Im confused, that article sounds like a nightmare where you get disallowed normal everyday things due to despotism.

How's america worse than that? The government cant ban the use of everyday things due to imaginary score numbers.

What we're saying is that there are many people that hide behind the curtain and direct the path of the masses from the shadows. Sure it's not as bad as China, but there is censorship in abundance.

It's said that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I say we're doomed regardless. Even if you recognize what's going on, you usually can't stop others from reliving past mistakes anyway. The SJW movement reminds me alarmingly of the red scare combined with a little WW2 era Jewish hate. Its not exact, but what is?

 

As for the original topic, it's not really that surprising. It was just a couple months ago they trashed all BL and some other forms of "degenerative" fictions after an author wrote in a political figure into their novel. So really this is just an extension to trash any resistance and catch a few more genres they find problematic. .

 

Chinese censorship is always about controlling what the masses consume intellectually.

I'm not even mad about that, as an American I support freedom of speech but also realize how much freedom of speech contributes to massive amounts of misinformation being consumed daily by a completely undereducated population... Though China takes it to the extreme it does help indoctrinate and brainwash the masses, while the United States doesn't do enough to control what kinds of brainwashing is used so the public is completely divided into different brainwashed camps all believing they are right...

 

maybe we'll see more writers sentenced to jail for ten years for daring to write "immoral pornography." though really, is there such a thing as morally correct pornography?

 

I'm still waiting for the day when news outlets finally announced that there will be live-cams installed within private areas in all facilities, houses, and outdoors.

 

this system is a sure tiket to a rebellion and high crime rates....especialy if you consider the 1.4 bilion of population china have.....
except if all chinese are masochists....

 

Somehow those lines sounds like the lines of one of those young masters from novels, which makes my theory about cultivators being alive in china but well hidden a little bit more true
