Hundreds of years in this fantasy world - there's at least some threadbare justification for why he's #1 at the game. He's a dedicated sperglord. Unlike Kirito who is just too edgy and cool and everyone else has flippers for hands and mashed potatoes for brains. When you die in a roguelike your name appears with your score alongside your cause of death. Bare minimum. Class, level, alignment, gender, race, religious affiliation, location etc are other potential records displayed on an epithet. This is common knowledge man. Can't have a score based permadeath RPG without the freaking cause of death blurb on it. Isn't this not the most basic of basic things? Am I in Crazytown or something? YASD is half the freaking fun of the genre. The anger, the shame, the condolences, the mockery... to want to take that away.. it's like asking "why even breathe?" Charisma isn't just physical appearance. He starts with a perfectly normal stat line for a peasant with zero retainers and little education. You rich merchant kids from the city probably never had to shovel cow shit a single day in your entire lives, have ya. Let me tell you about it. The cows. They shit a lot. Like... EVERY SINGLE DAY. Nonstop. With the cow shit. You got a bunch of free time to learn literacy, how to cast Magic Missile, how to use your magic bullshit completely unfair moon sword techniques, and how to talk rubes into dying for you? That's great. We're just over here trying to avoid being drowned in shit. It's a full time occupation. You might think I'm joking. Then you have no conception of what the human to cow ratio is on even a moderately functional farm is. Everyone makes fun of Cowshit Man. But to me, he's the true hero. I find this an odd life choice. Had I the money or means I myself would hire translators or if rich enough hire people to create a device to inject knowledge into the brain matrix style and learn to read light novel of several countries. I'm sure you have your reasons. Im not too interesting in editing or whatever at the moment but if it is like google docs and stuff I could go check in now and again and rewrite/fix a word or phrase here and there for better spelling or delivery of context
