Welcome to the forum
Just want to say high (and get my posting count up so that I can make a thread with a question). Just a parrot going through while clacking at the keyboard with his talons.
*pat pat* @Welcome to NUF ~
Oh... I wasn't able to see the initial post, so here's my official introduction:
Hobbies/Interest: Cooking, birbs (obviously), instrument playing, and the like
Common Reads: Probably Isekai stuff
Favorite Novel: Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (First novel I saw on this sight after coming from Tapas!)
I joined because I have a project in mind, but we'll have to see if I have permission to do it on this site! xD
Ah, probably not. The project is more of an improvement of a isekai novel I read recently (from bad translations to better, and tying up plot holes/bad character development).
poaching of a currently being translated novel aren't condoned here though
Well if you're a gonna make a fanfiction for it, you couldn't post it on NU since 'twill fall under the category of Original Novel
Ah, thanks for the heads up. I'll probably be cancelling, start a new project, or post elsewhere then (Wasn't considering fanfiction). Do you have any general recommendations?
If it's a original novel
if you'll be translating novels then you could create your own wordpress account or perhaps join some translation group
Hello Welcome to the forum
You may call me Rei or Ren. I'm basically afk four out seven days of the week due to my irl job. But when I am online, you can find me silently lurking in many a places including but not exclusively: the fantastical webnovel realms, the manga pits, the many alternative fanfiction universes, etc. etc.
I have a very wide verse of tastes when it comes to webnovel, light novels, reading in general- as long as it has some elements that interest me. I do go through phases however; my most recent craving would be that of the BL world hopping genre. Alas I've caught up on most of the ones here.
I hold preference for rational, determined main characters. You can only read so many weak beta men with needless harems before they start wearing on the nerves unfortunately.
My favorite anime are Gintama and One Piece. It's a bit difficult for me to single out a favorite manga; the same applies to web novels.
What I'm currently reading/ rereading/ watching (as in- what I currently have tabbed on my phone):
Novel- Doomed to be Cannon Fodder
Manga- Keishichou Tokuhanka 007, Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai, Kumo desu ga, nani ka?, Maou-jou de Oyasumi
Anime- Yuri!! On Ice!
About me: I still play Wizard 101. I ramble. I'm bad at socializing. I'm good at amusing myself. I sometimes write. I read a lot. I have a pack of dum dums lollipops to the right of my desk and a can of starbucks vanilla coffee to my left. On my days off I sleep ten to thirteen hours. I want to lose thirty pounds by the summer, but I think that's probably a hopeless goal.
Thank you and good night (morning).
Hello NU, my name/nickname is Galgano. I enjoy reading, playing games, and watching movies and shows. Mainly though, I like to read. I started with books, moved to webcomics, then manga and other comics. Fanfiction was interspersed in there somewhere, but I eventually gave up on that because all the stories I read couldn't really make the characters feel believable. Plus the story plots were awful. In other words, they were...well....fanfiction. Anyway, after that I got into reading light novels. I can't remember which one was my first, but I think it was probably either Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or Spice & Wolf. Oh, you know what? I guess 'that' was technically a light novel too, huh. So, remember how I said I play games? Well, a long time ago I played the .hack series of games for Playstation 2. The first set, not the later ones. You played as Kite throughout the whole thing. Everything was from his perspective. Well, after I played through them, I had read a light novel series that followed Blackrose's perspective (your first party member you meet in the series) throughout the events of all 4 games. I didn't realize it back then, but I guess it would be considered a light novel. I mean, it had those sparse pictures scattered throughout the books and everything. I don't remember which book series I read first, but looking back on it, that's definitely a contender. Relatively recently, though, I've gotten into reading web novels. I was on the hunt for some new light novel recommendations that I could easily read on my phone while I was bored. I found a web novel site and started reading things that looked fun.
The genres/tags I often look for are...let's see...off the top of my head, there's wuxia, reincarnation, isekai, rpg, generic fantasy, and....that's it. Those are the ones I mostly look for.
Let's see....favorite novel. I would have to say...well no, hang on. So, I was gonna say Legendary Moonlight Sculptor because it was my first. But then I remembered that I also read Tales of Demons and Gods. Which I had read because I was waiting for....so let's back up. Before I started reading web novels, I was reading manga. I was browsing through manga and I saw (I'm gonna horribly butcher this) Dololuouloululuouluuou Laluuolluoulaulua. Er...the Tang Sect one (how many of these are there now? I've seen so many different novels for the Tang Sect, I've lost track of what order they're supposed to be in) where the guy commits suicide by jumping off a cliff or blowing himself up or blowing himself up while jumping off a cliff then gets reincarnated in a new world as a kid who goes on to become Spiderman. I read it and enjoyed it. So, I decided to look for similar manga/manhwa. I then found Tales of Demons and Gods, read a bit of that. The manga wasn't that far and I found out that it had a novel version. I got excited, because manga that are made based on a novel are usually pretty far behind, so if I read the novel I wouldn't have to wait for more content. I found the TDG novel, read through it until I got caught up, then since I was on a novel website of some kind, I looked for other novels. I then found Legendary Moonlight Sculptor and greatly enjoyed that. I think I got to volume 47 or so before...no, I didn't get that far the first time. I didn't even breach volume 20 the first time I started reading. I went in search of other novels later on. Eventually, I got back around to getting close to the current (at the time) update before looking for more novels. I think I found TDG on wuxiaworld, so I went through their catalog. Upgrade Specialist in Another World (USAW), that one author that everyone complains is terrible because all the MCs are bland pretty boys that every female wants but nothing ever happens just endless teasing. He had written that one where the main character had a huge amount of body mass (read: fat) but incredibly buff because he was training with his dad. A dad who was the only human from earth that could enter a dungeon. The main character was eventually became able to enter the dungeon as well. Apparently that same author had also written the story of the guy who became cursed to be a monster in a world where everyone hates and kills monsters (which completely gets invalidated later when he can transform into a human form for 20+ hours per day). Let's see...I read...argh, I hate not remembering the names of all these novels. I'm only writing this thing so I can get access to the "Looking for..." forum so I can ask about a bunch of novels that I had read, but lost contact with. My friend and I were recommending a bunch of stuff to each other, but that's hard to do when the only thing you can do is describe them. Anyway, another novel I read was the one where the main character gets a cube that harvests souls embedded into his body. Then he starts absorbing souls and gets their memories. Then he uses those memories to cultivate like a mad man and eventually become truly immortal. I read that he gets like four wives or something like that throughout the course of the novel. But every so often I just have to take a break from wuxia novels because of how infuriating they can get. Like this one where the main character basically made himself retarded because it was supposed to be an incredibly good way to cultivate. The only problem is that, like I had said, he had to put himself in a mentally retarded state. Anyway, the novel goes from arc to arc to arc. And at the end of each arc, the main character seems to get the short end of the stick. Like, he gets chased out from every organization he joins or the group he's a part of crumbles all around him. Anyway, I had fallen asleep while trying to write this and it's already been past 24 hours since I created the account, so I no longer need to write this. But, I've already gotten to the end of the stuff I'm supposed to put in this, so it's all good anyway. I might as well just submit the post.
what if you are not a newbie though?
Then you welcome others? *tilts head*
