Hello fellow readers ! Spoiler I am sure everyone has some kind of novels that they really really really hate ! There are many reasons to hate something....the MC is a p*ssy or the MC is a psychopath that kills people with no reason..... the story is too slow or the story is too fast... the story is fantasy or the story is sci-fi..... and i can continue.... One of the novels that i for some reason hate or better said dont like are xianxia novels.... AND I DONT NOW WHY !!!!!!! i love fantasy mostly because there is a magic system in many fantasy novels and i like systems... i just like when something has its place and theres order.... and what better order can you get than a cultivation system ? but after everything of that.... i still dont like them..... BUT and now comes the legendary but.... i really enjoy stories like Beginning after the end..... and thats a novel that has a xianxia theme.... AND then it hit me ! The reason i dont like xianxia novels is because they have thousands of chapters ! That up here is a little rant only read it if you want.... the point is down here.... So i have a request does any xianxia fan out here know of a xianxia story that has a nice rank progression (i dont want the MC to skip everything ) but at the same time is really fast paced ? (i want it to have a progression but i dont want it to be like every rank theres 10 under ranks there are like 20 ranks and for every under rank the MC will need idk 100 chapters ? ) In other word a short fast paced xianxia novel that has a good system behind it.... sry its really late where i am so i am going to sleep when theres any recommendations will check them tomorrow (in 10 hours) ..... thanks in advance for the answers !
would be nice if there were novels like that out there... sadly i personally never read one like that.
mmm... progressivness depends on perspective tho for example I found ISSTH quite progressive because in every chapter stuff actually happens (Im looking at you Legend of the Cultivation God).
It's because mist xianxia take multiple chapters just to move the ploy an inch that most people get annoyed
Lol xianxia novels always takes waaayyyyy to long to get one sub rank lol even though the can kill someone god tier while theu nooby. Go look at RRL for some novels with fast progressions
I dont know any xianxia's but you could try Martial God space the cultivation is very very fast, basically the MC flies through the ranks but I personally dont like it since its super cliche with the usual "courting death" etc.
There are exceptions. Take ISSTH. It's first few cultivation ranks take a while and then more recently he has gone through multiple realms successively in a fairly short time. Then on the opposite end of the spectrum there's Coiling Dragon where the MC progress quickly at first only to do the last few stages for like half the series. I'd still advise reads like ISSTH as it's got story between levels and each level is cleverly thought out. Also Doulou Dalu has a nice story between levels. I'd also recommend danmachi,it has literal levels and it progresses quickly but there are very few chapters out due to yen press licensing.
i did say i dont want too long novels and i did read Coiling Dragon..... it was good and really interesting at the beginning but later i felt like the same thing happened again and again and i really didnt want to read the last 30 chapters.....
I think you'll miss less good story if you can adopt a plan B ! just skip part of the story ! even if you skip something important it's 90% sure that they'll talk about it later !! I hated ISSTH at first, the beginning is soooo sooooo slow and uninteresting (reading about eating pill day after day...); at some point I stopped and then cause I was bored, I skipped some part or only read part of chapter and then I was really happy cause later it's really good ! After that, I searched for Chinese novel that got a lot of chapter translated (more then 300) and now I can read them ! it's not only that they are slow but everything is sooooo detailed with stuff that you really don't need to know; if I don't skip part, I'll end up beating something lol
