So my relatives are here right now for a 2 week christmas vacation and I'm thinking it's a good time to watch horror movies specially there are a lot of us. I love horror but can't watch when I'm alone. Can you guys recommend some like slumber and grudge series. Thanks
Go and watch The Exorcist tv series. Maybe some old movies too like scream or a nightmare in elm street be good too . If you want new one watch "It" or the witch owo
When they cry (anime) if you watch it alone in a big house with no lights on without permission to use the computer while your family is out (pretending to be sick) you will become very jumpy and paranoid specially if you were 15 at the time.
There is a new-ish show called American horror story. There also the classic horror movies but they are old if you don't like old movies. Also there is an old show called goosebumps Old movies The ring Nightmare on elms street Chucky (not sure I got the name right) Jeepers creepers Saw I know what you did last summer 13 ghosts (might have name wrong) There is an old movie I can't remember the name of about a group of people who stay the night in an old mansion as part of a sociology experiment or to help them or some shit and they die one by one. Silent hill (haven't seen this and it might even be a game not a movie) The hills have eyes Cabin in the woods Those are the ones off the top of my head. If you want more tell me and I'll look up the names for you if I have time (not hooked on a good book).
It Follows - has a supernatural feel to it similar to your examples. The Wailing - Korean with subtitles, long like 2.5 hours. Horror mystery, amazing imo. Train to Busan - Korean with subtitles, zombies but one of the best movies I watched this year. The Invitation - a slow burn, more a thriller, and a quiet tension being unsure what's going on. Very different from your examples, but a movie I enjoyed. V/H/S - and sequels, short horror compilation of the found footage variety. Some of the shorts are great, and inline with what your looking for. The Babbadook - another slow start, 'what's really going on?' type feel, but I enjoyed it. Evil Dead (2013) - a great remake to some classic cult campy older movies. The 2013 version is pretty great imo, lots of blood thou. The old ones are great too but in a different way. Oculus - supernatural haunted mirror shiz Sinister - Ethan Hawke haunted house / film The Host - Korean with subtitles, a monster movie. It's "horror" but more a monster adventure movie if that makes sense. (On that note a lot of movies are considered "horror" but really action / adventure imo, but have horror elements but not the feel, but whatever.) Still a good watch, though maybe not what you're looking for but something on the lighter side when you're tired of being jump scared. Odd Thomas - with the late Anton Yelchin The Void Tucker and Dale vs Evil Troll Hunter You're Next Cabin in the Woods - wanted to give it a +1, @Zerak mentioned it already. But another of my favorites.
Just not having a stable internet connection is already a horror movie of it's own. IT---Clowns? Why not, right? Halloween series---Thumbs up to good ol' Michael Audrey Myers. The Scream series---When movies get too real, XD Smiley---A smile isn't always that friendly, you know.
One missed call from japanese version. Or, if you want the scariest movie ever Spoiler Fifty shade of Grey
