Synopsis:
A scout in the infamous Demon Cult, Seolhwi is on a routine patrol when his squad unexpectedly encounters a fearsome master of the Mount Hua Sect, the sworn enemies of the Demon Cult. Without warning, the Mount Hua Cult master slaughters the entire squad. As Seolhwi lies dying, lamenting years of service to the cult with nothing to show for it, he is suddenly faced with a video game prompt, asking if he would like to start again. Given the opportunity to start over and make different choices, Seolhwi vows to survive and become stronger so he can rise to the top of the Demon Cult.

Seol-Hwi will fight against the Heavenly Demon's First Disciple, and win.
Seol-Hwi is still working with/under the Fourth Disciple, the Earth Demon.

 

Does anyone know what's going on with the AI?

 

Basically, from what I understand of the chapter 175 MTL, the AI explains that he was someone just like Seol-Hwi, a "player" chosen by the system. The system has chosen many, many other "players" just like Seol-Hwi and the AI (50 million?). But only the AI and one other person have reached the end of the "game" of the system. Every other player has never succeeded and died before they reached the end. At the end, they have to make some kind of choice. The AI explains that it could be anything, but when he reached the end, he chose to become an AI. Every single player starts in different circumstances. The AI, when he was a player, started similar to Seol-Hwi under the Earth Demon, in the Hidden Truth Corps. But Seol-Hwi is unique because he started at the very bottom, with no status unlike other players.

Well, not sure about friends, but the AI definitely respects Seol-Hwi since he started at the very bottom, but somehow managed to become stronger so quickly on his own. Also, because Seol-Hwi doesn't abandon his comrades. So yeah, the general vibe I get from the AI is maybe like, "your best friend who insults you but still cares about and wants you to succeed", lol.

Seol-Hwi is thinking about the past, after he became a secret warrior, and the Earth Demon had him and his team kill the Supreme Pavilion Lord and Wu Tian Pavilion Lord, and then he got involved with Goo Jongmyung who was there unexpectedly. Anyway, now that Seol-Hwi changed the future and left the Demonic Sect early and never became a secret warrior, the Earth Demon can't carry out his plan yet to steal power/the Elders' support from the Third Disciple, by killing the people under the End Demon.

 

Hm, I don't know who asked if Cheon Miryo (the martial artist who uses ice techniques, and who Seol-Hwi falsely claims he's the disciple of to gain the Earth Demon's trust) shows up in the novel, but yes, she actually does show up in the novel.

It's a later chapter in the novel, it's not on the MTL Google Doc yet.

No schedule, sorry. Just whenever I can get my hands on the raws and MTL them. If you have time, why not re-read the English translation by Sky Demon Order? It will help to make things make more sense, since the MTL has a bunch of confusing names/terms/etc.

At least because they're translating the novel, it'll be more popular and more people can read it. If no group was translating it, the novel wouldn't be as popular.

And no I can't send the raws. Like I said, I can only post them when they're available to me. I just share the MTL because I like this novel and want more people to read it. It costs money to buy the raws, so you have to buy the raw chapters and then MTL them.

As before, Seolhwi recruits Songhwa, escapes to Hangzhou, restores the Jong family, and robs Jamryongjae (Submerged Dragon Store, the local evil sect). Then with his copy of Wudang's arts, SeolHwi goes into secluded training and breaks through to Extreme Demon. However, he spent an entire year instead of the month originally intended and in the meantime, Salma (first disciple) killed Ahryeong (third disciple) and has started to invade the central plains; Gonma and Mahu (second disciple) are forced into an alliance. Seolhwi, Immugi, and Songhua then move to Hainan island. They are then contacted by Yorim, who informs them Gonma fought Salma, but both perished in the fight along with all of SeolHwi's other subordinates. He then backstabs Seolhwi, having been brainwashed by Mahu (second disciple) who was playing the long game.

