Does anybody know what the chinese clothing in Wuxia/Xianxia novels are called? Can somebody please help me know which is which, like what do you call the inner robe or the outer robe, the sash thing that seems like a belt, what's the difference with those high collared robes etc.? If anybody can tell me even just the name of each piece for the whole clothing set for male and female. Thank you!

yes, like the hanfu it's just I can't distinguish/know what part of the full set is which article. I've been researching for three days but can't find a definite answer aside that it generally falls under hanfu.

Just google chinese robes and you'll find what you want.
Also i highly recommend you just imagine the robes as whatever the fuck you want otherwise your brain will start to hurt if you try to imagine everything accurately.
Hell i even imagine the characters that are described as meh or ugly as sex symbols simply because having an imagine of ugly people in my head ain't fun.

Did something happen with gravity tales? I can understand you hating qidan as we all do but i don't see why you'd block gravy as well. Or do you just simply not like any of their novels and don't want them showing up on your main page? Yea that'd make the most sense.

I did consider that as the last option once I've given up but I would still like to try and find an answer. Wish me luck. :)

Oh, that's helpful, thank you. Now, I know the scholarly attire.

Answer to your second paragraph: Gravity is now owned by QI so we might as well treat them equally.

@Shio is nice and gave out reminders, I would have just delete them.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you need to know them? Please satisfy this oba-sama's curiosity.

I need them for a (semi)detailed report on the attire used by chinese way back. It just so happen that I also read CN novels for quite a while and realized that I don't even know how they are called despite knowing what they commonly look like. I can't find anything on google so I resorted in posting a thread. I even considered skimming into CN novels just to find out how the author described the clothes.

Dont go saying your resources is this forum, or you won't get taken seriously (probably lol). The only piece I remember 'till today is buyao, and that's not even a clothing but an accessory. Side effect from reading TBVW :X3:

hahaha...don't worry I won't. Well, they wouldn't even know anyway ;). I could just use a random chinese article/link about chinese clothing and they wouldn't even know the difference whether it's legit or not.
