Question How bad could it possibly be?

Hey there, I've got a question about the novel Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu. How bad is the translation after around chapter 10? I love reading the manga of it (when it comes out), but I can barely read the translated novel. The translators English is just atrocious!
So here's my question for the fans of this series, does the translation quality improve, and if so at what chapter? Like, is it in 100 chapters after chapter 10, or is this premature and I should just rake myself over the hot coals that is the terrible translation quality and make it to chapter 12 where it suddenly gets better? Or does it just stay that terrible the entire time and it's not the translators fault, but rather the authors?

Also, does anyone know where the manga is currently in relation to the web novel? Because if the manga is at chapter 50 or something and the translation improves at chapter 60, then I'll probably just skip to chapter 60 without losing too much in terms of the story.

Thank you in advance for the help!

Yeah, non-readable novels are the absolute worst. mtl-ing is one thing, but not ever bothering to correct a mtl is the worse sin one could do. I mean, if you mtl a chapter, maybe run it by a native english speaker who could try to make sense of what the mtl put out. Maybe that would make mtl's a bit more popular.

Few years ago, a lot of people scorn translator translate with mtl but now most people kinda accept it.

Yeah, and I'm totally fine with that so long as I can read it and understand what is being said. If the mtl meets those very specific requirements, I don't really care if it's been mtl-ed or not.

As I native English speaker, I don't recall much problem with the translation of the first few chapters?

I don't know about the manga. It is readable, though, to ch150ish. By the way, I am not a native english speaker.

also the latest chapters seemed to be quite good in quality

…OH WAIT— I picked the wrong series :blobxd:

Sorry, sorry. If it's Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu , then it's totally readable. Maybe some mistakes here and there but overall, it's an OK.

From what I remember the grammer wasn't bad at all. If anything the hardest part about reading it is the story its self isn't as clear and upfront as other stories when it is in third person or any pic thats not the mc. It can be, for at least me anyway, to understand what is going on and character motivation. That might be your problem.

I just finished rereading tsuki for the second time and other than a very small amount of misused words, such as through instead of thorough, I found no real problem with the series

i don't remember any serious issues with the translation. i think the first few might have been rougher than the rest but overall it's the same quality as any other decent translation.

Huh, okay that’s really weird then. Because the chapters I have are just terrible. Like there’s repeating words for no reason (or someone says says someone says...) and just sentences that don’t make any sense. One example is in chapter 10, when the MC thinks to himself: “The plan of Shen to increase the population I have heard it before”. I get the general idea of what is trying to be said here, but it’s just a terrible way of saying it. Another example is in the same chapter, and the same monologue: “What a stealth, what a cheat. I will say it how many times, as expected of the Mikiko, who took all of his energy and generously gave it to me”.

And you know, I’m not above admitting I’m wrong, as I may be a bit of a grammar nazi. But the fact that there are so many sentences like these within this chapter alone (and the previous chapters I’ve read) makes continuing to read this series a total drag. Is it not the translator, but the authors fault for these sentences and I’m totally misjudging this series? Or am I just too much of a grammar nazi?
