Has manga/anime distorted your sense of reality?

    Sometimes in the past while reading/watching something I thought "this is only fictional, right?" or "this is too stupid/rare to exist" but time and time again Japan has broken my weirdmeter. For example cats cafés (and now someone opened one in my country).

    And now when I see strange things (except superpowers and similar shit that can´t exist) in japanese media I doubt if they are real. For example I googled to find if this sport was real.

    At least is the series any good?

    Still I kinda have to agree... my surprise to unknown macabre/ridiculous stuff kinda decreased a lot!

    Anime and manga actually open my eyes to reality....
    that's why I avert it by drowning my self in more anime and manga.

    Have you ever seen any of the Japanese reality game type TV shows? If not, then you wouldn't even be talking about weird or anything superpower cafe's... Etc.

    Did you ever read Chihayafuru? Its about some japanese "sport"/cultural competition called Karuta...
    Its surprisingly quite good, tbh! (The series not the sport!)

    Wouldn't that mean that manga/anime have increased the scope of reality? not distorted since all things are real?
    If it was distorting shouldn't it be more like something you read in manga/anime and thought it was true, but wasn't?

    I had ggogled to check if the sport Keijo is real as well lol.

    I don't think my sense of reality is broken. We've had plenty of weird things in real life after all, such as degrees in pornography and Harry Potter.

    It is better than expected. At first I thought It would be only fanservice but it´s a quite good sport manga. Of course the (butt/breasts) battle techniques are very ridiculous.

    Manga/Anime broke my feelings before weirdness. I think the first Anime 'style' production I watched was spirited away, I was 7 or 8 at the time and MAH GAWD... the feeeeeeeeeelssssss! No Face! sob, sob, sob...

    I've just read in the news that japan celebrated penis festival today... it is mind-warping and reality-bending... so i guess some of those that are mentioned in mangas are real...

    Not at all thanks to the light novels, manga, anime, and video games my senses have been enhanced, I'm aware of people's feelings, and I have the ability of memorizing, analyzing, and copying at my fingertips. it also helped me discover my creative side.:D

    Make a poll.

    There was this manga/interview that showed that there is an impact on the human mind. Exposure to too many kinds of fictions can make you lose your 'common sense' but, that depends of the person.

    yeah..after reading deathnote i write down my enemies,after that i read MGA and ATG than boom boom boom! I kill them all rven their chicken and dogs,later that night a police ask me why? my answer was because yhey dont give me a face!

    nope never distorted my sense of reality, except it can help me to realize what is true common sense like what is good or bad
