I was planning to translate this novel since like two months ago and I’ve been wanting to ask the author for permission but haven’t gotten to it yet since I’ve been pretty busy! I want to translate it but I don’t want to without the author’s permission Anyways, I’ve read this novel up to season 2, and I believe the author has not started season 3 yet. So I’ll spoil what happens! Spoiler: MC: Past Life Ok so to begin with, the MC of this novel was reincarnated into this world. In the world before, she was a girl who was like a prodigy. She was super duper smart and praised by everyone, but she honestly had nothing she found fun in life because nothing interested her. However one day she was watching a movie with her parents which took place in the late centuries of Europe. The movie was about a young lady and her lover I believe, and the girl found something that interested her for the first time. Instead of being interested in the young lady, she was interested in the maid and she was amazed how the maid was able to do everything to make the young lady stand out, and after seeing this movie, she wanted to become a maid. The girl was named Zuiha Ritsuko in her past life. Ritsuko studied very very hard to become a maid. Since she was naturally smart, she would study a lot about maids and would practice being a maid at her own home. She would serve her own mother and father as a maid as a practice since she was young. When she became older, she started working in a realistic maid cafe, which is a not those cutesy maid cafes, it’s a professional maid cafe where customers have to act like a lady and a gentlemen, and the maids working has to act like a professional maid of late Europe. Since Ritsuko is a maid nerd and loves being a maid and it’s her dream, she is the best selling maid in the cafe. She makes good money since the cafe is a professional cafe. She takes a LOT of courses in college that honestly maids don’t really need like architecture, medicine, surgery, etc. a LOT of courses. So she has a lot of knowledge. Her dream is to go to England to study more about becoming a maid. She actually boards a plane to go to England fo fulfill her dreams, and the plane crashes and she dies. She then is reborn as Celesty McMaden. Spoiler: MC: New Life MC is reborn in a village and she lives with her mother. Her new name is Celesty McMaden. She’s a very bright child that is loved by everyone and all the boys in her village has a crush on her. She has silver hair and lapis blue eyes. Her mother, Selena, has brown hair and lapis blue eyes. Celesty remembers her past memories when she is 6 years old. She remembers her last memory after seeing a maid. When she asks her mom who the “pretty lady” is, and her mother answers that she is a maid, she remembers that she has always wanted to be a maid. She practices very hard to become a maid in secret, and also helps out her mother and her village people. Selena could use one type of magic spell, which was a spell named luche, which is a spell to create fire. She would use this spell every day to light up a candle. Magic exists in this world and almost everyone can use it. Celesty has a magic ability and she has quite a lot of magic, but after being checked, it was noticed that there was something that needed to be fufilled for her to use this magic. Celesty was very very happy after seeing the maid, and her mother notices this. Celesty was planning to keep her wish to become a maid a secret until she is older and gets a job as a maid and can surprise her mom. Selena dies when Celesty is 14. She tells Celeste that she has a letter in the chest. Celesty is extremely heartbroken by her mother passing away. She was sad but continued to help out the village and would take on jobs of sewing to make money for her own living. 6 months after Selena’s death, Celesty sees a mail man and remembers her mother’s last words. She can’t believe she forgot about her mother’s letter and goes into her mom’s room. She has not entered this room for 6 months. She opens the letter and her mother reveals that she is a daughter of a count. Selena gives Celesty 2 options in her letter. One is to go to her father and become an aristocrat. The other option was to run away and become a maid. She would have to run away because aristocrat ladies cannot become a maid, and Selena heard that Celesty’s father was looking for her in a rumor. Selena knew Celesty wanted to become a maid. When Celesty reads the letter, she cries and hugs the letter and says, “mother, I will become a maid! It’s not that I don’t have interest in my father, but I want to become a maid! It was my dream since my last life! Mother, I will become the world’s most wonderful maid!!” after she says this a voice suddenly says “… a wish for yourself and