I think she had a rivalry with his sister in their ballet troupe or something, and her legs got injured because of the sister. Anyone who's recently read this is welcome to correct me lol. They're basically a pair of asshole siblings, so I didn't feel too hot about this male lead. He covered for his sister and decided to fake this engagement maybe out of guild, maybe to keep an eye on her so she won't encounter his sister. If he decided on it, he should've at least treated the MC decently lol. Instead he's a block of ice. I don't know why Chinese authors like icebergs so much. Anyway, he falls for her, she heals and gradually gets her memory back, returns to ballet, dumps him. But they do get together in the end and it's a HE. I've really just skimmed over chapters, so my spoiler may be rather inaccurate. But it's close enough. Hopefully someone else will come to give a better spoiler soon~ It's not a bad read, it's a decent drama. I just really didn't care for the male lead. At least the MC is likable.

Thank you for the spoiler. I quite enjoyed reading this. The MC is really humorous and witty. I could empathize with the cool-headed, rational ML who unknowingly falls for the hilarious and sometimes outrageous MC. Sadly, only a few translated chapters were released and the translation has stopped for some time now. I wish somebody would pick up this novel and continue translating it.
I just finished reading the MTL. I don't know a drop of Chinese so what I know might be inaccurate at some parts. But the two leads do fall for each other in their own way. I'd say that the female lead (FL) fell first because she came to realize that she was nothing without him. She was an invalid who had no home, relatives or money. She literally could not live without him. She also relies on him for emotional support later on when she starts to recall her memories of the past, but gets scared in the dark because none of the memories make sense. The male lead (ML) as cold as he was started to soften up, I think, it was around the time he saw her practicing ballet moves because FL saw the dancing shoes in the studio at ML's house. FL falls miserably because her legs can't handle the strain and she cries. If FL fell for ML based on dependency then I'd say, ML fell for FL initially out of guilt. But you can really tell he started to care about her in his actions when he bathes the cat (that he initially wanted to throw out) even though he has severe cat allergies. He gets bumps on his face.
As for the truth behind the characters: The female lead was adopted by her mother and moved to France when she was 12. (I'm unclear from the MTL if she ran away from home and just snuck into the shelter or not.) She fought fervently to leave the hut that housed the other hopeful adoptees in Mexico. Since then, our female lead has fought for parental love from a woman who used to be a ballerina, but could no longer be because of an injury. She practiced ballet until she was hella good at it, but she actually hated it. She felt trapped from her mother's and her teacher's expectations. Even the French man that pursued her often painted her in her ballerina outfit, which she fervently rejected because he also saw her as a beautiful ballerina. She was overall a cold person (quite the contrast to the FL we know which is hilarious) who practiced ballet every day to the point that she's become accustomed to the pain in her toes. Her self-proclaimed fiancee is the male lead. I'll call him ML. ML's sister was also a talented ballerina who practiced ballet with our female lead in France. FL and the sister considered each other as rivals, but our FL was better than her because FL was acknowledged by that teacher. Watching the man she loved (the French man who fervently pursued FL even though she heartlessly rejected him) and the ballet teacher that she desired taken from her, ML's sister decided to something as payback. ML's sister was drunk one rainy afternoon and decided to run over the FL. But here's the twist that our FL remembers much later on, recall that our FL is extremely unhappy with her life. FL sees that ML's sister was only scaring her because the car swerves around her. FL intentionally runs towards the car. She was suicidal. She didn't want to live like that unhappy life anymore, but having practiced ballet for so long, it was all she had. Her adoptive mom died about 2 years earlier and wasn't that rich. ML comes to the scene seeing his distressed sister and the FL (who he only briefly met when she told him off for smoking in a non-smoking area) covered in a pool of blood. Seeing this, he immediately thinks that his sister is guilty and he takes FL away to China. Only the blood was found by the French police. Later, our FL will wake up briefly as she's taken away to a hospital, just to tell the doctor not to amputate her legs. Then, she'll wake up in the hospital without