I looked at the raws, the abusive boss is an idiot. He seems to think that the Mc is incompetent, and one of his examples is that he feels MC is week as he passed out the like 1 time he had him do any work. Because of exhaustion almost certainly since he has the MC working several peoples workloads. When the Mc leaves the boss thinks he will be kicked out soon (as he thinks the Mc is incompetent) so decided to instead of spreading out the multiple person workload let it pile up to punish the Mc when he comes back, keep in mind that they have spent 3 years pushing these tasks on the MC so even when they start again (as well knights will get upset is made to wait to long to get their swords back) they can not even come close to the MC's quality of work. It also looks like the knights are a bunch is idiots as well, though in one side chapter a guy seemed to ask why they had been demanding the MC do the work if the knights even think that he is incompetent. If your life depends on the quality of the work done maintaining your gear, it takes a special kind of stupid to demand and possibly even beat up the incompetent worker for not doing the job when there are "competent" alternatives. The boss has also driven out a series of blacksmiths due to his insane abuse and bullying, MC was just the most recent and only still there because the jerk threatened to strip his ability to work in his field which is effectively his ability to earn a living when MC said he wanted to quit, and it looked like he eventually gets ordered to try and bring ALL of them back once it comes out that him and his lackies are well idiots.
To summarize everything the knights captain asked him why the swords sent to the knights are garbage, he found out about the abusive behavior and the lost Blacksmiths then told him to bring them back specially the Mc in the end he failed to bring the Mc back, the knight captain sent the boss to a slaves/criminals unit or something, gona be hell for him.
The lackeys, who are only there because they had "connections," all just get summarily fired. We don't hear what happens to them after that. Morgan, the Guild Master who deluded himself that he was there by merit when he was in fact there only because his father's a count, got disowned by his father who got tired of cleaning up his messes for him, especially since Morgan completely shredded the family's dignity by alienating the entirety of the Royal Knight Order with his abject incompetence, and got fired from the Blacksmith Guild to boot when he tried, and failed, to force Fake to return by jumping up and attacking him "for being ungrateful for everything the guild did for him" and trying to punch him in the face, at a social gathering of many nobles, only to be beaten down by a maid, who had a duke's sanction to do it, protecting Mistress Alicia and her fiancé from a brute's violence. With no prospects, having slept on the floor of his former office for a few days, waiting until he gets officially kicked out into the street, he jumps at the Knight Commander's offer of being a knight to learn, too late, that he's being assigned to the Knight Order under Lorza, a knight order staffed by slaves and former criminals, and the absolutely most dangerous knight unit in the country, and is informed by Lorza himself that he's about to face the very same standards he used to dish out to Fake and all the other blacksmiths he drove "to early retirement since they lacked guts" which include, but are not limited to, physical violence under the pretext of "instruction," unreasonable tasks and insane hours under the pretext of "training," and the fact that orders from his seniors are absolute, meaning if they order him to do something ridiculous like clean the latrine with his bare hands, he's going to do it. He's last seen getting dragged off, kicking and screaming, in sheer terror at the fate that awaits him. BWAHAHAHA!
