So, I was just randomly typing names into the search bar and adding a .com after them. I think we've all been there at some point, right? Anyways, I searched for "lol.com". This led me to the link https://names.com/LOL.com. Now, this wasn't any normal website. This was a website which was selling domain names. And it just so happened that the "lol.com" domain name was on sale... for an astounding $5,888,888. Now, I went into one of the tabs at the top, called "Understanding Domain Values", cuz that was logical, right? And, oh boy... Never knew domain names were so expensive... so I did a quick google search. Beware of high scammers.
Ughhh... Did you seriously google check if a domain name called lol.com can go for 5mil?! The only time domain names are valued is if they are famous already....like if Webnovel is put for sale then maybe they can chunk something out .... But I hardly believe it can be bought so easily like online shopping... Also who'd be so stupid to sell their brand name ? If they are liquifiyng their company they'll sell their whole company not just the name...it's like donating both your kidneys while you are alive...might as well kill yourself and donate the whole body.
XD oh well...if someone did get scammed at that...they probably deserved it... I'm sure whoever has that website is just running it for the lols...if someone did buy it...he'd be more shocked than happy XD.
Probably to scam other people. LOL can be easily associated with League of Legends, so someone can make use of the domain for the sake of trying to take money from dumb people that don't know what is the URL of the official site. Nobody else would have any real reason to buy this domain. ... Well, someone could also do it just for some laughs and make a joke page in it, since LOL can also be used for Laughing Out Loud... But they'd have to have a buttload of money to seriously buy this domain for this much money just for the sake of a joke... >.>
It's $5M+ thing's an utter scam. you could literally make a website called lmao.com and it'd be millions of times cheaper than that.
