he was protective of her even before, while he still thought her a man. Spoiler: Emperor's decree Then there's some court minion who comes to check on behalf of the Emperor how the war is going, and he discovers that the newly-promoted field general (the MC) is actually a woman. And runs to tell the Emperor to create trouble for the 3rd Prince (for harboring a woman in the military ranks). Now, the Emperor is the ML's elder brother and they have a very very contentious relationship. **When he hears the MC described as the most hideous woman in the world, instead of ordering her beheaded (for infiltrating the military by disguising her gender), he grins evilly and sends down a decree forcing the ML to marry her. Basically, the Emperor wants to humiliate the ML who is handsome and talented by matching him with the ugliest woman possible, because that's the only way he can finally win over him for once. Well, when the decree comes down, the ML is unhappy but resigns himself to his fate pretty quickly (maybe his latent desires betray him, lol?). It's actually the MC who is way more against the decree (she wants to go back to the future) and even runs away. The ML--who allegedly REALLY doesn't want the marriage--instead of saying good riddance, is desperate that she'll die in the desert, poor weak female, lol, and chases after her. He doesn't find her, but she finds him in the end, and he convinces her to marry him (as the preferable alternative to beheading). However, she insists on writing a contract, with one of the clauses being "no sex." The ML acts like he couldn't care less--not like he wants to touch her, right, when she's so ugly? But as it turns out, the one condition he includes in the contract (all the other conditions were demanded by the MC) is some line of poetry? that the MC doesn't understand but which he later uses as excuse to claim his marital rights with the MC. Spoiler: consummation They get married, eventually they return to the capital and live in the ML's residence. The MC is still ugly, but one night when she tells the MC he can marry whoever he likes, and he should also let her be with another man when she falls in love--no interfering with the other's private life and freedom--the ML who's a complete goner for her by then snaps completely. He isn't willing to ever let her go, and thinks that by making her his woman, he'll bind her to him. He initiates sex, and I could really have done without this scene, because the MC resists him in the end (she doesn't want sex without love). But he takes her anyway, and because he loves her so much, apparently, in the aftermath the curse is broken and the MC regains her original face--which is beautiful to the point of overturning a country, as the saying goes in C-novels. He can't believe his eyes and keeps touching her and hugging her close (the MC had fainted due to the aftereffects of being released from the curse). The next morning, the MC isn't happy that he forced her and wants to attack him with a sword, and he doesn't defend himself. But in the end she doesn't bear to harm him, and realizes that she has feelings for him too. And then she discovers her face is normal again, and is ecstatic. That's everything at this point, i.e. only a little over halfway in the novel.
Spoiler: Emperor It was a bit muddy, but from what I could tell, he fell for her beauty instantly. He did not know who she was and thought she might be a concubine and asked insistently who she was and that he would definitely visit her. Later, he kept searching for a woman who wore a blue dress and asked every for a portrait of every concubine. When they said that it was the MC's wife, he became really mad, shouting things like, where is she ugly? He even wanted to behead the guy that said she was ugly, but he kept insisting that she really was and I tink this made the emperor doubt whether it was actually really the MC. It is around chapter 90/91, I think, if anyone would like to read the RAWs themselves, but definitely a long way to go >.<
please, i want spoilers from everyone who knows the from the time the MC was ugly then sees her now as very beautiful... i want their reactions..... >.<
So I read the raws but gave up after the emperor had taken the mc to his harem. I just want to ask a few questions... 1. Did the emperor touch the mc and do the deed? 2. Did the mc escape from the emperors clutches? How? 3. What happen to the 3rd prince? What is his reaction? ...and I skip a bit 4. Can you summaries the details about the mc and the ml faking their deaths? 5. What became of their lives after that?
