Hi, thanks in advance for the help. I was wondering if it's okay for the title of a story to not have an explaination til a long way further down the line in the story while also sounding spoiler-ish. it's called Through the Eyes of a Warmonger but the I can't give the reader a explaination of why it's called that without ruining the order of the story. The reader will be wondering why he's a warmonger and I don't know if that nono. I feel the title fits the story well but I could come up with another title.
No prob. Heck, a certain novel doesn't even tell the readers the mc's full name until the "final" chapter.
I think this title gives a good basis of the Mc. I’d assume he was a warmonger in the past or will be in the future. Who knows.
Pure Love x Insult Complex. It's an r-18 novel btw tho the plot is amazing. The "after story" is said to be better than the main plot but who knows. Still waiting for more chapters to be translated.
well just looking at the name "Through the Eyes of a Warmonger" im guessing its the journey of becoming a warmonger or following a character that's already a warmonger. it doesn't need an explanation after all its your story and your the one who decides for it. but if my guesses were correct you could use one of them as a simple explanation. "The journey of becoming a warmonger" or "Following the footsteps of a warmonger".
It's fine for the reasoning behind the title to not be apparent even up until the very end of the novel. As long as it does make sense in the end, mind you. It's no good if the title is totally irrelevant after everything.
Okay thanks guys, what I'm getting is it's okay as long as it makes since eventaully. The reader knows this fact about the character and expects it to come up at some point. I just didn't want to make a title that was too taboo. I'll probably post it in the community fiction section once I get like 3 chapters in. I just want to be able to release them slowly so I can correct any mistakes I find while re-reading them. I'm got some free time thanks to new years so I hope to get a lot of writing done.
Interesting title will add bonus point to attract the reader and so does the synopsis. But as long the story is interesting, the title won't matter much.
hey, just as long as you don't get into the habit of using a whole paragraph as your title it's all good
Well I think you write something about the novel than add " if you want to know why it is called warmonger than you will find out soon " Totally suspicious and cool
I think it's fine to title your story something that won’t be explained until later. Many bestselling novels by famous authors do it too. It'll set up a sense of curiosity before the book even begins. My only advice would be to make sure the title is actually explained by the end to not leave readers in complete confusion.