for someone else. Everything is now set. A silver blessing to the holy maiden.” Celesty unlocks her magic here and she has amazing magic abilities that is about 100 times greater than a magician and she could take over the world with this magic if she wants to. Her magic aura is huge but she can hide it super quickly and make it seem like she has no magic, which is not something anyone can do. She decides to use this magic ability to become the “world’s best maid”. She uses her magic to make her eyes and hair appear black in other people’s eyes by using a special light magic, and changes her name to Melody Wave. Spoiler: Answering the Questions 1&2 1.) There is possibly no romance in this with the main character, which is Ritsuko/Celesty/Melody. I’ll just call her Melody since that’s the name she goes by most of the time but Melody is extremely uninterested in romance. She is too much of a maid nerd and doesn’t seem to be interested in any romantic relationship. But she did find this guy named Lectias Flord, pretty handsome she she bumps into him. She also finds the crown prince very handsome when she bumps into him as well though. Lectias works for her father (which melody doesn’t know) and Lectias has a huge crush on Melody. Besides that scene where she thinks he’s handsome, she doesn’t really seem to be that much interested in him. He knows that she is the daughter of Count Leginbars which is Celesty’s dad. As for the crown prince, he’s handsome but the reincarnation inside of him is like. Lol. Has a very problematic hilarious personality so I don’t find him falling in love any time soon at all. 2.) There honestly is no lovey dovey scenes but if there is a male lead for the mc, it’s probably Lectias. The problem is Celesty is 14 and Lectias is 21 so it would be straight up pedophilia if they end up together. Lectias is heads over heels for Melody and Melody doesn’t really care for Lectias. She cares more about the all works maid that works for him named Paula, and she is very good friends with Paula. One scene that happens is where Paula invites Melody over because she ruins her clothing (it’s the first time she meets her) and Lectias comes home earlier than Paula thought and enters the bathroom while Melody is taking a bath, and he sees her naked and she deletes his memory of this happening with magic. She explains to Paula and Paula goes along with Melody and pretends nothing happened. As for like actual possible romantic ships, Melody works for Luciana Ludenburg, and Luciana is extremely beautiful and Christopher Fon Teolas (the crown prince) and Maxwell Leclentis (son of a marquess) likes her. Luciana seems to like Maxwell and Maxwell likes Luciana. However Luciana likes melody more!! She likes melody so much that Maxwell is kind of jealous of Melody because he wants to make moves on Luciana but she seems to care about Melody more. Maxwell liked Melody at the beginning btw, but after offering to be an escort for Luciana at the ball he falls for her. When he liked Melody he also tried to make moves on her and hint his affection but Melody was clueless and now Luciana is also more interested in Melody and he questions his charms lol poor Maxwell. The crown prince is a reincarnation and he wants to get closer to Luciana but he has a fiancé named Annemarie Victoriam, who is also a reincarnation and was a childhood friend of the crown prince in their last life. They don’t have any romantic feelings for each other at all. Annemarie also likes Luciana but not romantically. She likes cute girls in general for like eye candy and wants to become besties with them. Annemarie’s past name: Asakura Anna. Christopher’s past name: Kurita Hideki. So the Otome game in the story is called like the silver sainted I think? I forgot the exact name. The Otome game is about a girl named Celesia Legginbars, which is the heroine of the game. The girl is the daughter of Count Legginbars, and has silver hair and lapis blue eyes. She has been in sadness ever since her mother has died and she has like no dreams or anything. Her father loved her mother a lot but her mother was a maid and her grandfather (the count’s dad) kicked her (Selena) out of the house. Celesty’s father, count Legginbars, has always been thinking of her mother and has been looking for her for years but found her after she’s dead and decided to take in his precious daughter. He had to wait until his dad died since his dad was so against him being in love with Selena. He’s been searching for Selena for a long time. He renamed his daughter to Celesia Legginbars. Her original name was Celesty McMaden. Celesia has always been lonely. Basically this Otome game takes place at school when Celesia is 14 years old. There’s a school for like all aristocrats. The game has 4 routes. The