any memories. I'm assuming this is from too much blood loss and perhaps, her mind wanted to suppress the bad memories so she can start a new life. When she wakes up, the ML proclaims himself to her as her fiancee but is actually quite cold. He's polite and gives her housing, rehabilitation, schooling, etc. But she feels no warmth from him nor does her body recognize him (she tried it by kissing him lmao). ML wanted to protect his sister and pretend to be FL's fiancee so she wouldn't sue his sister, etc. But contrary to his expectations, our quirky FL weaves her way into his heart. I think the first time this really showed was around ch 10 (I might be wrong, it was around there somewhere) where the FL takes back a dirty stray cat and he orders her to throw it out immediately. When the cat runs away, FL chases after it, but the ML has already found it first and gave it a bath... even though he has severe cat allergies (his face gets bumpy). Or, when he found her trying to do ballet moves with her injured legs and she falls down, crying. He starts to soften up to her. I could tell the guilt was killing him so he sent her to university to study French. She could easily understand it because she's lived in France~ There's a bunch of fluff fluff scenes for the first half of the novel. Like the first time he proposed to her out in the middle of nowhere with the stars and he asked her poetically (something about the galaxy and stars... Sorry MTL sucks). The second half of the novel is when she falls head over heels for ML (mostly, dependency because he forged her new name and life) but finds out he's a fake. I like that she gives him a hard time. He totally deserved it. But, then again, she wanted to die initially so I'm not sure who to blame. All I can say is that everything gets resolved wonderfully, the rivalry between the sister and her, getting recognition from her old esteemed teacher after not practicing ballet for 2 years, turning down her fervent French pursuer and getting the man who lied to her but loves her wholeheartedly. I can see why people didn't like the male lead but understand that both parties weren't completely innocent. Actually past FL would've been happy he did that. Lol. They're human and they try to make up for it. Especially, the male lead. I felt like he became a lost pup that followed her around near the end and provided her with everything she needed as long as she agreed to keep him as luggage. I find that was too cute~ I especially loved his last proposal on the beach in Mexico. (It's ch 42 in case y'all want to MTL it). ML tells FL to meet him on the beach in the morning so they can talk about something important. Seeing the ML was not present at the given time, she starts to panic. She asks around for him and finds that he's gotten into an accident. The worst case scenario immediately enters her mind. She runs to the beach and is told by police officers that he was practicing how to propose to her (because she rejected him a few times before) and couldn't open the ring box because it was too tight so the ring box fell into the ocean and he chased after it, resulting in his drowning. The poor FL sees the pale ML clasping tightly onto the ring box. The police start to question her as to why she rejected him (lol). She cries out that she'll marry him if only he lives. Cue, the dead comes back to life music. The police officers start to dance (lmao, they were hired dancers by ML). As angry as our FL was in being tricked again, she couldn't just walk away because they were surrounded by the villagers who were dancing along too. She denies marrying him saying that her friends weren't present. Thinking ahead of time, ML had already invited all their friends via helicopter (they parachuted down lol). The FL and ML somehow changed into a wedding dress and suit in the middle of this chaos (I dunno how--maybe zip on?) and stand in front of a priest. ML double checks for the last time right before she can say "I do", if this is really what she wanted and she carefully thinks it through and says "I do". I know the ML was in the wrong but he was quite considerate to her compared to most mainstream MLs I've read. He didn't physically abuse her (always a plus in my book). He became devoted to her (no longer a playboy yay!). He said he'd use the rest of his life to make it up to her (awww). He used lots of money as charity for the place that housed her in Mexico and even opened up a dance studio in France when he clearly refused doing so for his much loved sister. He didn't side with his sister for very long when he started falling hard for our FL so he actually started to prioritize FL over his sis. I think the book should be given a chance in spite of this non-perfect ML. I'm actually surprised at the lack of headache I got from MTLing this on Google Translate. It was pretty much an easy read (understood about 90% of it).

