How did you discover Novel Updates?

I was reading Parallel World Pharmacy manga and it showed the novel link to here.

 

Just fumbled around the internet and somehow found it, thought it was interesting and now here we are

 

Tbh, I don't even remember anymore... All I remember is that I came across it somewhere on shiroyukineko

 

In the style typical of a veteran lurker, i.e., while lurking.

 

Manhawas reading btth comic but the updates were slow so i went to the wiki found out it was a novel found wuxiaworld then searched the novels then found novel updates and later found out through novel updates that mangas are adaptations of light novels in comic form.

 

i dont even remember......last i know i had this urge to bash a Qidian bot named HUNTERYHUNTER and made an account.....

 

A friend of my brother's told me about it when I asked him where he gets the novels he read. :^))))))))

 

Its been about 5 years since I joined. So I couldn’t tell you for sure, but like many. I was probably in search of a new book to read. I’ve bought many of the sci-fi/ fantasy I'm interested in already. So I set course out of this ocean. In the hopes of finding distant shores with new adventures. And I did. The internet has best thing possible. An endless amount of stories. So happy. Now if only could get paid for it.

 

Well... years ago, mangaupdates stated that they would remove all novels from their site since its a manga site not a novel site (they didnt do it in the end), so that made me search for a website where i could manage the novels i read, then i found NU, have been a user since, when i found it, NU only had about 8 pages of novels registred. i believe NU was less than a month old then

 

almost the same with me, but I started with animees, when there where no good left I started reading manga and because they are so slow I searches for the light novel versions and found NU at some point. And many mangas don´t base on light novel, like one piece, naruto, bleach, fairy tail, detective conan..., just to name some popular ones.

 

I used to religiously follow Baka-tsuki's translations of Mushoku Tensei, and from there I followed forum discussions to a few other sites (anyone else remember Japtem?) Someone in the comments of one site mentioned a new indexing site called novelupdates, and I've been here since.

 

Legendary Moonlight Sculptor and Coiling Dragon brought me here.

 

Got into reading books a lot when I was 11 or 12, already was a huge weeb at that time, so when I found out about light novels it was like an epiphany. My love for anime and books merged! So that's how I ended up on baka-tsuki like everyone else (through google obviously, I just searched up the light novels of animes I've watched so I could read the continuation of it). Then when baka-tsuki went down I eventually found my way here...don't really know how though...?

Anyway, first novel was Utsuru no Hako to Zero no Maria. Since it was probably one of the only novels there that was really close to completely being translated and I didn't wanna start reading something that would put me through the torture of waiting for new chapters to release with no way of knowing when it might suddenly be dropped by the translator or suddenly getting licenced for English. (Since I was just starting out reading books at that age I only went after very well-known and high rated ones that were completed...I had a lot to choose from, but now it's very rare to find completed ones.)

Ahh, that one. I really liked it too, I used to follow it very religiously too since it was my first isekai and this troupe was still very fresh and innovative at the time...

but I read in a spoiler somewhere that he marries all three of them girls at the end and I immediately lost all desire to continue reading it. At that time I could still handle harem since I was new to all this and I didn't feel as sick of it yet...but polygamy was a huge nope for me since the beginning it seems.

 

I think I was looking at novels recommandations and the novel were linked to NU...

 

Searching for a link to Wuxiaworld. I was reading Coiling Dragon at that time and want to bookmark where i stopped. Came here, satisfied.
