How can I filter release by language?

Hi guys, I am a big weebs, I only come to novelupdates to read japanese novel. I am little bit annoyed by bulk of release from chinese translations novel because it hinders me to find japanese novel. To overcome that I've set my filter to exclude tags and groups that known to translate chinese or korean novels. But some of these groups also translate japanese novels so I miss some novel in my homepage.
Is there a way to filter release by language? thanks...

 

There's none, Tony doesn't want that. Anyway, the best possible way is to create a reading list and add all the non-JP novels in there. Then in list settings: there's an option for the novel to not show up in the home screen

 

Pray for @Tony to add that option.

 

Have you tried excluding Chinese genres like Wuxia etc.

Also if you ignore the front page and focus on the series finder you can search for just JN.

Finally you can use the Latest Release option and filter by language.

AND remember to put series that your reading in your Reading List and you can have them separated in a favourites window on the front page.

The best you can do is Exclude the genres and add the series to a hidden reading list if you really want.

at most you could just exclude the usual CN genre for example xianxia/xuanhuan/wuxia on series filtering or by group filtering too

 

Basically all of the above, though it's a real pain in the ass, every time I go to the front page I have to hide several JP novels (in my case). And there are even more CN novels so good luck...

 

Same here. I only read and following Japanese novels translation but there are too many chinese novels at the front page so that I almost never see the series I following appear there, because of that, I rarely visiting NU except when looking for new novels. I hope the staffs will consider to make this filter.

 

Tony wants people to stay open for new things, so this will not be implemented.

Create a new reading list and change its settings to not show on the main release page, then start adding any novel you dislike to this list.

Do that for a week, and you should have no more than 10 releases on your main page at any given time.

You can also use the Release Filtering to remove genres that are exclusive to Chinese Novels, such as Xianxia, Xianhuan and Wuxia.

It's not perfect but cleans it up a lot.

I also have a LOT of novels in a hidden list (610 so far) which further reduces my feed, but there are also Japanese novels mixed in there so you might not like that (since it's based on my tastes).

To give you an idea, currently the unfiltered NU feed has 2560 pages; my feed has only 1491 pages (58%).

This is what people have to do when filtering options are poorly implemented.