But, from what I recall (p.s. I can't guarantee the accuracy cuz MTL and my faulty brain): ML = Male lead FL = Female lead or our beloved MC 1. How did the ML's sis react about her brother's affection to her rival (MC)? To put it bluntly, she threw a tantrum. It was ch. 18. This is the MTL (1st post in: 91baby.mama.cn/thread-1004612-3-1(dot)html ) where ML's sis finds out ML wants to truly marry FL: “You have been relying on me since childhood . I used to ask me to come back from France earlier. It’s no wonder that this year’s time is not mentioned. Hahahaha, ridiculous, I thought I had the most in the world. Good brother." Yin Wei’s voice sounded full of hate. "Brother, do you know how many years have I hated her? You know it! I was so painful in those years, so depressed, who is it?! She is simply It’s a demon. She used to take away what I wanted. Now even my brother doesn’t let go. Brother, how much I trust you when you take her away, I know that you are going to take my nightmare, You have to seal this demon forever, hahaha, I didn’t expect you to say that you really want to marry her!" The pronouns are messed up but essentially, ML's world used to revolve around ML's sis to the point where ML's sis is quite spoiled. ML's sis takes it as a betrayal that ML loves her worst enemy. At this time, the FL had rolled out of bed and ended up in a closet somehow (I can't remember why). She overheard the conversation between ML and ML's sis, who stayed at his house for a visit. Also, ML was truly head over heels for the FL at this point. He was panicking because he couldn't find her in her bedroom (lolol). 2. Also did ML's sis become more antagonistic to our MC? ML's sis has always been antagonistic to our MC and indeed, ML admitting his love to FL in front of his sister further escalated her anger. I think the only reason that ML's sis couldn't harm our MC was that they weren't physically in the same location after the accident because ML's sis was busy being the #1 ballerina in France and ML's sis didn't fully have the guts to kill her since she swerved at the last second (she's still human, yay). But if you want to know if ML's sis performed any other dirty tricks to our FL after ML kicks ML's sis out of his house then the only incident that comes to mind would be when they film the movie together. FL auditioned to co-star with ML's sis in a movie. ML's sis intentionally choose FL to play as her disabled sister (lol). FL and ML's sis battle it out through their ballet moves. As they try to prove who is better between them, the others simply see them perform a lovely, harmonious dance. Oh, there might have been a time where ML's sis tries to get ML to stop funding/supporting our FL's ballet career from behind-the-scenes but ML is like a freaking brick wall after he falls for the FL, he refuses to stop supporting his sister's ballet career instead. Or something like that... The FL didn't face any other anguish besides the truth of her identity and accident and the long recovery time to regain her legs. FL even tries to keep her ballet career as she's pregnant. She doubts if she can but the ML is supportive of her. 3. What is her ending? By "her", I'm assuming you're referring to the ML's little sis. After FL's accident (the one where the ML's sis was trying to run her over) was revealed to the public (my memory's faulty, it went something like this), ML's sis publicly announced that she'd retire from ballet as soon as she finished filming the movie with the FL. ML's sis was quite relieved at this point actually, as if a weight had finally been lifted off her shoulders. She doesn't spend any jail time or anything (if I recall properly) but the media went wild. She pretty much becomes a recluse. She stayed in her room in Paris and just ate whatever she wanted to the point that her body was no longer fit for ballet. When the FL finds the truth about her accident, FL reconciles with ML's sis. The two are friends again and ML's sis declares that she'll practice for ballet again. FL comments that ML's sis has her work cut out for her since ML's sis had gained a lot of weight (lol). The author doesn't mention ML's sis after that. I know that ML's sis didn't end up with that Parisian artist that really liked the FL. That Parisian artist actually tries to (slyly) win over the FL till the end but sadly, the FL never budges. I hope that cleared up some things. Lol. I'm writing this at 2 a.m. I hope it makes some sense.