crown prince route, Christopher Fon Teolas. The marquess route, Maxwell Leclentis. The knight route, Lectias Flord. The boy controlled by the demon route, Byuke. Then there’s the villainess Annemarie Victoriam. So this game is basically a game where it starts with the heroine going to school and she bumps into the crown prince. She becomes friendly with the crown prince. She then meets Maxwell, who is friends with the crown prince and her father’s most trusted knight Lectias serves her at school I believe. I don’t remember 100%. When Celesia goes to school, she has to face a lot of conflicts with the demon lord. The demon lord is a evil being with no body and takes over Byuke’s body when Byuke found a sword in the dark forest full of monsters. The demon lord can only be defeated with the silver saintess’s powers. Luciana Ludenburg, Melody’s master (daughter of a count) is the first character to be taken over by malicious thoughts of the demon lord. She was sent to the capital and the house she has to live in looks like a haunted mansion. She had to go a month before her family due to her father’s matters. The only maid of the house has to leave due to her back, since she’s of old age. Luciana was a poor aristocrat and her family is kind so she has always had experience in helping her servants and she and her servants in her family territory has always been very friendly. Luciana tries her very best to take care of the haunted mansion but it’s too large that she could not. When the maid was still there she invited her childhood friends over and her friends were horrified and she has not spoken to them since since she felt so bad. A month later, her family arrived at the house to see the horrible run down mansion and their poor daughter haggard and skinny. When she goes to school, she is so dirty because the mansion itself is dirty and she has no good clothing and cannot buy new clothing due to the family being poor, and her hair is full of bird nests. Luciana has always been a kind child and has never left her territory. Everyone in her territory were extremely kind, and so were her childhood friends. She has always been beautiful, she was just not taken care of well because of her family’s financial status. She was no longer “beautiful” though because when she spent a month alone in the haunted mansion she was working so hard to maintain it and she has become very very haggard. When she goes to school she is made fun of and bullied which causes her to get very self conscious and jealous of other girls in the school who were financially better than her and she was taken over by the demon lord. She tries to attack Celesia when she’s taken over. Luciana was the only character that dies in the game because she is killed by the demon lord. She was one of the character who was the most pitied by everyone. Throughout the Otome game since the MC does not have any powers since her magic is not awakened yet, she is constantly protected by the male leads. Then in the end she awakens her power by saying that she has always been extremely sad since her mother died but she will live, for (the route chosen) and herself. This unlocks her magical powers and then she shoos away the demon lord but he’s not completely gone but it’s a happy end. Spoiler: Conflict Conflict Conflict!!! 4.) Although this story doesn’t seem to have any conflicts, it’s full of conflicts! The only character who don’t feel any conflict is the MC Melody Wave (Ritsuko in last life, Celesty McMaden the “heroine” of the game). Melody has NO idea that she is the heroine of the game. She also has absolutely no idea that it’s not normal to have so much magical power. She is just a huge maid nerd that only cares about being a maid. Well I guess she does have one conflict that she doesn’t seem to even think about because all she thinks about is being a maid the conflict is that if she’s found by her father, she will have to become a count’s daughter and stop being a maid. ♦︎Next, conflict of Luciana Ludenburg. Luciana loooves melody and she doesn’t want melody to go away. She’s anxious that Melody may leave if she knows that her extreme magical powers are not normal at all, so she does her best to kind of trick melody into not using her powers so much. Luciana is extremely poor, literally dirt poor. She’s only able to have such a luxurious life thanks to melody. Her father and mother are also very very thankful to melody. I’ll edit later, but lol Luciana loves melody the most, not Maxwell. I think she’s interested in Maxwell but Maxwell is more interested in her than she is in him and Luciana is the most interested in Melody. She’s anxious of the day Melody might leave and she wants Melody to stay with her forever. Also, Luciana hates Lectias. She doesn’t want Melody