I get the feeling that the story is marching towards a Bad End, and the author is telling us so, just to see if we believe it or not.

 

It's a bad end no matter how you look at it, Soma succeeds: the world as they know it ends, Soma fails to placate the Goddess: the world literally ends, and if Soma's war fails humanity eradicates everything that's even remotely different, races, creeds, and even ideas.

 

I thinking Aura is like that miko at Higurashi no Naka no Koro ni but more sinister. Or the serious mode of that local deity.

 

Not even a Bad End. We already knew that Souma would have to kill a lot of people and would transform the world if he succeeds.

Where does it say that? Couldn't the other deities stop that?

I thought this is what Aura was implying will happen, although now that I have reread it, it seems more ambiguous.

Then some youngin tell them about Soma's legend then they rebuked them saying "Don't cite to me the legend of soma whelp, I was there when as it is being written" wait .... sounds familiar.

 

I suppose that Darius took measures against a possible ambush from the tip off he received in the capital by that limp guy.

 

It migth be or he is such a capable General that its always expecting the unexpected, I really liked that he prepared an ambush for the ambush!!!!!!!

 

Well though I think another attempt could be made by soma since the ambushers are gone but Darius might have troop to spare for his rear though.

 

He was probably cautious as there are nobles in his ranks, plus they wanted an overwhelming victory to wash away the shame.

 

Ah yes the rookie Noble heirs looking for easy experience I can think that Darius would probably lose miserably in the capitals politics if any of those heirs died.

 

The future emperor claim to be descendant of Soma so does that mean he "done it" with dwarves? Also emperor name is russian sounding so he introduce communism?

 

Could be that there were intermarriage between the races of Soma's alliance, could be that Dvalin introduced a princess to the harem, or it could be that all the generals are Soma's arms and legs, and all count as the Son of Destruction. Could be anything.

 

Could also mean that he is claiming to be a descendant of Davlin who was personally imparted that wisdom.
