I mean having my online accounts hacked and getting virus on my PC has happened, but I've never had any ransomware or the sort though and that's despite the fact that I restored my win 7 back to 2009/20010 and never used windows update on it again.
My club penguin account was hacked. Well not mine but someone else had given me theirs, they had a membership so they could get all the good items. Its been over 10 years but
I used to play WOW for a bit and paid some CN farmer to 'powerlevel' my character, they guaranteed 'no botting' as a policy, turns out that was obviously a lie and i ended up getting the payment on paypal refunded. Afterwards, my account got hacked and cleared out completely at least three times in a row. Assuming they 'got even'.
More like did you believe you never been hacked? Hacked dont mean only at corrupt the data but also mean been tracing. Dont want to say but unfortunately our device, network, and many other thing been monitor by government. Of course their never say that you network been hack.
Not that I know of. You can't say you've been hacked if you yourself weren't aware of being hacked or the hackers were not polite enough to blackmail let you know.
Malwarebytes seems to be a good app to run scans every once in a while on your PC. My more genre-savvy friend said that I shouldn't need anything more than this and windows defender as long as I didn't enter CP pages or smthg. As for the goverment accessing my data, that was a given. Normal people shoudn't need to care about that if they aren't into CP or smthing either. Lol. Good old days of the internet. It sounds more of an scam rather than anything tho.
I had one of my online game accounts hacked, but it was after I had stopped playing the game, so I didn't really care. I only learned about it recently when I tried to access the game for a bit of nostalgia and found that the account had been banned a few years ago for macroing.
Parents have been hit multiple times because of random stuff they download. The worst I've had to remove was 2 badly made ransomware/encryption setups. Actually considering I removed them both the same way, might have been the same program used just 2 years between. It encrypted things while leaving jpg/txt/html files in the encrypted directories stating what to do to remove it. However their program didn't wipe out Windows 7 settings that created a backup of each file multiple times. (Shadow copy I think? been awhile) So I just unplugged the system from the network, removed the initial infection, then used a search program to go into every folder that had the mentioned jpg/txt/html files and restored former copies of the encrypted files.
I got some stuff from sketchy downloads on my pc once so i did several full virus scans and factory reset eventually ............................ i was a dumb kid back then... only thing i lost was time wasted to reset and download games again...
my WoW account used to hacked all the time until i got the WoW keychain. now the only thing they want to hack is my Facebook account. there's no money or items to steal and resell, so why? i just leave my PC on and my FB active.problem solved.
i ended to accidentaly hack(tracing) a pc from school before realizing it's my pc at home,my little bro was using it without asking for playing.....
If forgetting to log out your social media account when you took a piss and your friends decided to post something then yes. Fuxking friends replaced my profile picture with a naked woman covering her crotch with a ladle and chatting sum of my classmates asking them about sex and other things like i like them. Posting im gay.
About 6 Wednesdays ago, my Chase debit card got hacked but I got a new one in the mail within 5 business days after calling Chase. So, that was like the weekend over a week later (that would be my guess).

Data mining and phishing for the most part. I got them somewhere during my trade adventures. Luckily i never fell for any of them and neither they ever get anywhere close to anything related to my bank account.
My 500gb hard disk got so bad that I can't open it or former it or do anything on it idk if that was jacked and got a virus but it became useless and even though it works it doesn't do anything and simply sya the hard disk works but I won't let you use it