to be stolen away from him and she could tell that Lectias is interested in Melody and she doesn’t approve of him and wants her away from him as much as possible. ♦︎Ok so moving on, conflict of Lectias Flord. Lectias Flord was on a mission to find Melody’s mother Selena. Since hearing Selena’s death, he and his knight partner have been looking for Selena’s daughter Celesty, aka Melody. Lectias falls for Melody and well he sees her naked in his bathroom because he didn’t know she was in their when his maid Paula invited her over thinking he was going to come home later. When she was in the bathtub she took off the magic that had her hair and eyes look black so he saw her true look but she deleted his memories. But he somehow still remembers kind of, like he imagines her naked or something and is like wtf. Later on in the story Lectias is like forced to find a partner for a ball, which happens to be the debutant ball for the academy students. Lectias knows that melody is a huge maid nerd and that she wouldn’t go to the ball if she knew it was the debutant for her master, so he tricks her by not telling her what “party” it is. He tells her on the carriage on the way to the ball, and she is like really mad and she uses magic in front of him to change her eye color to red and hair to blonde because Lectias’s hair is red and his eyes are golden. Lectias sees this and remembers the naked bath scene (not entirely remember, he thinks he’s “imagining” it) and imagined her with silver hair and lapis blue eyes just how he saw her. He then thinks to himself, maybe Melody is Celesty. He then goes to the ball to greet his boss which is Melody’s dad Count Legginbars, and the count says that she reminds him of Selena. This is when Lectias firmly believes that Melody is indeed Celesty, and he is conflicted because he knows that Melody is a huge maid nerd and loves being a maid but his boss also is in grief after losing the one he loves and wants to see his daughter. He asks Melody if he’s interested in being a maid in waiting since a maid in waiting is done by aristocrat women. Lectias is very expectant because he thinks his problem will be fixed with this but Melody tells him that a maid in waiting is cool but she wants to specifically be a maid, and she already has a wonderful job as an all works maid. Lectias has this conflict where he has to choose whether or not to tell his master or just not say anything for the girl he loves. ♦︎Moving on! Next is the conflict of Christopher and Annemarie. As I said before, Christopher (crown prince) and Annemarie (crown prince’s fiancé and villainess in the game) are both people who reincarnated just like Melody. Christopher, aka Kurita Hideki, was childhood friends with Annemarie aka Asakura Anna. The difference between the reincarnation of Ritsuko and them is how Anna was a HUGE nerd for this Otome game and she knows this is the Otome game world. Anna was besties with Hideki’s younger sister and they both loved this Otome game and would nag him to play with them sometimes too so he also knows quite a lot of this story. (A little interesting fact: Ritsuko, Hideki, and Anna were all boarding on the same plane. Anna was going to a event for this Otome game which was going to take place in England, which they are currently reincarnated to, and she was going to go with Kurita Maika, which is Hideki’s younger sister. Maika was too young so she wasn’t allowed to come so Anna forces Hideki to go with her. Ritsuko, Anna, and Hideki were sitting next to each other on the plane and Ritsuko thinks they’re dating but Anna and Hideki are like EWWW because they don’t like each other that way and Hideki is like “I would like to date someone like Ritsuko san” and Ritsuko is just like hahaha and then the plane crashes and they all die.) ok so Anna and Hideki know this world as the game they know of, and Anna remembers like every scenario. Hideki is like “yay I’m the crown prince I get to fall in love with the cute cute heroine Chan” and Anna is like “ew u gross”. So they start training magic and start studying very hard from a young age to support the heroine. On the day of the first day of school, Christopher (Hideki) stands by the school gate for a looong time waiting for the heroine to bump into him but the one who bumps into him is melody, which she is actually the heroine. He’s disappointed and then he like starts going cray cray because the heroine doesn’t bump into him. This is where we know for the first time that this is a Otome game world. So like he has discussions with Annemarie (anna) and they come to the conclusion that if the heroine isn’t going to appear they’re going to have to do something to defeat the demon lord, but they don’t have much power. They had expectations at the debutant ball