Hi. I am a newbie that just joined in. Somehow, I searched the novel using the the raw title and read two chapters with the help of mtl.
Maybe I will help on giving you guys detailed info later.

I gave this link a read, but I have a feeling this is not the same story... What I read so far is about an unlucky young 15 year old named Gu Yang who gets adopted by a rich young master named Chu Jinye. Nothing about death gods so far, where this Gu Yang wants to become an actor. I'm still skimming through it to see if it's really the same story though, but I highly doubt it.

 

Idk, the author’s name is MXTX though. Could whoever it is uploaded the novel under the wrong name?

 

I feel like it's possible because even the official jjwxc doesn't even have any raws. The whole thing reads like a modern actor novel. Knowing MXTX, she would probably do more efficient worldbuilding in the first few chapters and writes even more. Hopefully she will finally start publishing the novel soon.

 

I believe MXTX is writing the novel and will post once it is complete. IIRC, this is what she did with HoB. The whole novel was already finished when she started posting chapters.

 

I would be great if translators take on this approach as well

 

This sounds better theory than in practice. I translated a novel up to 50 chapters (40% of novel) to stock up before I started releasing but after I released a few chapters, I got an email from another group who had the novel in their future projects and they had translated around 50 chapters as well, and were planning to post it after they finished translating the whole novel.
I'm sure this sort of situation has happened to other translators before as well.

Yeah, to clear things up, the one on the weird Feiteng site isn't authentic. Lots of people have been posting supposed chapters of this novel around the web, either to use MXTX's fame or to somehow slander MXTX's name (like the time someone who hated MXTX posted chapters from a Priest work under this novel's name just to cause arguments between the two fanbases). The names of the protagonists of the Feiteng novel don't even match up with those posted by MXTX on JJWXC. This is why it's best to stick to official sites, especially since it's China we're talking about here. Also, in case anyone's wondering why the book isn't out yet, MXTX changed the original note that said the book was going to be out by the end of 2018 to something like "it'll definitely be out, but before it's out, any change is possible". It's also confirmed that the name of the book will indeed change...
