was listening to this fall of civilizations podcast on the Han dynasty, and boy oh boy was the Qin dynasty messed up.....the Emperor becoming paranoid is something i dint know....a 50 year dynasty before the state breaking up.....what a waste of the unification campaign.....now i dont even want to read Kingdom anymore.....
eh~ so that video talking about rise of Han~ then enter the Jin then people went kabakabakabaka few centuries then foala Tang dynasty~ fumu that why chinese really good at scheming~
I don't know the history of my country well, not to mention China, but can the Han be considered a civilization? Then, would the fall of the Imperial Russia and then the fall of the Soviet Union also be considered "falls of civilizations"? Or, am I missing something?
Yeah it was a waste, but the first emperor's son was just reaaaaaally incompetent and cruel so it was kinda just inevitable. The first emperor wasn't really kind either (not that you could really expect him to be tbh) but at least he had power and also did lots of good things.
I'd take whatever "history" says about the last ruler of any dynasty with a grain of salt. It's easier to justify your rule by claiming the last guy was a incorrigible despot than to admit that you're a greedy bastard that threw an entire country into disarray for your personal gain.
