    most of the time, people tend to relate to the protagonists of the novels they read. I personally get really drawn into novels. So how is it possible to enjoy reading about your favourite character getting cuckoled?

    It is just to masturbate, not for any literary enjoyment. People tend to be immune to vanilla materials after a while, and they search for more hardcore genre, and NTR is one of those.

    There's also the Netorari that consist of stealing the girls of others.
    Some mcs are so stupid or just not pleasing to my eyes so i pretty much don't care if they get NTR'ed

    Well, I don't mind it as a plot point. Girl cheats on guy. He eventually moves on and finds someone else. A betrayal done nicely is also epic. Aizen, Berserk, and, Gungrave are good examples of it.

    I don't identify with the beta MC's enough to feel bad for them, nor do I see myself in them. Netorare and netori are basically the same thing to me since I identify with the netori regardless. Plus, the characters are usually hotter than average.

    Most people read novels because it brings out the reader emotional.... why do people like sad stories? To be honest, netorare has to be the genre that is best at bringing out people's emotions, that why some people can't handle it and the others stay for the ride. Your post shows how well the genre does at bring out the readers emotion.

    I like ntr in my hentai but not in the novels, manga, or animes that I watch. In hentai we know it's porn, so the story shouldn't be taken seriously and there is no emotional investment with the characters. It's just good for stirring up your emotions and make your fantasy run wild, but the enjoyment only last during wanking sessions.