Chapter 205-214 spoilers

As before, Seolhwi recruits Songhua, escapes to Hangzhou, restores the Jong family, and robs Jamryongjae. After the first letter from his subordinates, SeolHwi writes a letter to Gonma about the impending civil war and requests to meet, but is informed by Songhwa that he has less than two years to live. He then goes into seclusion and reaches Extreme Demon much faster than before, in three months. Gonma meets him and afterwards, when going to confront Salma, is ambushed by Mahu. Both perish in the ensuing fight. SeolHwi then summons his subordinates and they all flee to Hainan and settle down: Yongjin makes carvings, Jeoksong opens a restaurant, Immugi sells alchohol, Songhwa continues fortune telling and Yorim becomes a carpenter. Seolhwi and Seoryong continue to cultivate and flirt. However, true to Songhwa's prophecy, Salma eventually tracks them down and eliminates them as he does not want a potential successor of Gonma, since
Seolhwi knows the Four Great Demonic Arts (Wind). Seolhwi copies the Four Great Demonic Arts (Fire) during the fight with Salma and dies in a suicide attack. He also finally gains the three (love) lives from Seoryong.

He then escapes to Hangzhou, restores the Jong family, and robs Jamryongjae, goes into seclusion and reaches Extreme Demon much faster than before, in just a week. He even manages to reacquire the Supreme Wind Sword technique despite not retrieving the sword, so he abandons his previous equipment. He writes the letter to, and meets Gonma, who dies fighting Mahu as before. SeolHwi then summons his subordinates but this time, he tells them to scatter and settle down. He then goes to the Yungui Highlands and trains while waiting for Salma to find him. While toying around with Simulation, he discovers several important things: The secret map and key from the missions when he was under Gonma can be used to get the Absolute Ultimate Demonic Art (the Heavenly Demon's art that is unlocked by mastering the Four Great Demonic Arts), but the last missing piece of the map can only be obtained by choosing the highest difficulty of the three lives (core, escort, secret). He also learns that the AI's name is Sa Yugang and is an absolute badass: He killed over 100k people, regressed 5000+ times, completed 180 missions, mastered over 1000 martial arts, and is Transcendent Demon level (Rank 2 in the Cult) Finally, he learns about the pseudo-player that is the Heavenly Demon (to be) and whose role in the System is to eradicate players. When Salma finally comes, Seolhwi lures him and his men (including Yupae) into an underground cave system, and unleashes a barrage of attacks that overpowers them. While waiting for the Heavenly Demon, Seolhwi realises that he has been going about things wrong, and that Gonma may be the key to defeating him. When they finally fight, Seolhwi is curbstomped, but he has 15 additional lives from killing Yupae.

Chapter 221-229 spoilers

This time Seolhwi chooses his first save file, the one from Chapter 11. He decides to become Gonma's Secret Warrior and is sent to Hoewol-Dong (returning moon cave) for three months of survival training. He is determined not to rely on the System where possible and even refuses the standard equipment/pills offered to him. In the cave he does not use his previous martial arts, learning how to fight from scratch. He clears the cave after defeating a mutant with telekinesis, one of the three 'talents of the century' (the other being Gonma's Heavenly Killing Star, and the Heavenly Martial Body which can learn and use arts very quickly and strongly). Afterwards, he is brought to a room full of books that Gonma wrote and is given three months to learn all of them, with a test at the end. Due to the System's ability granting him a photographic memory, Seolhwi easily passes. Finally, Gonma asks him to recruit a person, and he would be inducted as a Secret Warrior if successful. He is given several choices and rewards, including:

Songhwa for 1 life (poor boy!),
Immugi for 3 lives,
Wang Moryeog for 10 lives (the elder he killed to gain lives before leaving for Hangzhou), and...

Cheon Miryo for 100 lives. Guess which one Seolhwi picks.

Gonma gives him information on her last known whereabouts and he sets off... Only instead he finds two people, a young girl and middle-aged man, arguing over which martial arts is better, Blood Arts or Ice Arts. The girl is Cho Ahran, the Cold-Blooded Witch, while the man is Ag Bi, the Icy Moon Heart Demon. Both are recluses of the Extreme Demon level. They mistake Seolhwi for a Justice Sect member as his moves are Taichi-based, but he defuses the situation first by treating them to some of the Shaoxing Divine Wine (The original award from the Jong family in Chapter 191), then uses the Supreme Wind God and proclaims himself as a disciple of Cheon Miryo sent to settle their dispute. They decide to jointly take him as a disciple and settle the feud by seeing who is the better teacher. Seolhwi is glad as he has wanted formal guidance for a long time.
