Why do MCs always hide that they are a reincarnator/transmigrator in cultivation novels?

The common reason being its dangerous and could bring calamity but that's bs because you see many other 'reincarnated' characters and no one gives two shits, instead they give them even better treatment because they are 'geniuses'.

On the other hand where the MC recieves a legendary cultivation technique, why do they not share it with(their closest family members/friends) again the excuse is that the less people that know the better but thats just dumb and selfish tbh considering the fact that they themselves can HIDE their technique/special ability from the seniors and elders.

P.S. why does no one ever notice they are different lol? Im pretty sure if you possessed somebody(even with their memory) you wouldn't be able to emulate their behaviour so why does no one ever catch on?

Why'd you hide you're a transmigratory/reincarnator? So that you'd not be thought of as having lost your marbles, or if by some chance, get believed, not to be experimented upon, or exorcised.

Why hide that you're a genius?
Because a supposedly mediocre person in the cultivation world suddenly becoming a genius brings in with it the suspicion that said person has some treasure and with it the treasure-seekers which can be deadly if they don't have the requisite backing to tide over.

Why hide your treasures from your family?
Because the best kept secret is one that only ones involved keep. And because even family can turn against each other when benefits are involved.

Why does no one suspect you're not the original host?
Because you being sensible try to lie low and not show off your genius and they won't be so fanciful as to think up the transmigration/reincarnation scenario as they presumably might not be devouring the kind of novels we do.

Tbh the mc probably doesnt have a reason to reveal that he is a reincarnator except it's relevant for the story that he needs to reveal it.

your second point is quite good but in most cases it makes less excuses for the mc to save his family and they don't have the talent to cultivate or the cultivation technique has certain requrements and most mc's tend to get their cultivation technique from a certain item so they can't share since said item is needed and it normally is in their soul.

The third point is quite complicated but in most cases the mc isn't close to people in general or his parent are often occupied
    or some bullshit like that.

most of the time, body was taken over after death
if one reveal he/she has taken the body to original owner family.
what is the most plausible action that original owner family would take?
that person is lucky, if he/she only get cast away or being ask to get lost .
    worst????
    -kill or hunted
-being crippled and used as breeding stud (bloodline/lineage stuff probably or that body is the only child the parent has "you might not our child but your child is surely our grandchild")

Nope, It's exactly like you said. For safety obviously. Drawing attention to yourself is dangerous in cultivation worlds. Other reincarnatiors? How many of those reincarnators have a low cultivation? They only reveal themselves after they're protected or strong enough to take care of themselves. The MC hasn't reached that level yet. Also outdoing your peers isn't as impressive if you're far older. Thus less benefits from being a genius.

What is the family situation like. Is the MC just a branch of the family and has to compete with others. What's the cultivation talent of the family like? Are they likely to brag about getting it? Can they protect themselves from people who want to take it if noticed?
They usually notice. They just don't jump to the conclusion that they're different people.

Hmm i didn't mean sharing the cultivation with a clan/extended family what i meant was sharing it with immediate family/childhood friends, granted it may be stupid but alot of MCs did dumb shit and perhaps adding a stupid selfless thing to the list wont harm anyone. Also not always do the MC parents be non cultivators yea they might have bad talent but most of the time MC also starts with bad talents also their childhood friend/family might have received harm that was preventible if the MC gave them some of his secrets to get them stronger as well instead of forsaking them and travelling elsewhere only to come back minutes before they are killed by a cannon fodder enemy he has had before.
I'd argue this is an avenue that could be explored consequence wise(maybe friend/family betray the MC because of his secret) or they add an extra interesting dynamic

If he shares it with immediate family and he's part of a large clan then his family might be pressured/forced to share with the rest of the clan.

High tier cultivation methods often require more or rarer resources to cultivate it which would actually put them in competition with the MC if they even have the ability to cultivate it as higher talent is often required as well. That being said MCs can just give them his leftovers as once you reach a new rank most of the previous rank's stuff is trash.

The MC might have bad talent but usually has one extraordinary aspect or cheat that helps him make up for it. Lin Meng can't share his willpower and fully sharing your cheat item is super dangerous and impractical depending on how hard it is to use.

Those cannon fodder enemies are often entire realms above his family regardless and no amount of sharing the cultivation method would have prevented it. The MC usually gives them enough benefits that they can deal with the local powers.