since the heroine is the one that appears last in the count’s list and awes everyone, but the one that awes everyone is Luciana and both of them want to become friends with her. They find out the count hasn’t found his daughter yet so they wanted to go find the heroine but the information about the heroine “Celesia Legginbars”‘s past was going to be announced in the guide book being released a month after they died. So they don’t know which town she was born in and don’t know her real name which is Celesty McMaden. So their conflict is that the Otome game story they were expecting isn’t happening at all. They think they accidentally changed the past. ♦︎ Finally, another conflict is Maika. Maika, who is Hideki’s younger sister, lives until she is a grandma. She is in her hospital bed and she sees her grandkids and her family there to see her and then she dies. I think she’s like 60 or something. Then she opens her eyes and she reincarnates into a little girl with pink hair. (She appears in the middle of season 2 I believe). She reincarnates into the same world as Ritsuko, Hideki, and Anna. She’s saved by Byuke because she was in a dark alley when she reincarnates and yeah a lot happens and she’s super mature and she’s looking for jobs and Luciana’a family was looking for another maid so she applies because she wants to become independent. She lives in a orphanage but she gets a job she lives in Luciana’s mansion. She notices later that this world is the Otome game world of the Otome game she and Anna loved, and she applies for the maid job and goes to the mansion and sees melody and she’s like “omg she’s the heroine!” Maika knows like every single detail of this Otome game because she has lived until she’s a grandma, and this Otome game was so popular the daughter of the Otome game creator decided to make a sequel and in the sequel announcement there was an art where the heroine was a maid and was pouring tea for a girl (Luciana) and Maika’s grandchild was showing it to her and she remembers this and realizes that the heroine is a maid currently. She is like “omg how the heck does the heroine have her powers unlocked!? She’s a maid!? WhaT? Heroine Chan what about the demon lord!!!” Maika is the one that knows every single thing going on about the game, but none of these people who reincarnated knows that there are other people who reincarnated except for Christopher and Annemarie since they recovered their memories at the same time when they were like meeting together. Maika is the only one that knows that Melody is the heroine and she basically assists Melody to defeat the demon lord and shoo him out of Byuke by telling her “do this and that” and at the end of season 2 they save Byuke and Maika is happy because Byuke saved her many times. Byuke and Maika have a good relationship but I don’t think it’s necessarily romantic. Maika doesn’t know that Melody is a reincarnation though. She only knows that Melody is the heroine. She’s a bit conflicted tho since now that the demon lord is gone the Otome game story is kind of already over. The game ends by the heroine saving Byuke with her holy silver saintess powers. ♦︎ To sum up, the biggest conflict is that there are so many reincarnated people in this novel and yet none of them know that there are other reincarnations besides Hideki and Anna who know that each other are reincarnations. Hideki and Anna once thought that Luciana was a reincarnation since she changed so much from the game, and tried talking to her in Japanese and Luciana was like “what the heck r u saying” and they came to a conclusion that she isn’t a reincarnation (which she’s not.) and melody so happened not to be in the room to hear this Japanese conversation. Oh and the demon lord is in the form of a dog and it lives as a pet in Luciana’s mansion. Since he’s constantly around holy saint magic, he can’t get his powers back and he’s struggling real hard lol. Nobody knows that the demon lord is a dog so who knows there miiiight be a conflict with him in the future? But he’s constantly around holy powers and he’s trying to get his powers back but weakens immediately lol poor dog aka demon lord. So the demon lord is already defeated and I’m wondering what kind of game conflict there will be in season 3. sorry for some typos! I’m typing on my phone and it keeps auto correcting a lot of my words lolll season 3 is not out yet and we don’t know when it’ll be out since it all depends on the author. This is not cliché and i like it personally because it makes tge reader want to know whats gonna happend until the end if the Demon Lord already defeated and would keep reading until the end, amazing i want to ask is the story already end or not? Because i didnt see any updates on the translation or maybe its just slow ?
